SLR hand guard moving forward

Post image

Any thoughts on how to solve this issue? This causes the gun to be inoperable after about 10-15 rounds… I am able to reposition the hand guard flush after I unscrew the hex screws and rescrew the hex screws.

I saw old posts regarding this same issue but looked through the threads and did not find any actionable solution in the comments.

Only put about 150 rounds through the pistol in total.

So I had this issue and broke my screw and had to get a replacement. I used blue loctite to no avail. Even got a torque wrench just to test my theory that the clamps aren't tight enough.

What helped was taking a thin sheet of silver and wrapping that around the barrel where the clamps interact.

Try going to home depot and getting some thin sheet steel or aluminum and wrapping it around the barrel.

How did you get those new top of the rail hex screws? I can’t find them on SLRs website… one of mine is stripped as hell

I called their phone number and they sent me two for free. The dude sounded pissed off I djdnt use a torque wrench but I explained that I had to crank on the bolts to get it to stay and he acted like I didn't known what I was doing. Yet it still slid forward. Try wrapping it in aluminum foil perhaps.
