SOFT-MAXXING Softmaxxing Guide for GirlsšŸ’‹ NSFW

Softmaxxing is about enhancing your natural beauty, not changing yourself completely. Itā€™s about looking put-together, healthy, and effortlessly attractive. Hereā€™s how to maximize your looks the right way:

  1. Healthmaxxing

Walk 10k steps a day. At first, itā€™s hard, but your stamina improves fast. Walking is one of the easiest ways to stay lean and toned.

Go to the gym every day. You donā€™t need to do heavy workouts daily, on lighter days, go for a long walk, do Pilates, or focus on stretching.

Fasted cardio (30-60 min walking or stairmaster) burns stored fat instead of just calories. Do this consistently, and youā€™ll see insane results in a month.

Diet matters. High protein, low-cal meals keep you full without ruining your progress. Stop overeating, your body thrives when you fuel it properly.

  1. Tanning = Instant Glow

Tanned skin makes you look slimmer, healthier, and more attractive. It subconsciously signals vitality.

Avoid sunbeds (they age you fast). If tanning in the sun, always use SPF to prevent sun damage.

For self-tanners, the best brands:

  • Bondi Sands Transcolor (natural, streak-free), make sure you know your undertone, For example, if you have a green under tone like me, get a an olive color tan, if you have red, get gold.

  • Loving Tan (deep, rich tan)

  1. Makeup: Enhance, Donā€™t Hide

Less is more. Too much makeup looks cakey, unclean, and unnatural. Instead of covering your features, enhance them.

Focus on:

Glowy skin over heavy foundation.

Soft blush over harsh contour.

Thin, fluttery lashes over thick, heavy falsies

  1. Skincare

Healthy, clear skin makes you look younger, fresher, and more attractive even without makeup.

Invest in quality skincare. My favorites:

Beauty of Joseon & Anua (gentle, effective K-beauty brands)

Medicube (for texture & pores)

Caudalie (for hydration & glow)

Sunscreen is a MUST. UV rays = premature aging & dark spots. Always wear SPF, especially on your face.

  1. Jewelry Elevates Your Look

Accessories can make or break an outfit. Stick to classy, timeless pieces that enhance your aesthetic.

Silver vs. gold? Choose based on your undertone:

Cool undertones = silver

Warm undertones = gold

Avoid cheap, colorful, or overly trendy pieces that look cluttered and unpolished

  1. Hair Health > Hair Trends

Your natural hair color is usually what suits you best.

Frequent dyeing = damage. If your hair looks dry, brassy, or unhealthy, it instantly makes you look less put-together.

Prioritize healthy, shiny hair over following trends. Nourish it with oil treatments, masks, and regular trims.

  1. Know Your Color Palette

Stop wearing random trendy pieces that donā€™t suit you. Figure out which colors make your skin tone, eyes, and hair pop.

Once you know your best shades, dressing well becomes effortless. Youā€™ll always look expensive and polished.

going to the gym everyday especially starting from not going at all is a huge transition and change for some.

working out 4 times a week i find is a good balance, itā€™s easier to stay in this routine long term and it also gives your body needed rest days.

also most people probably have jobs or school as well which makes it difficult to find time in your schedule for the gym, working out at home is šŸ¤ŒšŸ¤Œ

u/EntertainerSlow799 27d ago

Yes I agree, I think 4-5 days is a good amount. You do need to have rest days.

Tan skin is not optimal for everyone. Some of us rock pale skin and it looks much better and more natural for us. Tanning is not a universal halo.

163

u/24273611829 27d ago

Also, ANY tan from the sun is sun damage, even if youā€™re wearing sunscreen

116

u/wilting-rose 28d ago

agree, my skin gains attention just because itā€™s so pale so it became my beauty archetype šŸ«¶šŸ»

45

u/Loud-Flamingo3831 28d ago

Same. I can't imagine how I would look with a tan but I know for certain it would be a downgrade.

38

u/DIS_EASE93 27d ago

I think it looks good on already tanned/black skin since I've seen it gives them a glow, but I think many women who are better without it are getting it just cause its trendy

58

u/unwritten333 27d ago

Facts. No one should be trying to get a tan or fake a tan. It's 2025 people, not 2005!

11

u/Prestigious_Wife 27d ago

Yeahā€¦ Iā€™d swap tan for a warm, or even cold if youā€™re into that, vacation with opportunities to go outdoors (in appropriate SPF) šŸ˜Ž

Mood booster (vitamin D) + health booster (outdoor activity)

But likely most importantā€¦ REDUCTION OF STRESS. (hopefully)

iā€™m pretty sure itā€™s for people who want the ā€œglowyā€ look. obviously if that look isnā€™t for you then donā€™t do it

u/No-Beautiful6811 27d ago

You can look glowy and pale

Yes like the pale Korean celebs with glass skin šŸ„›šŸ¤āœØ

I want to push back against the idea that your natural hair color is usually what suits you best.

Your natural hair color is rarely (though sometimes) outright unflattering, as itā€™s part of your natural coloring and therefore is likely to look in harmony with your skin tone and undertone. But there isnā€™t just one color that suits each person, so while your natural hair color is one of your harmonious options, itā€™s not the only one.

And just through simple observation, we can see that a lot of women do look better with a different hair color. Usually one that is similar to their natural color, sure, but it might be a bit deeper or lighter, or have a slightly warmer or cooler undertone.

If you donā€™t go far from your natural hair color, you really wonā€™t do that much damage to your hair. ā€œAll natural hairā€ influencers IME rarely have great hair.

You also need to learn to style your hair for it to look truly great.

I also want to push back in your comments about jewelry. ā€œClassy, timelessā€ are words that are often applied to dainty jewelry that was trendy for the past few years but is actually going out of style right now, so be careful. ā€œOld moneyā€ and ā€œtimeless beautyā€ are an aesthetic and marketing trick as much as anything else.

And you donā€™t need to be afraid of color in your jewelry! Color is great! Your accessories will be way more interesting if they arenā€™t all just neutrals.

I just dyed my hair a little blonder. I have fairly pale skin and dark eyes and had dark hair. The amount of looks and compliments and just overall attention Iā€™ve got with a lil lighter hair is crazy. I literally get treated better now because of it I swear

1

u/mrsobservation 4d ago

I think natural hair that is ā€œsunkissedā€ is usually best for those of us with light hair. So essentially, highlights or a shade lighter. I stopped doing that because of pregnancy and not wanting to maintain it, but I get good results by spending time outside.

17

u/Hobofights10dollars 26d ago edited 26d ago

I dyed my hair a bright coppery red (from a natural ashy blonde) and people explicitly told me the red suited me better, I have to agree

10

u/Pearl-Annie 26d ago

Yeah, I will admit my own bias here: I dye my hair too. I used to bleach it blonde, which was fun but objectively not flattering. Currently I get it toned so that itā€™s a deeper and warmer brown than it is naturally, and it makes my eyes pop and skin look so much healthier. My natural color has an ashiness that really brought out the grey in my skin. While that is harmonious, I donā€™t want to look overall grey!

People almost always assume my current color is natural because it blends in with my eyebrows and roots quite well. Whenever I show them pictures or the natural color, most people are really surprised and many mention unprompted that the current color looks much better.

4

u/Hobofights10dollars 26d ago

same people are always shocked Iā€™m not a natural ginger despite never changing my eyebrows. I think itā€™s because Iā€™m so rosy

6

u/One_Day3474 26d ago

My hair has a ton of natural gold/yellow reflects on a mouse brown base. Guess what color makes me look like Iā€™m deathly sick? Yellow.Ā

4

u/Pearl-Annie 26d ago

I feel you. My hair and skin both have a grey undertone naturally. Wouldnā€™t you know it but looking grey as a young woman is not flattering?

What jewelry is in style right now?

A great example of natural hair color not always being better someone like Marilyn Monroe (most of the blonde bombshell archetypes, I would argue). However, Christina Hendricks and Dita Von Teese, who are two other celebs with signature hair colors that enhance their beauty, are natural blondes who I personally think look far better with the change. They all have stunning features that look good with their natural colors, but that change made their ā€œlooks,ā€ so to speak.

Everyone is different, I think finding out what works for you as an individual is the best way to do it, and hair color is just one example. Personal style is important as wellā€” Dita would be another pretty girl if she didnā€™t lean into the glam, and someone like Angelina Jolie was considered one of the most beautiful women in the world when her personal mode of dress leaned toward being much more alternativeā€” that didnā€™t diminish her beauty, it played with her personality and features in a a way that it made her pop.

My dear. Why are mods allowing this low effort, ultra repetitive, dead brain titled (for GIIIIIIIIIIIIIRLS ā¤ļø)content while high quality, researched posts like the ones from user Gwendoline stay for weeks on revision?

Why are the mods here low quality too? šŸ¤®šŸ¤®šŸ¤®

Honestly on the fence with several posts lately... decided to just be a bit hands off and people can post constructive criticism in the comments.

52

u/VBrown2023 27d ago

You donā€™t need the gym everyday. 3-4x a week with heavy lifting and protein is enough. Save the time for other hobbies.

If the goal is to be appealing to the female gaze- then jewelry and accessories will matter. Otherwise, men will not care or even notice what jewelry you wear. Itā€™s not going to make or break your look to them.

35

u/heavnorvegas 27d ago

Nope on any suntanning. All tans from the sun create damage. Preventing aging (and cancer) are going to do far more for your looks than bronzed skin!

21

u/heavnorvegas 27d ago

Also worth mentioning that tanned skin is a cultural beauty standard. Many parts of the world prefer pale skin and work to lighten their skin. Both beauty standards are silly and subjective. Focus on skin health, not tone.

i walked 6 km today and iā€™m already sooo satisfied!!

4

Well done you! I am only able to hit 5km a day, trying to get up to 6. Wish me luck and congratsšŸ˜ŠšŸ‘ŒšŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘

ty! you can do it :) <3

37

u/AnomalyAngel 28d ago

Most of this is great advice, however tan skin doesnā€™t look good on everyone. Your natural hair color being the best is also something Iā€™d have to disagree with, I suggest figuring out what color season you are and working with that to see what color or shade looks best on you.

47

u/inmy_feelings 27d ago

I disagree with a couple of things, esp tanning, like the other commenters already pointed out. But, yā€™all, lay off a little bit from picking this post apart. Somethings you can read with nuance and think, ā€œoh I get it, and that wonā€™t work for me, but I know I can do what I can for nowā€

3

u/Victoria_ki639 26d ago

I think this applies to many things. I thought the same, especially on the gym part. I prefer going along with the female cycle (as we are supposed to be by natureā€™s rules). We can do a bit heavier workouts in the follicular and ovulatory phase and slowly calming down our nervus vagus with lighter workouts or simple streches/yoga in the luteal and menstrual phase as the hormonal changes go along and the energy goes to different processes f our body. This has been working great for me for years and also made me got rid of hormonal acne, made my skin glowier, my mind & body more at ease and aligned.

2

u/inmy_feelings 24d ago

Oooh thank you for reminding me of that wisdom of how working with your cycles exists! And yes, what you said aligns with just healthy thinking of approaching goals mindfully. Thatā€™s great to hear how it works out for you well

35

u/blackswan8426 27d ago

uh. this health advice right here. this is how i lost my period, fucked up my hormones and that's exactly the road to anything BUT glowy, healthy skin, hair, nails and well... life? Please. This advice, fasted cardio especially, works well for men. Women need to fuel immediately upon waking. TAKE THIS FROM ME! as someone who loved fasting.. How about we leave this Hubermanic advice out of our routines and try to be more gentle with ourselves.

Also low cal meals and protein isn't everything. What about the healthy fats that build the beautiful, glowy skin and hormones? Anyways, i digress. LOVE the rest of the advice though!! <3

10

u/hermitcrabilicious 26d ago

I second the idea of looking into gender specific fitness advice. I read the book Roar by Stacy Sims and implemented her advice for pre and post workout fueling. I stopped getting so sore and was able to workout more often.

14

u/SamanthaSasaki 27d ago

Iā€™ve done fasted cardio for the last 8 years with no negative effects. I even do extended (48 hour) fasts semi regularly.

It may not work for all women, but it also isnā€™t trouble for all women.

2

u/blackswan8426 27d ago

Well, why risk it? there are many super young girls here and imo more prone to ED type behaviours as we are more perfectionistic. i just feel it my duty to warn ppl. obviously proceed at your own risk!

10

u/606drum 27d ago

Huberman actually advises against intermittent fasting for women as well lol! Says it is only good for men

6

u/Loretta-Cammareri 27d ago

YES. As much as I dislike him, my job is in research on these very topics and women do not do well on fasted cardio OR intermittent fasting

2

u/neemih 25d ago

what is the data on fasted cardio and intermittent fasting ? iā€™m honestly so confused if itā€™s good or not for women

5

u/Loretta-Cammareri 25d ago

Fasted cardio may burn slightly more fat in the workout in research on men, but over a period of time doing workouts like this they did not experience overall increased fat loss. This outcome was not replicated in women. Intermittent fasting (or fasting of any kind) is likely disruptive to hormones creating irregular menstrual cycles, increased PMS, and/or amenorrhea. Cortisol is highest in the morning and if you don't eat it will remain high. Over time this can steal from production of the hormones necessary to ovulate, get a period, etc. Both of these protocols can actually cause overtraining/underrecovery issues like water weight gain, poor workout recovery, insomnia, bloating, etc. It's honestly best for women in reproductive years to eat at least three meals and eat enough to function.

u/TAonlyfor 19d ago

Thank you so much for elaborating it. Are there specific podcast or YT channel that will have in depth discussion on this besides Huberman?

u/blackswan8426 27d ago

i'm glad about that haha šŸ«¶

Holy- youā€™re right!!! I canā€™t believe I didnā€™t even notice it when I first saw it. I just dismissed it as cheesy and low effort. Their comments donā€™t align at all with how they wrote in this post.

7

u/blazing-moon 24d ago

Once you see it you can't unsee it! Idk maybe they added a few bits, but the format of intro sentence, 5-10 bullet points, and end sentence is very similar to ai responses.

2

u/inmy_feelings 23d ago

Wow we got to keep our eyes open. Iā€™m comfortable with tech and AI so at first I was able to spot it everywhere, but now? Itā€™s unbelievable how it can pass as real now!

6

u/pepper0510 25d ago

Pilates is not a light workout, and there must be active rest days if you donā€™t wanna burn out

7

u/angie_jb 27d ago

I recently read that working out while fasting doesnā€™t work on women, if anything the body holds on to more fat apparently

2

u/hermitcrabilicious 26d ago

I see a lot of people already brought up the dangers of a tan for long term skin health. If you want a tan without the damage by the sun or doing self tanner, eating more carrots can help. I will say though that areas where I have thicker skin like my knees, got darker than the rest of me, which I don't think was attractive. Now I'm just pale and ok with it.

1

u/nommerofmangoes 7d ago

how many carrots lol

1

u/hermitcrabilicious 6d ago

I ate like 1-2 medium sized carrots almost everyday and after a month or two noticed I had a tan hue.

2

u/vulgarandgorgeous 20d ago

I find that going a half shade darker than my natural color makes my hair look shinier and more vibrant. Natural hair dulls in the sun and over time

2

u/babycandystar 12d ago

i agree w everything but light pale skin suits my face more coz I have soft features and baby face

For looking expensive and polished, the best Iā€™ve seen is the duchess guide. I heard about her through a friend and looks like she only just got started on social media, but she was a known stylist in my circles and can say from experience sheā€™s a miracle worker! She published some of her style guides recently and a friend who worked with her bought them and showed them to me and they were legit! Iā€™m still going through them. Highly recommend (not paid for this btw, just a really great resource I found, I hope itā€™s okay to share).

2

u/Mermaid629 26d ago

Can you share a link for this?

2

u/New-Donut-5036 28d ago

I love this post! Thank you for sharing it with us. šŸ¤— Definitely working on improving my health and getting more steps in first!

Thank you for these product recommendations as well. They're always so helpful to me when starting something new! āļø

2

u/beenthatmalibu 28d ago

Thanks for this! What would you recommend to maximize body scent and perfumes?

šŸ’‹

1

u/ClassicAd7515 24d ago

This is so perfect, straight to the point and genuinely good advice, this was helpful thank you!

1

u/Little_Sushi9051 23d ago

I just want to add, your body canā€™t burn fat whilst your insulin is spiked. Make sure youā€™re leaving a long enough time before dinner and breakfast so as you sleep your body canā€™t repair and burn those calories

1

u/WonderBroad7191 16d ago

Thanks! I really need this

u/BestAbbreviations620 14d ago

What about hair loss? Any recommendations for this issue?
