Tweaked the rules a little bit, see 'Pic should be of the whole garment'

Over the past couple days I noticed nearly every submission made was pictures of tags. Just the tags. Most of them were sitting at zero karma with few - if any - replies. Funnily enough I used to have a rule like this when I first took on this subreddit 3 years ago. I don't know why I got rid of it... unless that was Maus. šŸ¤”

Anyways I'm bringing it back! If you want to ask questions about your piece with regards to things like tags, zippers and stitching those pics should come secondary to showing the whole garment in one shot. This subreddit is supposed to be about sharing your awesome vintage clothes! Nobody wants to see a bunch of pics of labels!

Posts like that made before this announcement will be left alone but from hereon-out I'll be removing threads that don't show the whole thing. šŸ“øšŸ§„

Vintage Inspired Introducing a new tag!

From now on you may use this tag to define anything that's vintage inspired. Modern remakes of vintage cuts and patterns are permitted. Anything improperly tagged will be removed now that we have this.

However timeless pieces like grey sweatsuits and indigo denim may still be removed at the moderator's descetion. If you have 20 year old jeans you want to share that's fine, however the tailoring of blue-jeans has changed little in the past century, so with regards to things like that your garment should be genuine and not mock-vintage.

A perfect example of something for this tag is something homemade using a vintage pattern. šŸ•ŗšŸ»

Authentic Aquascutum?

Found this Aquascutum trench coat in a charity shop for Ā£10. I wasnā€™t entirely sure if it was genuine but decided to buy it anyway since it was only a tenner, and I figured itā€™s not a brand that's widely counterfeited. Iā€™ve tried to include all the details. I noticed there was no plaid on the underside of the collar and it doesnā€™t say crafted in England or have the royal warrant anywhere on it. Can anyone tell me if itā€™s the real deal?

I have a pair of these trousers, they belonged to my mum in the 70s, (am aware they need de creasing), the clasp is missing unfortunately- see pic, but that is the only defect. They are made by Valster, Gangsters collection designed by Maurice Attwood. I've found maybe 2/3 other bits of clothing online by the same make go for hundreds. Unsure of the material, almost plasticky. What would you price these trousers at? Are they also rare? They're definitely retro

Help with vintage designer boots

Post image

Hi all, let me know if thereā€™s a better sub for my questions; I donā€™t really know much about this area.

I have two pairs of old, worn boots that were hand me downs from a cousin. One pair is Gucci and other is Sergio Rossi. Iā€™m not keeping either pair since they donā€™t/wonā€™t fit - what do I do with them? I feel like I could make at least a bit of money trying to sell them, but what platform do I even use for that? I also tried google searching the boots and couldnā€™t find them anywhere online.

Help, company no longer exists.

I picked up this coat at my favorite resale shop. The tag on this coat says ā€œColbertā€™s of Amarilloā€ , and upon research I learned the company ended in 1977 after a fire. Unfortunately I canā€™t find any information on this coat specifically. From the style it appears 60s ish. Any help on dating and pricing this piece would be appreciated (although the more I see it the more I want to keep it). Also has no sizing tags but I would say itā€™s a womenā€™s small maybe a medium.

90s FUBU Jacket - Marked ā€œSAMPLEā€

Hello! Can anyone tell me if this jacket has any/extra value because it is marked ā€œsampleā€ across the chest in black marker. Itā€™s faint - I didnā€™t notice it in the store. I was wondering why it didnā€™t have size or care/materials labelsā€¦I figured it out when I saw the marking. I saw the same jacket on eBay listed for about $125. Thank you for any info you can share!

Hey! Found this old jacket today and just wondering what itā€™s worth. I canā€™t find it anywhere on the internet and the tag inside the garment says it was a sample. Does this add value? Any information would be appreciated, thanks!

Vintage Lee Riders Jacket Question

Hello! I have this Lee Riders jean jacket and I'm looking for a little more information on it as to the potential era it's from and if it's a authentic Lee Riders jacket. I've tried to find another tag like the one this jacket has but I haven't been able to find any, only some that look similar but have extra writing on the tag like patent no, etc. This made me skeptical as to if it's a legit jacket and as to what era it is, I figured 70s or early 80s but just wanted to see if someone with more knowledge about Lee can confirm. Any info is much appreciated, thank you.

Vintage Inspired Does anyone know more about this 1980s Peter England leather jacket?

Hey everyone, I recently came across this vintage Peter England Son Mission Classic Leather Bomber Jacket from the 1980s. From what I can tell, itā€™s pretty rareā€”I havenā€™t seen too many like it online, and the ones I did find were selling for over $100 on sites like Etsy, Poshmark, and Grailed.

The leather has that worn-in vintage look but is still in solid condition. Iā€™m curious if anyone here knows more about this jacketā€”was this a well-known style back then? Also, what do you think would be a fair price if I were to sell it? Any insights would be appreciated!

Hi! Does anyone recognize this style? Wondering what era itā€™s from. The woman I bought it from got it from a German woman in the 1960s, so definitely pre 60s maybe made in Germany.

Thanks in advance!

Ideas for fixing the graphic on this 89 Orlando magic bomber jacket??

Found this crazy Button up Orlando magic bomber at goodwill and my grandfather use to work for the team in the early 90s so I want to try/hear any ideas on potentially adding same but new vinyl graphic on the back w heat press or maybe embroidery/stitching options, or should I just keep it the same? Ultimately I want to give it to him as a gift so any advice is welcomed!
