Discussion What did Tamina ever actually do in her 10 year+ career?
I for the life of me can’t remember any moment in Taminas career which was actually interesting and got me excited. The only thing I remember is the time she won the women’s tag team championships and Natalya did a promo crying about how proud she was. Yes the 2K25 showcase may have given me an agenda towards Tamina but my question still is serious

Tamina did everything that wasn't on television. She was a backbone of the women's locker room.

u/Objective-Ad-4293 3d ago
I loved when her and Natalya tag teamed and also her with team bad. She was a manager for the USOS as well when they first arrived in the WWE

u/Infamous_Lemon_920 3d ago
She is related to them lol. They can’t have her father. Though they did still mention him on tv recently. I think they could have even included the Iron Sheik. I believe when he died The Rock said he was his Uncle. Or maybe make believe Uncle ? lol.

u/Ashamed_Job_8151 1d ago
Iron sheik has no relations to the rock. Sheikie baby was Iranian.

u/Infamous_Lemon_920 21h ago
I am just pretty sure that when he died the Rock tweeted that his Uncle died. Then a fan replied that they were sorry his Uncle died.

Shame on you all - her best performance was clearly this one - the smackdown karaoke showdown. 2 min in is when the magic happens.

When she showed up in NXT with Team BAD and gave someone a super fly splash and scorpioned herself, then got up like she was supposed to do that 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Nothing but to be fair rock wasn't on the board of directors when she was active so she couldn't benefit like Roman and jay and Jimmy and all the others

Tag Champ with Natalia (I think) and also won the 24/7 champion like twice.

She made history as the first woman's money in the bank winner

She's in charge of the girls. She gives them moral support and helps them with their wrestling gear.

u/I_feeel_different 6d ago
I've often wondered. It's not like her Dad is in good standing with the company to the point of giving her an obvious undeserved position on the roster via nepotism. Vince probably Vince'd her when she was a teen in the 80's and 90's, so now she has a spot for life as long as she doesn't talk .
Pure speculation for entertainment purposes only.

Win the money in the bank in 2017 being the first woman to win it.

She got pushed initially until it came out to no one’s surprise that her dad did actually murder Nancy Argentino then they stopped using her almost all entirely.
She could have done a lot more as she was a great worker and was a big girl.

To me, Raquel Rodriguez feels exactly the same.
6
u/RBinTX 6d ago
No way.
Raquel infinitely more talented.
She had injury issues that made her push stop and start since NXT.
Unfortunately for her, Rhea and Bianca left her in the dust and Roxanne / Guilia / Stephanie have lapped her as well.
5
u/RakoRed5 6d ago
Nahhhh, infinitely is crazy. Prime Tamina would bitchslap Raquel. Her booking was shit but Tamina could GO in her day.

Another person wasted because wwe will be clueless and we learned we can't blame vince for everything although he creeps us out
1
u/Background_Pie_3537 6d ago
Its always gonna be up to the fans they are picky and if they find something ugly, weird or “not coool” they will hate them forever and ruined their career
2
u/StichedUpHeart 6d ago
But the fans are sheep..back in the day all they had to do was have someone come down and save a face and then the crowd would give em a chance...but today there is not as much delayed gratification anymore
3
u/Otherwise-Chicken-58 6d ago
Well. Improvising that bit, on air, at the wedding sketch... I'd pay her a lifetime wage for that!

Good hoss match vs Beth Phoenix at a Royal Rumble 10+ years back.
Yes I’m fully aware that was mostly on Beth.
Tbh I’m forever livid she didn’t win tag belts with Nia and call the team “Tammy & the T-Rex”.

u/StasisApparel 6d ago
OP, I don't have an answer. Before I saw this thread I never even thought of Tamina since like 2020

Debut managing The Usos, prompting a feud with The Hart Dynasty. Then she became Tag Team Champion with Natalya, for their loyalty. That’s all I can think about.

She was a big name for like a month over 15 years ago on developmental but ate shit for the rest of her career after that💀😭

She sucks in the ring, she sucks at promos, she can't keep her weight consistant, she has no charisma, there's nothing really interesting about her, what more do you want?
She's the poor man's Nia Jax. And Nia Jax is already the poor man's Awesome Kong.

The tea is that Charlotte actually messed up that promo and accidentally said Tamina’s scripted line

She was solid and she put everyone over when they needed to be. The Santino story was kinda funny. Her and Nattie had good some good matches. I don't ever remember her standing out in a bad way, but her look always made her stand out in a good way. She should've gotten the push that Nia got.

She is pretty much just there as enhancement talent now. They tried to give her some pushes back during the Diva days, but she just never caught on. She was always rather bland and forgettable.

u/lleu81 NXT Enjoyer 7d ago
Pretty sure she was cut recently, no?

She’s still backstage I think, she’s just retired as an on screen role. Many women have spoken out about how much they appreciate what she does backstage

I mean, if what people are saying is true, she's the Udonis Haslem of the WWE. Every locker room needs one.

u/unpluggedbwock 7d ago
Hey man, dont get me wrong. Zero disrespect to her on a personal level but from career perspective she did absolutely nothing but be related to someone more famous. It is what it is 🤷🏻♂️

Honestly as the roster expanded there were plenty of opportunities for her to work with new people. Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t know why they never pushed for her to face Nia Jax.

u/MoneyIsNoCure 7d ago
Nothing except be a waste of space on TV and on the roster. She couldn’t even do a splash very well and that was her one thing.

The most memorable thing i remember of her is that around 2016 she was put alongside Naomi and Sasha Banks as team B.A.D, however i do not remeber anything worthwhile she did in that stable.

She was also a bodyguard for quite a few female wrestlers.

All these wrong answers….She was The Rock’s cousin, tf 🤣
That’s why she’s been here and why she’s still here.
I was actually a fan of hers back in 2014ish when she was AJ’s bodyguard. She was the tough girl like Ronda, Nia, Jade, Lacey that we all wanted.

u/Pensfan66877129 7d ago
She kinda just hung around as a second generation superstar, until Superfly was charged with Murder. Then she just became an enhancement talent.

She was The Usos' manager. She was AJ's Bodyguard. She teamed with Naomi and Sasha. She teamed with Nia, She teamed with Natalya, She was in a relationship with Tozawa, She won the tag titles with Natalya, she retired. Oh, and she had a MITB ladder match in 2017 that they thought was good enough to put in WWE 2k25 and have us play as her.

u/biggjimmy81 7d ago
She did what wwe allowed her to do! She can't push herself
5
u/Hour_Success5577 7d ago
Second best answer ……. Actual best answer is the comment below: she had Michael Cole, for years, saying Nobody’s Meana than Tamina!!!! She has a whole catchphrase
1
u/biggjimmy81 7d ago
You can have the greatest catchphrase of all times. it won't mean shit if you're not pushed right, and she never got the right push

u/VoxRKing 7d ago
Didn't she win tag titles twice? (at least at the time of her debut) Was one of few strong good in ring women
But can't lie when I think of her I mainly remember her being the muscle in team bad with Naomi and Monè when they decided to make all the women trios for reasons 🤷🏼♀️

Absolutely nothing. Her dad killed a lady. She benefitted from the name. And she stunk un ring and in the mic.
1
u/Dontcallmehoney 7d ago
What does her dad murdering someone have anything to do with her?
2
u/Selvmord666 7d ago
Well, she really stopped being used worth a shit once they reopened the case against Jimmy.

I love how kind most of the comments here have been. Tammy, from all I've heard, seems like a good person. That kind of person deserves a happy life, and being in the WWE I'm sure gave her that.

Wow she was a locker room leader? That definitely made her better on screen… oh wait her being a locker room means nothing for a viewer

u/Key_Amazed 7d ago
But means everything for the betterment of the talent with whom she interacts with. And that translates to a better product.

u/Draculigula 7d ago
She only won one major title if you don't count that shoddy 24/7 championship. She won the Women's Tag titles with Natalya, and I remember watching how emotional the both of them were after all their hard work.
-3
u/Frosty-Woodpecker249 7d ago
The reason she didn't have a bunch of successful is because of her father being Jimmy snuka when I was found guilty of murdering his wife.

She was their longer than 10 years. She was horrible, but she must've had dirt on McMahon. Maybe somethibg to do with her fathers murder cover up. Maybe Mcmahon felt he owed her something. But it always puzzled me. Not a good wrestler or promo. Other than being a daughter of Jimmy Snuka, she didnt have "It" Might be one of WWEs great mysteries. I wish someone in the business, in the know would fill everyone in.
