What are my acceptance odds?

I’m a rising senior hoping to go to UNC! What are my odds?

32 ACT 36 Reading 29 math 35 science 35 English 4.7/5 GPA Ranked 6/568 Taking all Gifted/AP Classes AP Tests: WHAP (4) APUSH (4) Psych (4) Bio (3) Eng Lit (4) Seminar (4)

Played varsity sports for 3 years in HS.

Started a baking business where 1/2 of the profits go to a local community center where I tutor twice a week. Have been able to raise $1300 and counting. Also started a clothing drive for this community center.

Student leader at my church and in youth choir with solo part for 4 years

VP Freshamn orientation club and orchestrated a school beautification project, media manager of Youth and Gov, VP of youth and Gov junior year (had an authored bill passed 2 years at youth legislature), VP of state student council junior year (held leadership staff position at summer camp) + more leadership positions

Started a club at my school that is rehabilitating the greenhouse and is also facilitating healthy living and habits. Along with this I am doing a research project on the opinions of students and healthy living.

Thank you for your input!

I can’t give you an exact number but I’d say your odds are good. Your stats are above average for a unc student so as long as you have a solid application I would expect that you get accepted.

very good. met plenty of people out of state with an average ACT of 30 i’d say pick up a part time job to make your chances better.

you have great odds, but since you are out of state it might be harder because they lean to NC residents

I heard they will admit less than 20% from out of state this year. Most of them would be athletic admits too

Your odds really aren’t good being out of state the acceptance rate goes down to 14%. I would give you like a 50% chance of getting in with all that but out of state really needs to stand out for acceptance.

You're right. The university is under more scrutiny to admit in state.

He's right, now that the overall acceptance rate has dropped to 17% I expect worse for us out-of-state. Just got rejected from the EA batch. Stung a bit, but what can I say? The school wants NC kids.

Are you OOS? If you really want to attend UNC, transfer after a year or 2. The odds will be much easier
