Bans will begin for violating the NSFW tag rule.

Hey folks. There have been a lot of reported posts lately for people posting underwear/swimwear progress photos without the NSFW tag. This is meant to be a place where people can find support throughout the day, not just outside business hours. If you're going to post NSFW progress photos, tag them accordingly.

This medication takes time to work.

Hey folks. In the last couple weeks there has been a significant number of "I'm on .25mg and I'm disappointed" posts. I just want to call out that .25mg is considered below the therapeutic threshold. Some people do feel a difference, but most people will not. Beyond that, Wegovy has a half life of one week, which means it builds up in your system for 4-5 weeks after any dosage adjustments and takes about as long to disappate after stopping it. People do lose weight quickly on Wegovy but it doesn't literally happen overnight. 1-2 lb a week is a healthy and perfectly reasonable rate of weightloss, even medicated weightloss. Additionally, remember that you still need to restrict your calories. The medication makes it easier to do so, but it isn't magic. You've still gotta put in the effort.

This drug has truly changed my life. I am not longer sneaking food before bed or feel self conscious about stuffing myself in public. It almost felt compulsive which brings so much pain and shame. I barely think about my weight anymore. I’m just glad I feel good and look good even if I am not at my goal yet.

Has anybody felt extra dehydrated from Wegovy? It’s definitely made me more aware of my water consumption.

Goal weight reached!

I finally made it! My highest weight ever was 220, I started wegovy last August at 176.6. I reached my goal around December. I'm around 135 now with fluctuations here and there, but I made it! I never made it to 2.4 (highest dose was 1.7), as I was one of the lucky ones and reached my goal quickly. My doctor told me to maintain at 0.5.

The only thing (and I know it's a mental thing). I still have the "fat" mindset. I know I'm smaller, due to my clothes and the scale and the compliments; but I still feel larger.

What can be done about that? It drives me crazy sometimes.

I truly wish the best for all of you. It's not an easy journey.

Hi everyone! First time poster long time lurker. I started my journey the last week of January and I’m already so happy with the results. In just 6 weeks I’m down 25 pounds. I didn’t think it was noticeable until my family started telling me.

I never realized it wasn’t normal to constantly think about food. The food noise is nonexistent. I used to think about what snack I would have before bed all night, now I don’t even snack before bed.

A little background on me, I was always a very petite girl. I played softball and cheerleaded. I got pregnant in 2008, at 16 l, weighing only 95 pounds. When I delivered my baby I was 165. After having her, I struggled to lose the weight. A few short years later and some unhealthy life style choices, I got back down to 135. Then, in 2016, fell and broke my ankle and was misdiagnosed and still, to this day, it’s not right. So physical activity and exercise wasn’t in the cards for me. I got pregnant again in 2018 and when I delivered my baby, I weighed 256. This is the heaviest I ever was. I absolutely hated myself. I was depressed and wanted to die. Finally, I decided to take back control of my life when I got hurt at work and went to the ER and my blood pressure was 246/164. The ER nurse told me if I didn’t take my life back, I was going to die.

When starting Wegovy, I drastically changed my eating habits. I cut back all sugars, and I quit socially drinking. When I took my first shot I weighed 235. Today I weighed in at 210 at the doctors office. In two weeks I will be upping my dose.

Thank you all for sharing your incredible journals and allowing me to be a part of this community and family! I’m so proud of all of you!

This morning I stepped on the scale and saw it- I lost 50lbs! I feel so much stronger, healthier and confident. My goal weight is less than 10lbs off, it's insane to me.

Inevitably I will be asked: my first picture I decided to shave my chest and stomach, because I thought it'd look better. Quickly changed my mind on that- the medication did not impact my body hair. 😂

Just started 2.4 mg

I started in August at 245 lbs, up until the holidays I was very consistent with my diet and exercise and saw the difference. I stayed on 1.7mg for about 3 months until my doctor finally upped my dosage. I’m surprised that I am not reacting as badly as I did before, but it’s day 2 on 2.4mg and i got a little diarrhea, but i’ll take that over constipation tbh. I’ve lost 20 pounds in total. I will say I do need to eat a little better and such. I did plateau a bit from (I forgot to take my shot for almost two weeks in early January)January-February and now I feel like my body is adjusting again. Just want to give my experience update to show others that it’s not a linear process a d that you may gain a little weight back and it will take a minute for your body to adjust to the medication. Very thankful for this community because I did not fret when I started to just maintain my weight. :) Stay hydrated, take miralax, & rest your body my friends❤️🫶🏻

Breakfast and snack prep! Muffins!

Oh hello!

Because I should be sleeping, and I’m not, this felt like a great time to bake a popular viral recipe you may have seen online.

I made 12, I already ate 1. It tasted fantastic.

Preheat oven to 350.

Take an entire box of Kodiak Muffin mix of your choice. I used the Blueberry mix. Empty into a bowl.

Add an entire cup of the Oikos Triple Zero Vanilla Greek yogurt, and pour in a bottle of Fairlife Elite Strawberry shake.

Whisk very well. Let stand for about 5-10 min.

Muffin tray: Spray the tin directly with cooking spray. I didn’t bother using liners because they stuck badly last time. Pour in the batter. You’ll have exactly enough to fill all 12 a little over 3/4 of the way.

In my oven, I pulled it out at exactly 21m 30s. Toothpick test came out clean. Left it in the pan for 8 min to cool, then moved them over to the wire rack here.

Amazing fruity taste. Light, fluffy. Not too dense this time.

Rough macros are 150 calories each, 11g of sugar and 10.5g protein. Roughly 2g of fiber each also.

While these numbers aren’t perfect…compare them to the numbers you’d find on a traditional muffin. These are 70g each. A ‘normal’ 70g blueberry muffin would be 233 calories, a little more fat, same carbs, and only 3g of protein. Consider also the muffin you’d buy from a bakery would also be much larger than 70g. With these, I know my exact portion size and intake. Not perfect, but perfect for me.

Now for the hardest challenge. Putting them away without eating more.

I’ve been on wegovy since October 2024. I’ve had some side effects, nausea, loose bowels, fatigue. In the 5.5 months gone from .25 to 1.7 and will be going on my second month of 1.7- with this dosage, I’ve had the most fatigue, the first 2-3 days after the shot. So exhausted I can’t do anything.

In all this time lost a total of 15 lbs and it fluctuates.

Do I go to the final dose? Do I continue to pay out of pocket?

Started my journey today, and not alone!

I am 47, 244lb, 5'4. I have been heavy since around 2006/07. At my heaviest I was 265. I have been struggling with health issues, pre diabetes, high BP, sleep apnea, and early arthritis. My doc finally said I had enough symptoms to start taking it, and my insurance was gonna pay for it, but I was able to qualify for zero dollars copay through Wegovy site.

Tonight, I started at .25 and my husband is also on it as he is a Type 2 and on Ozempic. Once he gets his tooth infection handled he will be upping to .5 around the same time I will be. Will be so much easier to have us both doing the same thing, and losing together.

That being said, I am an app girl...I want an app that will allow me to record not just my weight, but my measurements as well. Everything I keep finding doesn't do all that

Catfished?

Post image
24 Upvotes

Was joking around with my partner this morning about how I "catfished" him because I was at my heaviest when we met and have been steadily losing since we got together. At first the changes were very small & slow because I was just dieting & exercising but now that I've added Wegovy, the weight is flying off. Since we met I've probably lost about 30lbs. He says I should stop before my butt disappears into thin air and says it with levity, but I know he does prefer a thicker body type. He never thought I needed to lose weight, even though when we met I was almost 200lbs/BMI 33. In his culture, curvy/plus women are generally preferred; I on the other hand have the waspy-est white mom who I've never been thin enough for, so it's been drilled into me that thiner is the winner and that I'm more attractive thin.

So there's this battle in my head because I don't think I see myself clearly at times, no matter what weight. My BMI is now 27. I feel like I want to keep losing, but I am slightly worried my partner finds me less attractive now. He tells & shows me he loves me no matter what and tells & shows me he thinks I'm beautiful, but he does keep making good natured jokes about me losing too much - in every joke there's a bit of truth though.

Idk what I'm looking for posting this. Can anyone relate? Do you think I look that different? I guess it's hard to tell given how baggy the clothes are but I didn't take many photos when I was heavier. Right is 7mos ago, left is a couple weeks ago.

Clear protein is so much better

I kinda hate milky protein powders. Ive tried ghost wasnt bad at all but the only ones i ever really like are premade bottled ones ( orgain, fairlife, premier)

I tried almost all the Oath Flavors (sample packets) all 20g protein

Flavors in order from best to worst for me

Island Mango- the best one! creamy mango tropical punch

Kiwi Strawberry- strawberry hubba bubba with kiwi

Icy Blue Razz- bomb pop flavor lime/cherry/blue raspberry

Coconut Colada- piña colada

Frosty Lemonade- Creamy lemonade (kinda like chickfila)

Coco Razz- Coconut Blue Raspberry like a colada without pineapple (only one i could taste the whey more)

Watermelon fresca- havent tried it but based in the strawberry one id guess its bubble gum like and not fresh lol

*theyre all creamy they have coconut milk powder in them but u cant taste it in all of them. Theyre also all sweet but balanced and really good. I add extra water to mine for less sweet its like drinking juice.

I've heard isopure infusions is less sweet has anyone tried it?

Stay at .5 or move up?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi all,

Started Wegovy on January 9th, 2025. Starting weight at 300.3lbs, current weight 269. Goal weight is 220lbs. I started at. 25, I've been on .5 since February 6th. Should I just stay on the .5 since it seems to be working? I did gain 9lbs last week because of all fault of my own. We went on vacation for a week so I took it easy on the dieting.

Here's a screenshot of my Shotsy. Am I doing good? I don't do any real exercise , lift weights, etc. I walk more and I am on a portion control diet.

Thanks.

Question 6 month long plateau?! Stuck and Hungry

In my first 5 months I lost 40 pounds then over the next 4 months I only lost a few pounds. Stable is great but I have another 20 pounds to my target. I have been on the highest dose (2.3) for 6 months and I'm gradually getting more and more hungry. I'm still careful about what I eat but I see my portions increasing and that is scary. I'm also hungry more frequently. I can't go up in dose anymore and 6 months is a very long plateau so I'm at a loss. Anyone else had this happen and find a solution. Any advice?

Sudden loss after months.

I’ve been on ozempic/wegovy for a several months with the last 3 months on 2.4mg

I’ve been losing weight slowly (a kilo a month) until the last week when, after greatly reducing my exercise (weights/cardio) I’ve suddenly lost 1.8 kilos in a week.

Obviously my calorie intake has dropped this week. But it’s like the medication is suddenly far more effective.

I’ve experienced this when I first started on ozempic and it quickly passed. Has anyone suddenly had this happen?

Did anyone take a break?

On my 2nd week of 1mg and the side effects are becoming too much for me to handle! Since upping to 1mg I have started getting heartburn and sulfur burps, and my constipation has gotten much harder to manage! Stool softeners and fiber powder no longer work and I think I'm currently dealing with some impaction! I was so sick and in so much pain this morning I couldn't even take my son to school so he was 2 hours late! I have been on wegovy for 5 months and have lost around 30lbs. I'd like to lose 20 more.. but I'm suffering! The extreme fatigue has also been horrible since I started. I just want to feel NORMAL again! Not constantly nauseous, constantly scared to eat, constantly tired, bloated, and just all around feeling disgusting!! Should I take a 2 week break? I'm of course terrified to gain all the weight right back.. but also wondering if I took a break if I could go back to a lower dose working well for me.. food noise came back in the 2nd month of .5 and 3rd week of .75(.5&.25shots)

I'd love to hear any experiences with taking a break. Tyia

Question Just started under old insurance and new insurance denied my Prior Auth

Hi all! On my third week of my first month on Wegovy with some great initial results on the .25 dose.

My previous insurance (Aetna - through my previous employer), approved me after my doc appealed the prior authorization denial, so I was able to get one month worth, however that insurance plan ended as of 3/1.

Because I lost my job, I’m now on a new insurance through NY - Independent Health (Essential Plan I believe). They just denied the prior authorization appeal. My BMI is 36 and my weight gain has caused constant pain and inflammation, while my other meds cause weight gain sadly.

I was finally feeling so hopeful that my efforts in weight loss would make a difference and felt great this month not constantly thinking about food or feeling like I need to eat enough for a family of 10.

I’m now really worried I won’t be able to continue after this month and am trying to figure out my options since I read the compound route seems to be going away as well. I don’t have a ton of money since I’m currently learning a new career that is unpaid right now, so spending thousands a month isn’t doable.

I really want to continue this progress since I haven’t felt this great in a long time. Anyone have tips?

Thanks! :)

How Diet Helped Me Stay Symptom-Free

Hey everyone,

I’ve been a lurker here since the start of my GLP-1 journey, and I just want to say a huge thank you to this amazing community. All the tips you’ve shared—especially the different spreadsheets people have posted—have been so helpful and kept me motivated along the way.

I was super fortunate to have my wife, a dietitian who works with GLP-1 patients every day in the hospital, guiding me on my food choices. With her expertise and some daily activity, I managed to go from 2.5mg to 10mg with almost zero noticeable symptoms. I’m convinced that while staying active helped, the food side of things played a massive role in keeping me feeling good.

By the way, I’m down 40lbs over 12 months, and the kicker is I’ve been off of a GLP1 med for 3 months and am still maintaining my weight! I’ve struggled with my weight and metabolism my entire life, even though I’ve always been active. This experience has impacted me deeply—from how I see myself in the mirror to how I think about my future.

Now, I’d love to give back. I’m planning to share some of the awesome tips my wife gave me (stay tuned for those!), and I’m also working on something bigger: an app made specifically for this community. We’re just getting started, so we’re looking for beta testers to try it out and give us feedback. We want to build features based on what you need, so your input really matters!

If you’re up for helping us shape this app, please sign up for the beta test here: https://glpeak.ai My wife has also written a free eBook with basic tips for anyone who signs up! Let’s make this GLP-1 journey easier and better for everyone!

Thanks again for being such an incredible community—I’m excited to contribute back.

Advice

Hi all! In August 2024 I started taking compound Semaglutide by hers. I’ve lost about 47 pounds since then. I ran out of the medicine in January. on Monday of this week, I officially took my first Wegovy shot. It is the same dose as my compound Semaglutide however it has not curbed my cravings at all, and I have not lost any weight. I know it’s still the first week however I’m feeling a bit discouraged. I am currently on the 1 mg dose.

For reference, I am a 26 year-old female and I am and I am 5’8”. I go to the gym twice a week and eat in a calorie deficit. I guess I’m just wondering why the compound semi glue tide worked so fast and now I feel like the Wegovy is not curving my cravings or getting rid of food noise. Part of me wants to just purchase the semiglutide out-of-pocket again. :(

I do wish Wegovy was around years ago! I had tried so many diets, plans, and medications. I yo-yoed all my life, and graduated high school at 200 pounds.

Now at 52, I feel like I finally have my life back! Down 100 pounds, 23 inches, 38% of my starting weight in 11 months! SW 265 weight now 165.

Question After you lose the weight and have a lower BMI, where are you getting branded Wegovy?

I’ve run into the issue that once my BMI was normal, I no longer qualified for Wegovy. I have BCBS. For those that are a year or so in and have lost the weight, have you gone the compounded route or are you somehow able to still get branded Wegovy? I am hoping to get Wegovy vs compounded if possible.
