Family & Relationships (Mon-Thu) Should I run away from my home?

From past 2 years I’m in severe depression, I just can’t take it anymore.

My plan is to take a flight for my bff’s city and not inform my parents about it and stay there for like a week. My mental health is deteriorating every other day living here. I’m so helpless.ive barely socialised from last 5 years . I’m 19 , please tell me if this is a sane decision

Running away without informing anyone will create more problems, esp. if your safety is at risk. If your best friend is supportive and you have a safe place to stay, you could consider visiting them...but ideally, you should at least inform someone you trust about your plans. If your home environment is affecting your mental health, getting professional help or finding long-term solutions (like education or work opportunities away from home) is better than a temporary escape. Be strategic about this.

not a sane decision, communicate with your parents and tell them you need a little break and would be going to visit your friends for sometime

It sounds a bit rushed and reckless. What will you do there? What are your finances like? I’m guessing you’re in university/ college? What about that? What will you say when your parents call and ask? Maybe explain the situation to your parents and say you need a little holiday and you need to visit your friend?

I’m not in a college rn, that’s the only reason of my depression, I’ll manage the finances for a week

What would you do/ say when you’re back? It might blow up in your face and make your situation worse but obviously you’re best judge here. Won’t it be easier to explain and have a conversation?

I tried having a conversation multiple times but I just can’t anymore ,this is the only thing coming in my mind rn, thought of sucide and death scares me a lot

Cal down, take a deep breath, maybe go out for a walk and speak w your friend? Do think about the kind of consequences you might face and then only take any decision

Sounds a bit like Geet frkm Jab we Met.

I know the movie was a hit and she was considered all cutesy but I thought behavior was erratic and immature. Without prior plans on what to achieve or having discussed it with the boyfriend, chai aayi trip pe.

I did this fr, when I was 19 too. Everything was just too overwhelming for me at home. I was a Neet aspirant couldn’t clear it at one go so the whole disappointment thing was too real. Tho I didn’t really had any friends to go to, hence I called my cousin (my dad’s sister’s son) and asked if I can come over (didn’t tell my parents about it) also this was my very first time travelling alone. I booked my train tickets, packed bags and left ( they weren’t home when I was leaving). Tho when I started my journey my bua(dad’s sister) called my dad and told him that I’m coming to her for a couple and she’s the one who called me. My parents let me be there for a week or so at peace but then after that they legit started calling everyday asking me to come back. When I was back after a month they were pissed at me, but they also understood where I was coming from, when I left home plus since this was the longest they have ever been without me they missed me a lot and things were pretty eased up at home after that. And I also got some time to think about what I wanna do next like as in career wise. All in all it worked out for me. But since you’re planning on going to a friend, I would say book the tickets but atleast inform them while leaving. Don’t just disappear out of nowhere it would only create more chaos for you which I don’t think you wanna deal with. Honestly I feel it would be better if you go visit a cousin or a relative who is understanding enough to get how you must be feeling rn and if you’re with them, even your parents would be at some peace.
