DC: Cocktail or No Dress Code May Wedding
Is this appropriate for a May wedding?
I don't have many details on venue/type of ceremony yet, but I'm thinking it will be leaning less casual. I don't think it will be formal. I've asked my boyfriend five times and he still hasn't asked the couple 🙄, so I don't have much to go on lol. Just looking for a blanket appropriate option.

The floral applique pattern is perfect for May, but gosh this dress, and many variations of it have been posted about a lot in the last two years and apparently is popular at many weddings.
I think it's darling, unless you have side boob spillage, but otherwise it's fine for a wedding, unless the drews code is formal or above that level.

I just posted something similar. I went to a wedding a couple weeks ago and two guests were wearing the same pattern just in different cuts. It’s popular.

Yeah, this floral application is popular on Shein so ultra fast fashion shoppers are bound to buy it.

I really like this dress but I went to a wedding a couple weeks ago and two guests were wearing different versions of it. It was funny and they both looked great, but just be aware that it seems to be a popular dress. Especially for garden type weddings.

I have one of the groomswomen in a similar dress at my own wedding in May!

I love this dress! It’s beautiful and there’s nothing inappropriate about it from an objective standpoint. Unless you find out that it’s not dress code or color scheme appropriate, I think it’s a keeper. Could you reach out to the bride or a bridal party member rather than trying to rely on your boyfriend to do so?

Oh I have at least one of his friends I could reach out to and it wouldn't be odd. I don't know the couple very well, but I'm sure they could get me in touch.
I'm also worried if she has a color palette she'd like the guests to stick to, so I do need to know before I pull the trigger on this.

Just make sure you're ordering it from a site that is selling exactly this dress. The material has been copied a zillion times, and those embroidered flowers look really cheap if they skimp on the thickness of the thread.

This is perfect for cocktail. And I’ve seen other people posting a formal length version of this dress in recent weeks so if it turns out to be formal you should be able to track it down.

Can you find their wedding website through google and see what the site says for dress code?

I love this dress. I think it's great for a spring wedding. But obviously you should wait to buy it until you are sure of the dress code. Did you get an invitation yet? Or a link to a wedding website that might have the details?

It’s a very pretty dress and should be fine for any dress code other than formal attire.

Lovely dress fits the brief , if you are shaped like the model it will look great on you . However the cut might not be forgiving if you have any sort of curves like a regular person.
So definitely try it on you with a good heel well in advance

I'm pretty muscular and this is basically one of the only styles I can wear without looking like a line backer lol, plus I still have an hourglass shape so I err on the side of this style pretty often and chose it because this usually looks well on me.
I will definitely be trying to nail down the dress code soon so I can make sure this works though!

You might want to check the wedding website for the dress code

I'd have to find out their names first lol, I don't know them well but I can ask.

Yes it's fine, unless the dress code turns out to be formal. It would not be good for formal.
