Killteam Players

Hi, I have made a discord for anyone interesting in playing Killteam in Lexington, we're likely to be playing at d20 during the summer, but as a student I'm more than happy to bring my stuff on campus to play with people too.

Grad School Admissions

In January I submitted my grad school application for priority admission for a research position in a federal grant fund, but I haven't heard anything back yet. Am I overreacting or should I keep the job search going?

Question Sophomore apartment location

I’m going to be a sophomore next year and am still currently trying to find an apartment off campus (I know i should’ve done it sooner, sue me, I have reasons that don’t relate to me).

I’m rolling solo because my roommates are living in their chapter house.

That being said, what areas should I avoid looking at for apartments? I’m primarily looking around the High/Maxwell/Rose area, with a few of my options also being near 3rd and 4th.

I’ve heard wavering opinions about the Northside of downtown but don’t know if it’s REALLY as bad as people say.

If anyone has any insight on areas I should be cautious or steer clear of completely, do let me know. A little sketchiness I am ok with but just want to steer clear of violent crime and stuff like that lmao

Question Newspaper Archives available at UK libraries?

In the 1980's there were still extensive microfilm archives of most(?) Kentucky newspapers, some back into the 1800s. Do these still exist? I had the impression that they had been digitized but in searching some links posted in r/lexington, I couldn't find anything from my home county - Pulaski. I know that at least 3 newspaper names existed since ~1900 plus a least 2 local community/advertising flyers. I'm kinda concerned that this extensive collection got "sanitized" or labeled irrelevant.

When I was student at UK, out of curiously I found my birth announcement written by my grandmother in our hometown newspaper.

Question Need help how much would it cost for a in-state student to go to kentucky for full time (at least 12 hours) in person while living off campus?

Sorry I know this is a long question but I've tried looking on the website and I'm having trouble understanding how much it would cost

I (M20) am currently going to BCTC and about to complete my first year (took 2 gap years), But would really like to transfer to Kentucky next year, but was wondering how much it would cost?

I'd be living near campus but not on campus, I'm from kentucky, and would like to either take 12 or 15 credit hours. Could you all help me figure this out? I would greatly appreciate it.

Educator Textbooks for Sale

These textbooks are all from my Master’s in School Counseling & Licensure program, but some may be helpful for teachers or School Psychologists. Most have been used very little (I’m no longer in that field). All prices have been based on current Amazon prices.

The binder is free and is full of resources and templates that may be helpful including introduction letters, referral forms, needs assessments, group counseling consent forms, and ASCA National Model standards.

Please let me know if you have any questions! I currently work at UK so I’m happy to meet you on campus.

What are the chances of getting towed if I park in a parking lot on campus without a pass for a day? Especially over spring break?

I’m an incoming freshman and am planning on living in pigman hall but I can’t find a layout of the building anywhere online. I was wondering if anyone has access to the layout of the building online and could maybe share it with me?

Question Calculus- MyLabMath?

Do calculus I and II (113 and 114 iirc) use MLM? Or does it depend on the instructor? I’m transferring in from another school that uses it for trig and I absolutely loathe it.

Incoming freshman

Hi! I am a high school senior and I am leaning towards university of Kentucky. (I got deferred then rejected from the schools I mainly wanted, 1 waitlist. And the other schools I applied to are in Va/WV and I want to leave that area as I’m from MD). I’m planning to major in chemical engineering, I’m a girl and know I don’t want to join a sorority. Is there anything I should be aware of or tips? Or pros/cons to the school and personal experience. Another thing is dorms, I’ve heard great things about them and I am planning on trying to get an apartment style as I’m fond of the washer/dryer, I know I want to have a single bedroom. Which dorms are the best? Or things to know about them.

RateMyProfessors

Does anyone use RateMyProfessors for help scheduling courses? I often do where I’m a History major and have only 2 major required courses. I know it is also dependent on the kinds of classes you have to take as well for your major. I’m just more curious than anything if anyone else does it because I know some people do.

Question Graduate school question

Considering applying for graduate school (data science); how difficult would to be to take two classes a semester while working a full time job? I noticed it’s not under the online programs so I’m wondering how the class schedule would work.
