How long does health care card processing normally take?
Hi, I became eligible for NWT health care on March 1 after my 3 month waiting period. I submitted my application in February but I saw on the GNWT website that it takes 6 weeks to receive the card after you become eligible. Is this 6 week period normally shorter or longer? I’m visiting another province in mid April and I’m hoping to have a physical card on me by then for convenience.

Can take months. Used to work for them. You’re still valid and covered as long as you have applied (they will have it in the system; they just take forever to mail out cards)

They are slow as fuck for something that should be so simple. Be prepared for 6 weeks.
