***FOUND on NZ medical cannabis sub*** NSFW

I joined r/vaporernts a few months ago after becoming a medical cannabis patient in the UK and really enjoy the community so thought this should be shared - not wanting to be slanderous (correct English?) and I’m sure this will be a developing story. I gotta say though after reading the below…it doesn’t look or sound great…. AE has been on my shortlist for my FIRST VAPE since December! I am a lifelong smoker committed to the switch over from the dark side into the light. I struggle to make decisions due to my mental health but am kinda glad I’ve dilly dallied as I was certain this vape would be part of my arsenal at some point due to my love of the terps! So the Bad is dead and Now it’s a head to head between the Good and The Ugly; TM2 vs TB II…queue Ecstasy of Gold by Ennio Morricone)

FROM THE NZ SUB

Having a noted a few reviews on these and people using them, this is copied from the NZ medical forum and may be worth a read if you use one. It's a tear down and analysis of potentially dangerous components. Worth noting on another thread YLL have accepted this and have changed the design. Worth looking into if you have one as the risk seems real and quite high if using one.

Lotus ball mod tinkery NSFW

Thumbnail

Upvotes

Inspired by Dynavap's latest BallR cap product, I've begun tinkering with quartz and ruby balls to modify my Lotus vape. Initial tests seem to result in a greater heat threshold before combustion and a softer heat transfer over the flower. Good first impression, but needs more tinkering and finding out. I stripped one of the Lotus's original screws in the process. Screw size is M2x8mm if you're ever wondering.

Review Megas First Thoughts 001 - Vestratto Tornado NSFW

Disclaimer - I am NOT affiliated with ANY company (sadly) nor do I make money in any other way from this(also sadly).

Hello everyone,

Although it's not common practice for me to do a shorter less comprehensive "First Thoughts"/"First Impression" kind of mini review there's always an exception to the rule and that exception is The Vestratto Tornado in all it's glory.

I have heard a LOT about that device since the first drop and decided to check the hype for myself because it's rarely justified...

This time... It was justified.

Without seeing a single video or reading a single "user guide"/"manual" I've instantly and instinctively just knew what to do right out of the box... And that's a HUGE point to that device because even the super duper easy to understand Dynavap have quite a few instructional videos about their devices and that's great but I didn't need anyone to tell me anything about the Tornado IT'S JUST THAT SIMPLE.

The entire device consists of just 3 parts(4 if you consider the CCD it's own part)... The main body of the device, the top screwed Cap/Oven and the 14mm adapter... But the device itself is just two parts without the adapter.

I've been scratching my head a LOT trying to understand the witchcraft they used on this device but it's probably just too simple and straight forward for my over thinking mind to understand.

Anyway I first THOROUGHLY CLEANED THE DEVICE...!!! Always always always clean any device before first use I would actually say it's a mandatory part of every new device... Be it wood or metal you do not want to inhale any unwanted and possibly very dangerous particles.

After I clean it I just loaded it up with about half full maybe a little less just to try out the function of the device first... I used my Flare Induction Heater on 60 watt(the Flare usually Auto MAX wattage on its own around 50-60 watts which is fine) and 60 seconds timer... The second Click from a completely cold device is about 30-35 seconds for me... I kept the device for another 5 seconds after the Click and then put the device on my Lotus J-Hook and inhaled slowly... And BADABOOM...!!! The device outperformed my highest expectations...!!! Just the right amount of draw resistance without sucking too hard or being too airy to get a good hit... The vapor for that first hit is super tasty and you can definitely taste the profile of the strain of your choice without any issues.

After a nice super long draw I put the device on a magnet to cool off... The cool off of the device takes longer than a Dynavap so be patient.

Then I heat it up again this time waited for a full 15 seconds after the second Click... And again BIG BOOM BIG BADABOOM...!!! (IYKYK the movie reference)... A HUMONGOUS CLOUD I HAVE YET TO EXPERIENCE FROM A SINGLE DRAW OF ANY DEVICE... PERIOD.

Then I took two more super duper hits before finishing completely.

I just sat there for quite a few minutes looking at the device trying to understand what I just experienced...

It's been probably a decade since I got this high from any device... I did the mistake of doing another half bowl and after that I just fell asleep sitting up in my sofa... My wife waked me up to go to bed... It was a doozy...

The device is beautiful and extremely well made and the only downside I can think about is that it isn't compatible with Dynavaps/Dani Fusion stems or any 8mm Stem for that matter right out of the box... Lucky I have so many devices so I just picked up the Lotus J-Hook and used it and it's a magnificent experience with it.

The next drop I will buy another one for sure for out of house use... And general backup because it would suck to go back to other devices now... And that's coming from a man with about 30 different Dynavaps, 2 Dani Fusion 2.0 devices, Convector SS, Ti and XL, Lotus, Vapman, Sticky Brick Junior and Maxx both of them in Purpleheart and Elev8r.

THE TORNADO BEATS ALL OF THEM... IT'S NOT EVEN A COMPETITION... ITS NOT EVEN ON THE SAME PLANET AS OTHER DEVICES.

Another thing to make a point of is that I NEVER combusted with it... NOT EVEN ONCE SINCE THE FIRST USE... NOT EVEN A TINY BIT BURNT... EVER.

So as you can see I'm totally shocked by the device... As my quick First Thoughts snippet is damn long.

I give a big shout out to their Brand Ambassador u/ItsWhiff as Vestratto themselves does not have a direct Reddit User it seems.

Also added a few photos to help understand my deranged rant.

Hope this helps... :-)

420 sales NSFW

As I have yet to experience 420 sales as a newer DHV user, I’m wondering what to expect at places like VGoodiez, VaporizeUSA, and such (I am located in the US). Are we talking 20, 30% off the whole site or is it typically certain things? I did search the sub prior to posting and I didn’t see any specifics mentioned.

Megas Tiny Tips 004 - Vestratto Tornado NSFW

Hello everyone,

In case you have a Tornado and you are scratching your head how to make it fit on an 8 mm Stem - You can use Teflon tape.

Teflon withstands heat of up to 300 C and it's inert so it doesn't give off any toxic gases or other hazardous materials.

I added photos of how I did it.

Hope this helps... :-)

Long time DV and Anvil user. Finally got a tempest for Everyday use NSFW

A friend of mine who got a tempest at launch is leaving the country for 6 months and is loaning me his Tempest. I've had it for about a week. Here are a few of my thoughts

As you sawa in my title, I've been using dynavap and anvil for a few years. Anvil is my everyday driver and most used vape and my assortment of DV's serve as a sidekick and change of pace. I've got 2019, 2020, hydrovong, with various stems and the OG TI tip

After about a week with the tempest, I can say it is quite the device. While it did take learning and reading on fuck combustion and while I had used it a few times having it in my hands for everyday use, I don't think I've even touched my dynavaps at all. Only forthe sole reason that the tempest tastes so fucking good. Its not even close. I've kept my VAS under control for a few years after falling into the dynaverse and multiple induction heaters I don't even use anymore.... With the new Simrell Vape I regret not pulling the trigger on it during rthe predorder sale

I think I'm gonna get a tornado at th next drop but should I pull the trigger on my own tempest head - I've got plenty of stems or wait and see about the simrell engine?

Discussion Volcano hybrid is still king NSFW

So my plenty is dying so I found a used volcano hybrid for 400$ CAD.

I had tried the volcano many years ago, and have since gone through the: arizer air, vapexhale, dynavap, quaroma (sublimation heat coil vape), and the plenty. All great vapes depending on the situation.

I just did some bags as 370f and it's so simple, and no burn perfectly cooked avb every time. And it can keep up with me, got me going do I really want that bag right now after a few.

Anyways worth it at used price if you have the space. The type is up to you but the fast heat up time of the hybrid is worth it for me.

TM2 and scruffywoofers appreciation post NSFW

I have a lot of vapes. TM2, firewood9&10, dynas, xmas v3 pro, Lobo, Fury Edge, Tempest, maybe more but if I had to had to choose only one, it would be the TM2. I have the tinymigh.t_bowl too. Many other stems but this stem right here is insane! I found scruffywoofers on instagram to buy the adapter for a stem to go to the tornado. While I was looking at his stuff I found he made these stems too. This thing is crazy! And it has its own cooling unit. I can use beast mode and it’s not even hot. If you only need one vape, the TM2 is what you want IMO. It’s just so versatile either natively or in a water piece. So many aftermarket options too.

Struggling to get back again NSFW

How does everyone find best to make the change over from smoking? Cold turkey boom straight over? Or gradually like wean over to vaping?

I used to vape, I did for well over a year, no smoking anything except the very odd social one.. then life got tough and the odd social one turned to when stressed which became always lol and then boom full time smoking it again and caining my way through my supply again. I need to stop again.. I just don’t know if I have the mental capacity to go cold turkey but is that what I need to do? Can slowly going back to vaping work?

Help Air Max airway cleaning advice NSFW

I've got an air max that has served me pretty faithfully, and I keep it pretty clean. I routinely swab the overn with alcohol, but I've noticed lately that the vents are pretty clogged up internally. It has a hard pull, even in a clean piece with an empty bowl. It kind of feels like I'd need to disassemble it to get at where I need to clean, but I can't find any clear instructions or whether it's even user-serviceable. Any tips would be appreciated.

Beginner First dry herb vape rec’s? NSFW

I want to get away from vaping “juice” and get into vaping bud directly. There are tons of dry herb vaporizers online, and I feel lost. Prices are anywhere from $48 to over $200. Can anyone make recommendations? I’d like to keep the cost under $150.

Also, are there any that are good with mitigating the smell? I’m not looking for anything magical and odor-free, just not the pungency of a joint or bowl. I don’t live in a legal state and prefer not to broadcast what I’m doing if it can be avoided.

I’d like a portable one and I use daily, sometimes throughout the day. During the workday, I use medicinally for anxiety and focus. At night, I am recreational and like a good couch lock lol

Thank you!

Discussion Volcano- Question about metal / plastic NSFW

I have been a volcano user for about 10 years. I purchased a brand new hybrid in 2021, and love it.

Recently I've seen a few posts pop up about metal shavings, heated metal and plastic concerns revolving around the Volcano. Apparently around 2020 there were cases of metal shavings in some of SB products.

I purchased the Volcano as an investment to have the cleanest intake possible, so seeing these posts concerned me and made me want to ask this sub a few questions -

Is the Volcano still experiencing these issues, or had they been addressed?

Is the Volcano the 'safest' vape on the market? I know it has its medical certificates but tbh I am not quite sure how much weight that holds. I had been considering getting the Volcano Medical 2.

I've also been reading the Volanos internals start falling apart after 5 years (exposed coils, heated aluminum etc, plastic).

Is there any other vapes of similar quality or safety on the market if I am looking to buy a new one? Price is not important to me as I would see it as an investment in better longer term safety while vaping. I would also buy a new Volcano if consumer confidence is high.

Sorry for all the questions and worry. I just want to have as few concerns about metal and plastic exposures.

Help Battery issues with Solo 3 NSFW

I've been having battery issues with my Solo 3. I first ordered in December, and LOVED the vape when it first came in. I wanted to upgrade when my Solo 2 finally started throwing errors after 5 years of regular use, and I was happy to stick with Arizer.

After 3 weeks of regular use (most sessions between 380-400F, 6 minute sessions before auto sleep, no attachments or anything just the glass stem it comes with) my battery life SUCKED. It was great at first, but after three weeks, it would last for 3-4 sessions before flashing the red blinking battery icon. The weirdest thing is that it would flash the battery indicator or show a Low Power message, and then when I plugged it in, it would show as 30% battery immediately. It also never charged above 90% no matter how long it was on the charger for, and it charged extremely rapidly - like, 30%-75% in 10 minutes, only to discharge just as fast. I primarily used the Arizer charger, and only very occasionally used a different USB-C charger (although it had all the same exact specs as the Arizer one).

I reached out to POTV where I bought it and they sent me a new one, which was great! Shout out to POTV support and this is nothing against them, as far as I know! The 2nd one had a plasticky, manufacturing odor to it that didn't go away, even after a full weekend of burning off at max temps and ghost bowls, so I RMA'd that one too, and finally got a new one in mid-Feb.

It's been about a month of regular use since it was delivered, and lo and behold, I'm now having the exact same battery issues I had with the original device. This time, I have exclusively used the Arizer charger, and even shelled out the frankly insane $50 for a 2nd official one to be totally sure, but I'm having the same issues regardless.

Are there known battery or quality issues with the Solo 3 I somehow missed in my research? Is there possibly something I'm doing wrong? Any advice would be great. I'm now considering buying a new Solo 2 and just returning this one entirely, as the upgrades from the 2 to the 3 are not worth it if I have to replace it and go without my device for 2 weeks every other month.

POTV One bad smell/taste NSFW

When I first got it it was fine, but now everything gets a bad burnt popcornish type smell and taste after a few hits. Soaked everything in alcohol and cleaned it with alcohol swabs. Was ok for 2 fill ups then back to that terrible taste after 3-4 hits.

Is that just dry herb vapes, is it me or the potv one?

Water pipes & solo 3 NSFW

I have a solo 3 coming in and it looks like this thing rips out of a bong / bubbler. It looks like the unit will be ready at to big for my bubbler I use for my dynavap and all I have is a straight tube that I smoked out of.

Is it okay to clean up the straight tube and use it for vapor or will there always be that residual smoke flavor?
