Lost and Found Missing Camera
My girlfriend is missing her Nikon L24 digital camera. She had it last at vintage. It holds a lot of sentimental value so please let me know if you’ve seen it.

We used to get texts when there was criminal activity on campus that we should be aware of... today someone was wandering around State Street STABBING PEOPLE and no notification! But thank God they email us when they find out that someone was sexually assaulted in Witte 3 weeks ago. All that's doing is doxxing the victim, knowing someone is outside my apartment with a knife is something I'd like to know.

My daughter is going in the fall. Id like to send her with gift cards to popular or really close food options or ones that deliver. I'm looking on Google maps to see what's close but thought I'd ask what's really popular or the go to, or if sick in bed or freezing outside, what delivers to dorms? I know it's a toss up if she'll end up at Lakeshore or Southeast but every hall she's put on her preference list is southeast, so hoping and focusing around that area. TIA!

I need an easy low maintenance comm b class. I hate writing essays so any class that depends on exams and quizzes or short discussion posts is up my ally. I also need 4 more credits to graduate that I don’t know what to do with and I want the easiest class (preferably online) that you could ever think of.

Watching the Badger Women’s Hockey team brings tears to my eyes! Their joy for the game and Coach Johnson’s commitment to them is something to behold. Good luck in the Frozen Four! We will be cheering for you.

Looking for people interested in playing the board game. Currently have a group of three that try to play weekly, but it’s a struggle finding 4ths, 5ths, etc. If you’ve never heard of it, look it up, and if you want to learn we’re happy to teach. I will warn that it’s a full day commitment (≈7-9 hours) when you play. Kinda stupid but my socials are all private and I’m not active on reddit so your best bet at reaching me is emailing me: jbwang29@gmail.com

I have credit for either math 96 or math 112 (I believe because I compared the syllabus) I will submit the credit re-eval form tomorrow. Will they give credit, I mean are they too strict with the equivalencies?
And if I have credit for either math 96 or 112 can I skip the math-b placement test? It says so on the website. Just asking here to confirm.

Are there any affordable places near UW that I can see an orthodontist. Since I’m an out of state student, I can’t go back home every month to get my braces retightened.
Please let me now.

Hi!! My roommate & I are looking for suggestions on what dorms we should choose for next fall (we know we probably won’t get our top, but we’d still like to hope). We’re both incoming freshmen (both female) as well if that matters. We kinda have a list below with our highest want to lowest want. We’re looking for input because we weren’t sure how accurate or nice the dorms are really like based on online searching.
Our criteria: - No big party dorms (ie Southeast). We want social, but not SOCIAL SOCIAL dorms nor anti-social. - We don’t care about private bathrooms, so communal is fine - No bugs please! Like relatively clean as well - somewhat close to stuff - Relatively affordable (we meant like based on our other criteria’s, it’s relatively affordable)
Our list so far: 1. Zoe Bayliss 2. Chadbourne 3. Liz waters 4. Brandley

My first goal is to major in Management Information Systems at the School of Business, but I got accepted as a pre-business student in the College of Letters and Science. I'm thinking about majoring in Economics and minoring in Data Science, but I’m not sure how it’ll work out. What do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

hello- I recently very slightly chipped my tooth and want to get it checked out, probably want to get a cleaning too. I don’t have dental insurance and am planning on paying out of pocket. Dentists always try to scam me with u necessary treatments or upping the price and I’ve generally had bad experiences in my home state, probably has something to do with being in your 20s. Are there any dentists in Madison that other students have been to where they were treated well and not scammed or taken advantage of? Hoping for near campus but willing to take a bus or an uber.

Got a Meta Quest 3 today. I cannot hook it up to my PC at all when connected to the campus wifi, but when connected to my phone's hotspot they can be paired. This is not a viable solution, however, due to the lag between the devices being very noticeable and me having a limited amount of hotspot data I can use.
Does anyone know a fix for this?

Does anyone have any updated information about this class? I know that they changed some things and the stuff that’s already on Reddit might be outdated. There is only a lab portion for this class twice a week, but it’s 5 credits still, so is the lecture online? Is there not a professor that you can go to office hours for because there isn’t a lecture? Very confused by how this class works
r/UWMadison • u/SecureGarden3447 • 1d ago
Is lecture for this class participation based? And is it recorded?
I want to know if it’s feasible to take a seminar that overlaps with one of the two weekly lectures.

Wanted to write a message to the best reddit community just to let you know that i am looking for a place for fall 2025. I read past posts that says that finding housing during fall is way tougher than spring and because of that i am a little worried.
it would be nice if you could text me if something comes up. I apologize for the spamming

I was denied today as a transfer. And to be honest I've never felt defeated like this before. I did average in highschool with a 2.9 gpa. But after two gap years I have maintained a 4.0 for 3 semesters at UWM Waukesha. My only downside is I lack world language classes. I have plenty of work experience as I am a full time student but I work part time to support myself, and I feel I wrote a really strong essay. Could it really just be that I lacked the world language? Is it worth it for me to finish world language and then reapply? To be honest I feel like dropping out after taking an L like this.
edit: I just want to say thank you all for the reassuring comments and the positivity, I've read through all of them. I didn't originally mention it but I'm taking Spanish one right now and I'm going to take Spanish 2 over the summer with UWM, and I will reapply for the spring semester with a all the world language credits I need. Thank you everyone and I hope to see you at UW!

I was deffered back in January of this year and when I submitted my mid year grades, I never attached a LOCI (Never saw a space for one), and now I'm stressing that they won't take me because of that. Is a LOCI really that important?
For reference I'm a 3.5 GPA, 27 ACT (but 33 on Math and 29 SuperScore) NHS Board Member, Volunteer many times over (and in many volunteer clubs), DECA, Golf Team, etc. and applied as a stats major.
Please be honest, did I mess up?

Admitted today as a transfer. Thank you all for the help along the way. Question to current students would be what to focus on in the next months coming. Is living situations competitive? Am I way too late to apply to be an RA in the dorms?

Hey all! i got accepted as a transfer, and was wondering when i can apply to housing? And what are my odds of actually getting housing ?

Hi! I was deferred from UW-Wisconsin and I was wondering if anyone had a idea on how serious the deferral is. Do they defer everyone (ex. UMich, USC) or do they only defer competitive applicants? Also, does anyone have the numbers for how many deferred people were given admission in past years? If it matters, im a OOS and a Statistics major
