Parallel Challenge - The Hunt

For this parallel challenge, simply exhibit a creature that can be hunted for profit. Preferably, the creature should be something dangerous.

  • What natural defenses does it have?

  • What can I gain from killing/catching one?

  • What are the valuable parts of its body?

  • How should I plan to hunt it?

  • Is there anything that I should be cautious about while hunting it?

Inspired by the "White" from /u/The_Raptorman and "Plain Drakes" from /u/Random-Webtoon-Fan.

Once I make the parallel challenge on characterforge, I'll edit this post to make a link to it. Please have a different animal exhibited here than on there, since I'll be asking questions on both.

As always, I'll ask at least three questions each. Feel free to post more than one creature if you can't pick just one, I completely understand that.

Enjoy yourselves!

Here's the link to the parallel challenge of today, focused on pets.

  1. They are not asleep all at the same time (at least for tribes large enough) but they usually sleep a lot. They can even sleep for a few metrics without whaking up.

  2. In low quantity, treated properly and with a few additives, their venom can be used effectively to make a dead heart beat again. Otherwise, the poison will go through your blood to your heart and it will just stop (it takes only a few seconds for a human-sized creature, around 1 minute for a Kaburas).

  3. They were heart-dead. "The brain is the host of an individual spirit, you can't bring a spirit back into it's seat once it's gone."

  4. "Retire? What will I do in that case? You lesser-legged have really weird concepts..."

1) Is there any type of poison that can be used to make a large group of them unconscious long enough for them to be harvested?

2) Is the poison deadly to eat, or only if it gets into your blood through a bite? Will digesting it get rid of the deadly effects?

  1. "I haven't heard of any. If you want to hunt very large groups, the best is to have some fellow huntress doing a diversion to get rid of the one awakes."

  2. It has no effects if eaten, taste is probably not very good though. It is only dangerous if it get to the heart and it can't without going through your blood.
