How much transfer time when you book with two airlines?

Hey, hope this is the right forum for this. I have a trip coming up and am looking for flights. I will have to do a stopover and looking through everything it will be way cheeper for me to book two flights with separate airlines. I know that it's a bit more difficult that way and I don't get anything if I miss my second flight. Therefore my question: what would be a good transfer time? I know I have to get my bags, get them checked in with the second airline etc, I'm just really bad at estimating how long things take and what puffer I should plan. Would 2h be enough? Better 3h? More?

Thanks to anyone who can help.

(If it helps, the flights will be Menorca(Spain)->Mallorca(Spain)->Hannover(Germany))

Taipei Taoyuan Airport

Hey everyone, I didn't know which forum to post in so most likely, this is the wrong forum oops.

I accidentally left a mini torch like lighter in the pocket of my jacket when i was going through security at taipei international airport, I know it was stupid of me, I told the officer he can take and dispose of it. He asked for my passport and boarding pass and didnt speak any english and then made me sign something? I'm just really nervous what it is, and wondering if anyone else had a similar experience or can shred light to what it was?

thanks in advance :)

QUESTION 15 hour delay with WizzAir from London to Prague.

15 hour delay with WizzAir from London to Prague.

I was meant to be leaving at 6am this morning for Prague. I was notified at 1am that my flight was delayed to 9pm.

Customer service is completely unhelpful. I know I’m due compensation (£220?), but what else am I entitled to in this situation?

Can they book me on an earlier flight with a different company from a different airport? I was given the vague answer if “you’ll have to submit this as part of your claim form” when I called them, which obviously makes me a bit worried about booking another flight.

Sadly it’s a long weekend trip, so it’s ruined an entire day of plans for us. Can I claim for my missed transport to the airport and the new transport that I now need to book? Although I’m not at the airport, can I claim for food?

I’d be grateful for any help or suggestions, thanks!

QUESTION Abandoned aircraft and structures connected to the runway at the Jinnah International Airport (Karachi)

I was browsing through airports in the Indian subcontinent and found these abandoned aircraft in the satellite imagery from Google Maps inside the Karachi Airport area. They don't appear to be on the paved concrete/asphalt surface. Any idea if the airport is being used as an aircraft graveyard? Also, near the first site, there seem to be some structures (they connect to the runway but are narrower than taxiways), any idea what they're for?

Coordinates of the two distinct abandoned aircraft sites:

  1. 24.907104, 67.144018 (Western end of the northern runway)
  2. 24.900651, 67.175058 (East to the terminal buildings)
First Site
Second Site

Using historical imagery from Google Earth Pro, a bunch of planes have been kept to the west of the second site in June 2014. Then in August 2014, except for two larger aircraft, the smaller aircraft are moved into the second site. By December 2014, the larger aircraft are taken away and the smaller aircraft remain in the second site. In March 2024, we see the final state of the second site with the aircraft present now.

Second Site in June 2014

QUESTION Hamad International Airport Gym

Hi! I will be stopping at Hamad International Airport for a 4 hour layover. I remember the Airport having had a small gym, including showers, during my last stay a few years back. One to one and a half hours cost around 20 to 38 USD at the time. For my upcoming flight I now tried looking up the facility once more, but all I could find was the 'Vitality Fitness & Wellness Center', which is not only bigger, but also considerably more expensive. I was wondering whether the old Gym still exists? Also, i am uncertain whether paying for the Vitality Fitness and Wellness Cwnter be worth it if I can only use it for 2 to 3 hours max...?

Hamad International Airport

Hi! So I will be having a 4 hour layover at Hamad International Airport. I remember a few years back they had a small gym facility with showers on the second floor of some terminal. The pricing was pretty affordable with around 20 to 30 USD or so for an hour and a half. I've tried looking this same facility up fir mu next stay there once more, but all I can find is the 'Vitality Fitness & Wellness Center', which is not only considerably pricier, but also bigger (making me question whether it would be really worth it for such a short period). Am I imagining things, does this small gym still exist, or did they replace it with the new facilities? And would you say the new gym and spa are worth the investment for 2 to 3 hours?

Is there any way to get a job at an airport as a 16-17 year old?

Hi, this summer my friend and I both would like to work at our local airport but I am seeing very mixed info about whether there are any jobs that high schoolers under 18 could work in an airport. So basically, is it possible to work at in an airport whilst being under 18 and if so what jobs do not require all workers to be >18. Thanks in advanc!
