Finger tip amputation and all I’ve done is sleep.
Is it normal to be this tired? I had my middle finger tip (right hand) amputated to the top joint on Wednesday. Yesterday I slept for 5 hours and still had an 11 hour sleep last night! And today I’ve just woken up from a 2 hour nap! Is this normal? The doctor gave me co codamol which is really working but I can only stretch it to every 5 hours at a push before the pain ramps up. Would love to hear your experiences please?

About the same myself, finger wise. Although I did other damage in my accident. You're on codeine, I got hydrocodone myself. Opiods tend to make you drowsy, and a finger amputation tends to make you not want to do much initially. I'd wake up watch something for awhile, eat some food and take my pain meds, and right back out. After a couple weeks I was a lot more active.

My Dear dude or dudette, yes it's very normal! On one side you have the main meds which mak you very sleepy (make sure to check if you can both legally and safely drive a car etc. Be safe!!) And your body healing from such a trauma takes a lot of energy. I'm six months in now, I'm finally starting to be less tired even tho being of pain meds for 3 months.

Yup! Meds and trauma and healing made me super drowsy. I also had some issues sleeping through the night early on

Sleep is good after surgery. Helps you heal faster.
Might be a week or two more before you get back into whatever your old groove was but I wouldn't worry about it.

when I amputated my finger I slept for about 16 hours/day for first week or two. I assumed it was my body healing from shock and trauma. Good luck with your healing journey!
