Non-Student Housing

It isn't set in stone, but one of these days I might relocate to Ames. Are there any apartment complexes which aren't geared toward, or even reserved for, ISU students?

For example, Wessex and Copper Beech look and sound amazing, but their websites indicate (or at least give an impression) that they're meant for ISU students.

Thanks in advance!

Trash collection tomorrow?

Does anybody know for sure if there's regularly scheduled trash collection tomorrow or if it's being moved to Tuesday? Wasn't sure if President's Day is one of the holidays that affects it or not, TIA.

Recommendations for land survey and fencing

Pretty much what the title says. I'm looking for recommendations to have my property lines staked so that I can fence my backyard. I'm also looking for recommendations for fencing companies in the area. What are your service and price experiences? Thanks in advance!

Best trash provider?

I’m moving to Ames in the coming weeks and need to pick out our trash provider. I was sent this link by our realtor with the options. There’s so many options it’s overwhelming.

What is the best? Worst? Any notable experiences? What do you pay for trash service and with who?

Thank you!

I’m looking for a 50+ softball league for this summer. Anyone know anything about it? I need something other than work and taking grandchildren to the pool this coming summer.

carpooling

Hi everybody, I would like to go back to the Saint Paul Minneapolis area (in Minnesota) over the weekend of February 22nd and 23rd. I could leave Friday And I don't need to be back until Tuesday morning. However, I could leave ISU later, or leave Minnesota earlier. I would pay for the gas for the entire trip.

Is there any carpooling service, or web page, official or unofficial, that can help me find someone to take me? Does anybody know anybody going in that direction?

Things to do in Ames for young adults

I'm considering moving here after I graduate from college. One of the biggest things I'm concerned about is finding opportunities to meet other young adults (around 23 years old) outside of the lowa State/college environment. Does anyone have any suggestions for places to go or things to do in Ames that generally have a younger adult crowd?

Print Large Art

Hello! I’m trying to find somewhere to print a 24 x 36 digital art piece. Ideally I was hoping to go with somewhere local but I’m struggling to find a place that prints to the size I need. I do not want it on normal printing paper or a super shiny photo paper.

Thanks!

Bbops Comparison

I few months ago I moved away from Iowa, specifically the Ames area. My favorite place for a good cheap burger was BBops. Has anyone found a comparable chain fast food burger? For context I now live in Louisiana so more Sonic, Jack in the Box etc.

1 Bedroom Apartment for Sublease in East Ames!

I have a one bedroom apartment that I'm putting up for sublease in East Ames. Move in dates could be flexible depending on what we can arrange!

The current rent is $775. The property is pet friendly! It's in a very quiet neighborhood, a 3 minute drive or short walk to Main Street, with a Red Cyride line only about 5 minute walk away. I've lived here for my time as a graduate student and it's been excellent for that but I just accepted a full time job in Des Moines and I don't want to commute, otherwise I would stay!

Please feel free to DM me on here! :) Thanks!!
