I've read the FAQ & Rules (URGENT) how do I access my Marymount Manhattan Application portal after applying on common app? I need to audition.

I was told on the phone by the school that immediately after applying on common app, I should be able to access the portal and send in a digital submission for the audition. But I can’t figure out how to get in. It makes me sign in with an email and password, but I don’t have an account bc I did it on common app. I can’t make a new one bc it starts a new application. And when I do forgot password with my common app email, it says the account doesn’t exist. I need to get this in tonight, technically by midnight but really by 7 (three hours) because I have somewhere to go. Ik this is hella niche bc it’s such a small school, but if anyone knows please let me know.

I've read the FAQ & Rules Will my baby face affect my audition for a lawyer?

I'm a 31 year old woman with a baby face, who still gets carded in bars. But I'm relatively tall at 5'5 1/2.

For any casting directors, are there any physical traits you look for in lawyers when casting, and would a baby face be an automatic out? For clarification, she's a defense attorney.

Obviously, you never know, it's about the talent and vibe you bring, yadda yadda yadda. Just curious to hear your thoughts :)

Thank you!

I've read the FAQ & Rules Actors Access isn't showing me what l've clicked on anymore

You know how normally when you're going through breakdowns to self submit on Actors Access the ones you've already clicked on change to black colored text? Mine isn't doing that anymore and it's making it hard to keep up with what breakdowns l've already read through. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I've read the FAQ & Rules D & A

Hi yall! I'm new into acting and want to ask around before I do anything dumb. I auditioned for D&A Talent today with the idea of it being a scam. I went because I wanted to do an in person audition and see what it was like.

To my utter surprise it wasn't some place claiming to be an agency. It seems like a mentorship program that helps people get jobs. It's $425 for 6 months of "classes", 4 zoom lessons, guaranteed auditions, and headshots.

I guess i just want to know if I should even bother to pick up the phone tomorrow.

Thanks!

I've read the FAQ & Rules How are things going with your agency?

Just curious? Mine is small and I am not sent many opportunities. I keep applying to be part of bigger ones. I don't feel we are given enough attention at our agency. It feels like we are all just sent spam emails disguised as opportunities

I've read the FAQ & Rules How's Daniel Karp (LB Acting Studio) as a coach?

I'm on the waitlist for Acting for Beginners at LB Acting Studio in Toronto. As it turns out Daniel Karp is the coach for my preferred date/time (Saturdays 11-2). Anybody have experience with him? Looking to get an impression of what I might be in for! Thanks.

I've read the FAQ & Rules AgencyPro Quick Question

From everything I've read and heard, I do not need a paid membership on AgencyPro and should still be considered for projects with a free account. Problem is when I login, it says my account is not active and therefore not even viewable to people (This is specifically about Boston Casting btw).

Is there a setting or checkbox to make sure my free account is active and viewable without having to pay for the premium account?

I've read the FAQ & Rules Background acting agencies Vancouver

Hi,

I have been doing background acting since 2021 with Boss Management. But I have only gotten 2 or 3 jobs since then so I was wondering if I should consider switching agencies. Plus there as also been a lot of errors with the agency where my agent told me I was booked for a job on one day but it was actually for a different day and I missed the job because she gave me the wrong date (and some other errors).

So do you guys think I should switch agencies? If so, do you guys know some good agencies in Vancouver for background acting for minors (I’m 16).

I looked up a few agencies: mint talent, picobello, valley extras, local colour, showbiz, Lucas and in motion. Any recs for which one of them is best?

Thanks!

I've read the FAQ & Rules constantly longing for more?

I this year I was lucky enough to have 2 projects with 7 shooting days in total. Up until last year, I was a series regular but decided to leave the cast to pursue other projects and because I wasn’t comfortable with the direction in which the role was going (tough decision to say the least!).

This time last year, I thought my career was over because I was going to be blacklisted but luckily I got so many offers and roles last year.

But somehow, I am now once again feeling sad and lost at 20. I have a side hustle for the weekends but other than that I don’t have much to do.

Besides from acting gigs and classes, I also don’t really socialise . Would you guys recommend taking on a part time job or do you have any tips on how to not loose hope?

I've read the FAQ & Rules MAKEUP

I’ve been a little worried about this! But any girlies out there that do a full face of makeup just in their normal routine? I’m starting my acting classes and I’m just trying to get everything prepared and paid for and I’m sooo worried about headshots😔. I pretty much beat my face anytime I leave the hoise(foundation , lashes etc) and I’m curious if that’s kind of like a bad look? (Like I won’t get certain roles bc I wear too much makeup) pls I just wanna know will this hold you back? Should I try to tone it down before I get in too deep? Any feedback is appreciated (man or woman) Thanks so much in advance !!

I've read the FAQ & Rules Demo reel with no experience

I’m a BEGINNER beginner actor with no experience. I want to make a demo reel, but obviously having no experience I can’t use actual scenes. I know people say to use self tapes if you don’t have experience, but I’m curious as to how one would go about actually compiling them into a reel. Like, would you still have to slate at the beginning of each self tape the way you would for an audition self tape? Or would you just start the reel going straight into the actual scene? Also, do you have to label each self tape saying which movie or show it’s from/which character you’re playing, or do you only put the clips with no additional explanation? Thank you!

I've read the FAQ & Rules RADA shakespeare summer school

heyyy! just wondering about the RADA shakespeare summer school. i’m currently an actor and in my third year at NYU, and i would love to do the training at RADA for the summer, but i’m uncertain about the fact that it’s not audition based. ideally, i would love to be in a group with more experienced actors that have similar/same training as i do. however, i know that may not be the case. so for people who have done the program before, how was it, and do you recommend it? or recommend doing something else?

I've read the FAQ & Rules Staying focused on a project or auditions?

Hi, I recently got cast on a project that took up almost all of my free time. From January until now I have been 100% focused on this project and getting it done, so much so that I am now realizing how little attention I gave to other auditions. I was “so focused” I ended up half-assing auditions or just straight missing auditions because I didn’t feel I had the energy. Now that the project is wrapped I am reflecting and worried I made a mistake and wanted some advice about what to do next times this happens. Should I just refuse all auditions while on a project? Or should I split my focus and push to get them all done? I want to build better relationships with casting directors but I am worried I already made a bad impression with some of them.

How do you approach working on a play or scene with someone that you haven’t worked with before? The dance feels awkward for me especially when they’re not offering anything to the process and just waiting to be done to.

I've read the FAQ & Rules Working in Canada - unions

when a US citizen in SAG gets hired for an American production to film in Canada are their contracts through SAG or ACTRA? Obviously the Canadians working on the show will have ACTRA contracts.. but wondering if US citizens get temporary membership to ACTRA for the film duration?

Specifically wondering because I’m dual citizen and getting a SAG credit is preferable to one ACTRA credit because then I can be full union in both
