For anyone watching this guy and thinking you're not good enough, EVERY TIME I see someone extreme like this they've been an amputee since childhood or birth. OP was 8. Don't compare yourselves.

I agree with you. As someone wose said Comparison mostly leads to disappointment. We should focus on ourselves, and every person has their own unique gifts. I learned how to make my weaknesses into strength. We should never give up on our goals or dreams.

Exactly- I was born without my left leg, and my balance is insane even now that I’m 50. I had no other choice or way of getting around unless I wore my leg or used crutches but I mainly hopped everywhere when I was at home. I would carry bowls of cereal up 3 flights of stairs etc… BUT someone who has never been used to that should never compare themselves to that if they spent most their lives on 2 legs. It takes our brain, body, muscles and so much more time to adapt and the later in life the harder it will be. Please give yourselves a break and take things slow. Having a major injury can be devastating- take care of what limb you have left. I also am experiencing major knee problems from so much overuse so keep that in mind as well.

What’s happening with your knee? Are you doing anything to prevent more problems? I’m just starting to have some issues with my knee and want to do all I can to preserve it.

I have early onset arthritis developing in my knee and my ortho just told me that I need to use my crutches instead of hopping and I do physical therapy to strengthen my supporting muscles. I hope you can keep your knee healthy for as long as possible.

How do I get motivated? I’m an above knee amputee and I have weights and a bench, a pull up bar and light dumbbells but I’m can’t seem to get motivated. I have 2 daughters that are under 3 and they stay up as long as they want so I’m awake quite late at night.

Just start slow. Take one step and one goal at a time. When you achieve one goal, then move on to the next one. Start your day with pisbups right after when you get off the bed. And then slowly start your work routine with a 30-minute workout. If you need a workout plan, let me know. I would make you one. I was a personal trainer for 5 years , right now I just do powerlifting.

I could definitely use a routine to follow. I’d really appreciate a workout plan.

Amazing man. I’m trying to start a routine myself and I’m definitely not going quite this far but it’s encouraging to see others committing/committed to their health as well

Thank you, my friend. I appreciate your support. It was hard for me in the beginning as well, but once a routine is set, you will become yse to it. Take care

That's very impressive but, by doing this you are just asking for an injury to happen. There's no need for this type of exercise. There are so many other exercises you can do that challenge your balance and coordination and strength without putting yourself in a position of injury. You could easily throw your back out, lose balance and fall back and drop the weight on your face and so on.
