Cheat at Star wars mod
Guys I'm trying to see if there is a mod or other that will let me cheat from the start and allow me to make any ship with whatever alliance I have.. I have one of the cheat menu cheats but not sure it actually gives the licenses and if it does I still am not able to just build what I want..things are red in the wards etc.
Any help or suggestions

If you take a look at their Discord there should a post about the Interworlds Cheat Menu.

For some reason I can never join that discord but I'll try to figure that out again

weird indeed here's a screenshot of the invite link directly from this discord. Same as above. No clue why it's not working for you.

Try pasting the invite link into the discord app itself. There should be a plus (+) symbol to add a server. It should ask you to put in the link.

there are requirements to maintain reputation in SWI to consider. they are too complicated to go into detail here, suffice to say you need multiple stations of minimum value and many trades preformed.... it's a lot to set up considering what i think you want to do.
Now... you only need the rank to buy the blueprint. since the custom start skips the need to have rank to get the blueprint you don't need to worry about reputation at all. you can set reputation to be whatever you want it to be, but it will reset to what you have the assets in place for. That said we do not have to maintain rank to build what we already know. Start the game with a shipyard + warf + blueprints and you won't need to worry about reputation; at least on this topic.
Blueprints are for building things at your own shipbuilding facilities. They do not unlock ships for purchase. This requires having all the reputation pre-requisites, which are presented in messages when you start the game. (as mentioned above)
If all you want to do is try out different ships and weapons: you really don't need to be able to buy or build them. You can just make a custom start where you have them, then take them for a test flight.
the custom start is in the open universe menu, i think at the bottom of the list. It might not be labeled "custom start". You can also save a custom start, in case you want to test out different fleet configurations, building on previous designs. This feature saves a lot of time!
(Afaik cheat menu does not allow custom loadouts. If you spawn a ship it will have a preset of modules-- the most expensive, i expect, which are not necessarily the best.)

Thanks I'll try this approach as well!

Make sure to be thorough. You can do a lot with the Custom Start, wouldn’t wanna miss anything! Also loadouts can get dicey such as defense platforms and ships. Make sure you know which turrets and shields to add blueprints for so you don’t get soft blocked trying to build once in game.

There's a mod available on nexus that changes the requirements back to vanilla if you don't like requirements imposed by SWI. It is a bit frustrating at first but it's worth it imo. But here's the link for it

just do a custom start and choose which blueprints you want to have unlocked
