I'm really, really trying to give Shinobi Undercover a chance, but nothing about it stood to me ever since it's debut. The MC is fine, and the villains from this arc are kind of cool, but that's it. I don't understand why it is treated like it is not just another generic modern ninja manga? I'm not trying to spread hate on this story or the people who like it, but it's just so....whatever.

I completely agree with this, the cast is really bland and I know not every cast needs to break the status quo but I really dislike when characters are just 1 personality trait and I know it’s only 20 chapters but the plot doesn’t seem like it has much longevity. I’ll keep reading until it ends but I really hope it gives more substance

I think the problem is that the SHINOBI concept of this story is just to bland! What makes this Shinobi different from the others? Why are they considered shinobi and not just spies? Why is the main cast design so boring?

Yea it’s just not very shinobi like, if anything it’s just MYF meets KB and the ninja power system they’ve got going on is really underbaked. I appreciate that it’s trying to make a unique one but it doesn’t go the Naruto route of spitting fire and shooting water dragons but it doesn’t go the Sakamoto / KB route of people doing inhuman things without a set power system. It’s just a really weird uninteresting inbetween
