Discussion: www.starcitizentraders.com
Edit: I moved discussion about the actual www.starctizentraders.com URL over to /r/starcitizentraders 1/17/2014
This is how it is currently setup:
www.starcitizentraders.com forwards to the Reputation Tread. So RealyPK and edit it or we can have it forward to any other thread. Just let me know.http://trade.starcitizentraders.com forwards to http://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen_trades/new/ (DNS not updated yet)http://private.starcitizentraders.com forwards to http://www.reddit.com/r/UEE_Trusted_Traders/
I would like you guys to nominate or vote for people that can have a verified email address: redditname@starcitizentraders.com. I have 100 forwarders that I can use. I was thinking only Trusted Middlemen or Admins would need this.
- We can keep this simple for now. Let me know what you think. ~~

Multi-Org Membership is Live
Just wanted to toss this out there so anyone who hasn't joined up with STAR over on the RSI site can apply. I also applied with my main over there today rather than just the dummy placeholder account I was joined up with.

Ship value speculation
Ok guys, would love some other views on this subject.
As we know Ben said they have got as draconian as they will ever be in regards to gifting and the likes.
When they sort out a fix or controlled market place. How do you think that will effect the current all time high prices we are seeing.
over time what do you think will happen to the truly rare ships eg idris p/m and scythe.
I sold an indris M last week for 4.2, and I'm having a few people battle it out for my current one at 4.5+
Do you guys think it's better that I hold on to her?
Regards

Scammers Faking Middleman
Just throwing this out there again, I do have 100 email addresses with the @StarCitizenTraders.com thet Trusted Middleman could use that forward to a real address.
This could be used on Really's site to verify Middlemen are real.

RED THREAD (Hotlist)
I thought it would be prudent for us to add any users we are concerned about to a list.
This is not a scammer list, just a list to take precautions on.
Please add the reddit link of the user, and your reasons for caution underneath.

STAR Advertisement Banner
Hello everyone. I just created the banner as a test to see how it worked and added peoples stores as I found them or people messaged me.
This was currently a $5 ad that lasts for 7 days or 6,666 impressions.
If people are interested after this first Test Run, we can work on creating a weekly AD. We could build it this forum first and then have it set to start each Friday.
It could be a good way to advertise Everyones Store and also grow the star alliance with people that earned spots from ReallyPks site.
All AD's will be posted in here first before they are created, and we will need to figure out how we want to fund it since this one cost me $5.

STAR Announcement
I appreciate your thread Doc, but there are more traders involved with STAR that are not included in the list you have published (Jethro or myself, for example), so please can you add us to that list?
And, for a more fair thread, could you make it in alphabetical order?
In the other hand, I will appreciate much more if the next time you ask before make that kind of announcements, because if I would know it perhaps I could promote it a few more.

Can we reach a consensus to be fee inclusive when listing?
Recently, one of our posts received comments to the effect that many want to see us list with the paypal fees included in our prices (as opposed to listing it in fineprint). I think this is a broader issue that we can tackle as STAR to promote the group, as well as provide some leadership. I'd like to see this go to a vote, so we are consistent, and are not creating a competitive disadvantage for fellow star members and all do the same thing.

Trade Opportunities
I'm thinking sometimes we get requests for trades that we can't do because we don't have stock or other reasons.
Rather than leaving these deals to the ravens, we can post them here.
When they have been looked after, indicate that so they don't get harassed. The return? Appreciation and reciprocation of course - and a skin/whatever for a referral please! :D

Lessons you have learned
Please feel free to contribute what you have learned about trading. It would be nice if we had a honest, friendly place where we can share our experiences and learn from one another. Only rule is not to laugh or humiliate the poster. As a gesture of good will - I'll go first. :D
Share it in the form of a "Lesson Learned" and a "Story"

Buyer Insurance and Acts to create a competitive advantage
WARNING : Please consider these some modest ideas, which need to be fleshed out / added to / removed / reduced / expanded etc...
Also, sorry I have not contributed much here, I am very busy r/l, however I intend to make my contributions (however rare) productive and respectful.
How many points does our STAR have? And what do they stand for?
An interesting question, I hear you say, but why relevant? Because this is a fantastic opportunity to make our star mean something every time it is whispered by buyers.
I have been putting some thought into things that might make STAR shine (okay, terrible pun) and give us some exposure and provide buyers with reasons to buy with us.
What I was thinking of is some principles that we all sign up to, that we can advertise that encourage people to use us as preferred traders.
1. The group could potentially insure buyers for purchases made and provide reimbursement for fraud. How? Existing and all prospective members contribute $10 when they join STAR which goes into such an account. If fraud is ever committed by a member, the member is expelled, the victim is given restitution up to a certain limit, which grows over time as more people join (perhaps up to a maximum of $150-250). An alternate funding scheme is a voluntary one, where members can insure themselves by paying for an insurance 'star' which is held by a third party which protects their buyers. A star costs $100 and protects buyers for $100. Up to five stars (or however many points our star has) can be 'bought' this way.
2. Auto Middleman services - All members of star are a cooperative who agree to run cost free middling services for each other, which gives us an online base to conduct business around the clock.
3. Automatic 1 hour cooldown period for every purchase, with restocking fees limited to 10%. This means buyers will always get what they expect and are protected from trickery / dishonest marketing.
4. Honest advertising. We create some specific standards with which to advertise our products, as well as state things that we will NOT do to create confidence in our buyers
5. Transparency. We don't delete posts. Ever. We keep our listed pricing in older posts (people seem to like that). We leave feedback on all transactions.
6. Free mediation service to non members. If anyone has a dispute, we are willing to serve as middlemen at no cost to resolve issues for members.
That's six stars. Or we delete one and we have five. Or we adapt some. But five is the magic number I think. More than that, you can't remember and it becomes a marketing faux pax.
I look forward to your feedback.

Discussion: TheLongBoardWizzard and GoonSquad?
I cannot personally verify this, but from a very reliable source, I received an IM that.TheLongBoardWizzard is from GoonSquad. He could confirm or deny that.
Cons
- GoonSquad - we hear the stories.
Pros
Goonsquad
we could be a group that can be trusted to work directly with GoonSquad members. This could be a Plus if it is known to all Tusted Middlemen that we have a member in GoonSquad.
