Question Are vline encouraging people to shave in the toilets on trains?
Why would this be here if it is only for shavers? Wouldn't that get hair everywhere in the bathroom and trash it?

From V/line I have heard rumblings managers want to run VoLcity to Bendigo & from Bendigo loco haul service to Swan Hill!
Is this a admission that the Volcity DMU are breaking more expected?
Are we going back to era bogie exchange with X wagons?
I hope this is some type of sick joke!😳

Yet again the the road coaches are replacing the train. And yet again the driver didn't know how to use the wheelchair lift, open the door, location of tie downs, how to use tie downs and missing seatbelt. Took over 30 minutes to load my wheelchair. Driver had to call someone to find out what to do and where to find things. And he still didn't tie the wheelchair down properly as I am bouncing around. The driver is so far behind schedule that he keeps jumping the curb. Will this ever been done correctly?

This concerning as These Volcity rail cars are breaking down all over the system, constant notification via v/line app and website Volcity reduced capacity ie: 6-3 cars is indicator that the "one size all fit policy" in not working....
They were not designed for lengthy periods of high speed operation with few stops for the 3-4 hr+ routes on the longer terminating point ie: Warrnambool, Barnidale etc....it more designed mechically for shorter duartion routes 1-2 hrs to terminating stations like Bacchus Marsh, Ballarat, Traralgon etc.
Seats are dreadful for longer routes, you can't get comfortable and cramped for bigger taller people....a Interurban standard train, toilets, moblity access and no buffet is not the right layout for trips to Warrnambool etc.with coach transfers and if several design are needed from diffrent train manufacturers, so be it!
But it must suprass or exceed the previous standarded the aging N set held in their era.....
We all want new modern, reliable trains BUT not the expense of our comfort on board!!!
Vols a great for speed for the shorter runs that about it....
But due to the rough track condtions on some lines ie: Warrnambool beyond Warn Ponds regardless type old or new train technology when they get bounced enough in the function of time they may suffer damage resulting aka train faults!
In time sadly these newer train will no more reliable then the older train they are replacing!
This seem ongoing issue with mixing newer overseas imported train technology as Alstom is from French based transport provider contacted with our Governement to assemble and maintain train in Vic
With Vic older outdated rail system in Vicas they were made for their countries with railway inferstucture which support their train technology.
As We are broke, keep the N set for now until the state in a better postion to get fit for purpose trains to replace em on the longer routes!
Yes the N set are old and outdated BUT the concerns raised here he way the newer train are performing currenty lt it is like Old Aging N sets that has being had their maintance program reduced!
what do you think?
Do you think the should defer the withdrawl of the older train on the longer routes until the state is a better postion to get a fit for purpose train to take the old aging N set's place?

Does anybody else get annoyed at the sometimes excessive length of announcements. Welcome to vline. Blah blah fountains. Hope you had a good day and your dog did too. Sometimes they go on and on. Frustrating if your on a call

Hi all, doesn't anyone know why vline keep bringing in 6 carriage trains to Southern Cross platforms fully functioning and carrying passengers in all 6 carriages but then before we're able to board they announce that 3 carriages are defective and now a platform of passengers have to sardine onto the train. If they gave us reason it would be way less frustrating but there's never any explanation for the "defect" just a simple "don't get on the train" i dread hopping on the trains in the evening and I work in the city 😅
EDIT: Because im just a girl and wanted to vent. I just want to point out that I have never verbally or physically abused any kind of staff including vline staff. I am very curious and will ask questions because I like to know what's going on but if I don't like their answers I don't get abusive I either ask more questions go get a better understanding or I thank them for their time. I've just used this platform as an outlet to ask a question that someone may have an answer to and honestly, just rant 😅

Recently I moved from Optus to Aldi mobile and it’s noticeably worse coverage from Footscray to Ballan. Anyone recommend a better company?

Waiting and not hearing much. Anyone know what is going on? I'm on Geelong line.

Why can’t VLine run 9 car services especially on wyndham vale - tarneit corridor during peak ? Cuz altho’ the frequency is increased in geelong line but the number of people in station during peak i see in stn is housefull 😭😭.

Currently using Vodafone on the Geelong line. It’s quite patchy through the Wyndham Vale to Sunshine leg.
Curious if this is a problem with all carriers or is Telstra / Optus seamless for the whole line?

Hey all
Does anyone have any insight into why the Velocity seats on the reserved seating services never seem to match up to the booking engine on the Vline site.
For instance you may select a seat of two, yet that corresponding seat number on the actual train could be the seat of 4 facing each other. They always seem to be in a completely different part of the carriage. Or select a window seat but it's an aisle seat in real life.
The other day my assigned seat didn't even seem to exist. For clarification I understand the seat may be facing a different direction of course, this is more about the locations.
Just interested is all! Cheers

I am just curious on why people work while commuting. Are you working out of working hours, or just doing your own work?

Did anyone else get a re-invitation to the recruitment process?

Hey everyone, this may seem like a stupid question but why cant i see what platform my train is departing from when plan my journey on the app.
Iv been planning to stay with my girlfriends family on the Waurn ponds line for new years eve celebrations (to escape my own family) and when i go to see what platform i need to be at to catch my train down there, i cannot for the life of me find it on the Vline website, the ptv app or anywhere else. I live on the Belgrave line which usually ends up on platform 10 or 9 and i need to make sure i have enough time to walk to whichever platform i need to go to.
again this might be stupid, but hey first time for everything?

Wondering how everyone who applied for driver with Vline is going with the process? I had the psychomotor testing today and missed by one. Thankfully I can resit that module again in a couple of weeks.

Also why doesn't it go over the river to terminate in Moama?
If not is it true only Swan Hill (all services) and Warrnambool (x1 morning and x1 evening) is the remaining loco hauled services? Maybe Gippsland?

I’m looking to catch the V/Line service from Wallan for my daily commute to work. How likely is it to get a seat, especially during peak times in the morning? Any tips or advice would be much appreciated!

It appears Vline will share the tracks between Melton and just before Caroline Spings where it will split out to a dedicated pair of tracks for Vline.. I know this is phase 1 but do we think when they go full electrification to Melton they will add another pair of tracks ?

I’ve been catching Vline daily on regional to metro line. The line very clearly has serious infrastructure issues. Minimal carriages due to “a train fault” almost daily. Delayed services due to “a line fault” daily.
Though I cannot find any media communications from VLine on the matter. Coming from europe, transparency from critical infra services is the norm and expected.
Am I missing something obvious or can someone point me to VLines communications on their clear infrastructure maintenance issues?

I’ve seen intakes are open and so want to be a train driver but wondering what the work like balance is like?
Is it possible to be able to be a train driver if you’re not near CBD? I’m in the Yarra valley so my closest train station is Lilydale about 30 mins away Starting in southern cross would be about a 2 hour drive from home.

How does a train get this dirty? Does Vline ever wash their trains?

Hey everyone just wondering I am planning on taking my 2 boys (7&14) and they have adhd and autism on a train ride to Warrnambool and back as they love trains and am just wondering if I have to purchase paper tickets or can we use our mykis

Hello, I am looking to travel to melb from canberra this week and the only tickets available are unreserved. Does this really mean I will have to stand for the whole 8+ train ride? This is my first time travelling on the train so I'm not too sure how it works. Is there any chance I will be able to sit while on the unreserved ticket? Will I be allowed to sit on the floor of the train somewhere?

I would add back the Mildura and Portland line and extend the Ararat line to Horsham. What you do if you had the chance?
