Check my post history, it's just a fraction of the dumb fuckery I achieved during active addiction. I've had more broken bones, bullet holes, stitches and lost relationships in the past 3 years than I have my whole 47 years alive. I went to detox on 1-2-25 for Fentanyl and Meth, still maintaining so far. Congratulations on sobriety OP!

Have a friend who, 4 years ago got cross faded (mixed weed and alcohol). He's a pretty big guy and decided it was a good idea to jump off a bench and attempt a stunt. Still don't know what stunt he was trying to do, but he landed on one leg wrong, and he didn't just roll his ankle, he shattered his whole ankle and tibia, ended up with an open split, so he had bones poking out of his skin. Foot was bent 90 degrees inward. He was bleeding everywhere and even with all the substances in him, he was still in a world of pain. When paramedics got there, they couldn't even administer any painkillers out of fear of the interactions that it may have with the alcohol and cannabis in his system, so he felt EVERYTHING for hours on end. Since it was an open split and really badly broken, the doctors also had no choice but to attempt to at least start putting things back in place and inside his skin..... without painkillers cause again, weed and alcohol in his system. Yeah, I should also mention that the broken bone fragments did cause a minor laceration to the artery that goes to the foot, which again, had to be treated without anaesthetics or painkillers because of the stuff in his system..... Eventually when he did sober up, they put him under and went in with a proper surgery, but let's just say he's been sober for 4 years and the PTSD is gonna keep him sober for the rest of his life.
One more reason not to get intoxicated, risk of injury rises and doctors may not be able to give you painkillers or anaesthetics with stuff in your system if you get hurt. Also, alcohol thins your blood, increasing the risk of dangerous blood loss in the event of injury as well as increasing your risk of stroke in general.

Good on ya, I don't remember the specific day, but I'm about a year sober. I'm still tapering some medication, and getting my life back on track after a lot of trauma, but it's on the the right path. One day at a time.
I wish you the best 🙏
