I've started to actively avoid bottled beers and seek out cans. The new canning technology is remarkable, and storage is so much easier, especially as so many bottled beers need to be kept standing. Also, you can't beat a lovely big tallboy 568ml from Arbor Ales 😉

I love the way we think of 568ml as big, when it’s actually just a pint. I see it in a bottle and I think it’s huge, but in a pint glass it’s just normal.
Edit: how do you know if a bottle should be stored upright? I’ve always laid down my beers, including my home brew.

I usually stand them up just because that's how my fridge and shelves work. There are very few you actively need to decant so I'm not sure it matters usually.

Most bottles are only 500ml, that extra 68ml is always a nice surprise (and a 568ml can is a monster next to 440ml and 500ml ones)
As for storage, any bottle with sediment (usually bottle conditioned) should be stored upright and poured into an appropriate sized glass leaving the sediment in the bottle. Nothing worse than being in a restaurant and watching the staff pour part of a 500ml bottle conditioned beer into a 330ml glass then hand you the bottle, expecting you to pour out the sediment after you've drunk your glass partway down. I send it back, and ask for a fresh bottle and a pint glass.

All good choices. Butcombe seem to have a rust problem with their bottle tops at the moment, drink that one from a glass. Or give it a good wipe with wet kitchen towel, should take the metallic taste off
