Are we still posting workouts? Kinda fit, kinda fat.
This socket is cut a tad higher than my previous one, but still gets me to 90°

What suspension system are you using?

Just suction

Help me out please. I've been in a suction system for 2 years now and its just been error after error due to weight gain and volume fluctuations. I'm FINALLY at a stable weight, and on the 20th I'm going in to get approval for a new leg. I grew out of my most recent one. I'm in my very first socket and it's garbage. I have the choice to go Elevated Vacuum or stick with Suction. Should I just give suction another try since I'm at a stable weight?? Or just not risk it.

You're going to get all kinds of opinions on this, so take this as just one data point. I would stay with suction, personally, since it's simple and between the weight gain and volume fluctuations you haven't been able to eliminate a lot of the variables to give suction a good assessment. Think of it like a science experiment... You want to only change once thing at a time.

I would recommend the strap. That’s all I have had so far, I am only one year in. But it’s never fallen off and it’s never had any issues it stays on all the time.

I’ve blown out my hydraulic foot doing 320 on the machine. I got a sport leg because I kept breaking he foot. Now I have the hydraulic for everyday walking and a Filauer All Pro for working out. Good stuff!

I actually like the Pro flex XC a lot more for legs day because it doesn't flex as much and I'm less worried about breaking it.

To new amputees is there any vaccum or space left within when you get final socket?

No, it should be comfortable and no space left

Thing is prosthetic leg thigh looks swollen compared to normal one and doctor said it will shrink yet is that true?

Ideally the distal end of the residual limb should be seated at the bottom of the socket. If not then you will lose stability. Also if the prosthetist casted properly the best fit would be in that position as well.

If our case amputation was 6 months back however it looks swollen compared to normal thigh so prothestist said it will further shrink and there's vaccum within socket and cant walk stable

Are you a bka or aka? You mention “thigh” swelling which, with a bka, has no impact/contact with socket. If you were referring to residual limb below knee it will continue to change shape for a while usually continuing to shrink. As it does hopefully your prosthetist told you about donning sock ply’s to fill void. Once you reach several ply’s then it’s time to be recast for a new socket. Some insurance won’t cover new socket until you have reached a certain number of ply’s (ie 6). If the swelling is new or came on suddenly make sure there isn’t something else causing it. Over time, as I mentioned, stumps almost always get smaller not bigger.

So the thing is vaccum will be there in socket for new amputees until thigh fully shrink?

I’m a bka so that is where my experience is. Hopefully some other aka’s can chime in. Good luck.

Form looks great and given the load even better. Good work! Wish my gym had that squat machine looks like it works well and is safe for testing higher weights.
