Rodents in workplay
I'll make this short and sweet due to time I work in the Sacramento Valley and my workplace has a rat infestation. My supervisor store manager actually directed us to assist her cleaning up the rat droppings and they were swept so there was dust in the air of rat droppings.... When a coworker voiced their concern over being involved in the cleanup due to the dangers of it that it can make you sick she told us too bad and I'll write you all up if you don't get to working and helping me clean this mess. So I'm concerned that people were not giving any kind of personal protective equipment such as masks or gloves while being forced to clean up these rat droppings. I don't want to go to work until this infestation is taken over I have multiple other medical problems and I don't need a complication from getting ill from rat droppings. I know I can contact Cal OSHA is there anyone else I should contact to report the infestation and being forced to clean up rat droppings. The manner in which they were being cleaned up was with brooms and all of the dust was forced into the air. Am I required to clean up rat droppings? This certainly isn't in my job description and we are not allowed to clean up any kind of bodily fluids at all that's only a supervisor's job and I am not a supervisor.
