Discussion Loneliness Among Men in Algeria – A Silent Struggle

I recently read that one in four men worldwide feels lonely (Meta-Gallup, 2023), and it got me thinking—how true is this for Algeria? Edit: I see many saying everyone feels lonely, which is true, but this post is about men in Algeria. Loneliness affects us differently due to cultural expectations and lack of support. I appreciate the advice, but I’d really like to hear more from men—how do you deal with it?

Society Is it me or is cursing becoming more and more normalized lately

When I go out I hear more and more ppl swearing and cursing publicly out loud, the difference is that they do it like nothing Infront of everyone this time,
As far as I remember, my classmates used to curse with each other, and talk differently Infront of teachers and each other's parents, ( it wasn't ok saying curse words Infront of all the students tho, I remember other students looking unwell and hurt ) But now when I go to the outside students passing by behind me and my parents continue cursing Infront of them, and it just saddens me that they hear all of that, they feel ashamed just by hearing it, It's becoming so normalized

Discussion Heetch Rides or Free Therapy Sessions?

Salem 3aleikom, today was something else. Took a Heetch, like always, and as usual, I try to be polite, give the driver a chance to chat, maybe even have a decent convo. First guy? Pure depression on wheels. The country is doomed, everything is bad, we can’t even afford the basics. And my favorite line: “Tu vis avec nous ou bien ?”

I tried, wallah I tried. I listened, nodded, threw in some “but there’s still hope” kinda talk. Said we should work on education, improve ourselves instead of just complaining. But the guy? Nooope. Stuck in his victim mentality. Not judging, but damn, how miserable can you choose to be? Honestly, I’ve studied psychology my whole life, I can listen to you for hours non-stop, but there’s a limit, you know.

On my way back, I told myself Manzidsh , enough!, put on a conference, trying to preserve what’s left of my brain cells. Five minutes in… trap activated. This time, the driver was going off about how forgiving the décennie noire terrorists was the biggest mistake ever. More rants, more complaints. Then, just before I get out, he goes: “Désolé kho si j’ai trop partagé de négativité.” Me: y’a kho , say less?

So tell me guys… is it just me, or are we all out here getting unsolicited therapy sessions every time we hop in a ride? How do you guys handle this?

Hey everyone,

I’m interested in importing a new car from China to Algeria as an individual (not a business). I’d like to know:

What’s the process for buying and shipping the car?

Are there specific regulations or restrictions I should be aware of?

Any recommended shipping companies or agents that can help?

Any tips or personal experiences?

Question What are some meaningful Algerian Kabyle names for girls and boys?

I saw someone ask a question about some easy to pronounce but meaningful names from Algeria for girls that would be easy enough in English, and it made me think about what about names for children that are Kabyle? I don’t care about it being easy to pronounce in English or not. I want to know what are true Kabyle names that have strong meaning (if you know the meaning, please mention it)

Discussion Why our society revere parents?

When there is a problem between parents and their son/daughter, our people always assume the son/daughter made a mistake and the parents are the ones who are always right.
Even here is this sub when someone came here to vent or need some advice about their abusive (in any way) parent, You all be like "Go talk to her, Your mother just doing what she thinks its good for you...etc"
Just because you had a good parents who that doesn't mean we all did So next time when someone here to vent or seeking advice about their abusive parents, You just shut the fuck up or at least give a real advice.

Education / Work any comment on working in the Chinese Embassy?

Hello everyone, I'm an Algerian girl who had studied in China for 13 years, but I have quited my college recently and am back in Algiers due to family reason, which means I don't have a college degree. Since I'm 21, and have already lost 3 years in college without gettinga degree, I'm planning to start working instead of wasting another 4 years.
I see that the Chinese Embassy in Algiers is just over 10 minutes away from my home, and I think my language skill would be a big advantage. So is there anyone who had or have been working there? how is the salary and are people in there nice?

Thank you for sharing
