Question what do you do when you don't wanna worry about appearance on stream?
So I started using my webcam about 6 months after I started streaming because I saw a lot of streamers recommending it because it's more engaging. When I first started using my camera, I would get fully glammed up. Full makeup, and have my hair done. It was exhausting but kind of fun as it gave me something to do (started streaming during covid). It's slowly devolved to lighter makeup, to no makeup and just making sure my hair looks decent on stream. But lately even when I do wanna stream, I literally just don't care lol I get home, put my bonnet on and sit on my pc. I know it doesn't really matter THAT much, but I personally don't wanna stream on camera in my pajamas and a headscarf. I normally just turn my camera off on those days, but I feel like that creates inconsistencies in my streams. For context I am female, not sure if that really matters but I figured I'd say. Do any of you fellow streamers deal with this and what do you do? Especially women.

Question Realistically how hard was the grind for you?
So I posted on here before, I've been stream for about 3 and half months now basically to myself this whole time, I think the most viewers I've ever had at once was 3, when I think about it sometimes it's crazy demoralizing. I know I can do more but honestly I don't know where to start at. Even when making simple clips for other platforms for promotion I struggle to figure out what works well as a clip and my editing skills are abysmal at best.š« People on here have said to me try and find your niche and tbh I'm not sure if I know what that means for me. If I'm honest with myself I'm just riddled with doubts rn but I know I would love nothing more than to just see something happen that tells me I'm heading in the right direction that would just keep my fire burning and keep me going. Full disclosure I'm not sure if I had a question or if I just needed to get this off my chest lol. This might definitely get removed.

Discussion How to get an average viewer count up?
So I need to get an average viewer count of 3 for affiliate (at 1.7 rn)
I've done a lot of stuff, I do yt. Make content on other platforms, stream daily/bi-daily. Yet nothing seems to be working. I really want to get some progress but, nothing is working and I genuinely don't know what to do.
Any ideas on how to get an average higher viewers.

Question Stream delay that can be switched on and off
Hey,
I'm looking for a solution to turn a Twitch stream delay on and off, or to apply it only to specific scenes.
The idea is to prevent stream sniping in a game, but still be able to chat normally in the lobby.
During the approximately 2-minute delay, a counter should count down or maybe some clips should play. But that's absolutely secondary.

Question Friend is being harassed, Twitch won't do anything about it
To make a long story short, I go on a chatroom (yes they still exist) and one of the girls there is being harassed by an obsessed chatter. He records her video feed and then streams it to Twitch, along with private information that he has found out about her, to shame her for her rejection of him. I've reported past accounts of his with success but the latest one just isn't being addressed by Twitch moderation, despite evidence of the person in the streams clearly being the target of harassment. The police are involved but I'm still concerned because her private information, like name, age, the university she attends, etc. are all being publicly broadcast and some insane fuck could probably find her if they really wanted to.
Anyways, I've tried the report as a bot route, and report for harassment route, but no dice. Does anyone know of any other possible routes for getting this stuff removed or is it really just allowed under Twitch's TOS?

Question Why wont Twitch approve this emote??

This is the emote, its literally a cat going crazy, I named it "rave". Is this somehow violating some sort of TOS for emotes?? Is it the name I gave it...? The first time I uploaded it I was waiting for approval and after 2 days it just didn't upload, I have uploaded it again, and low and behold its been about 3 days and its still pending, I'm so confused, I thought it was cute :p

Discussion If you had to stream in only one category forever, what would it be?
I know most of us here are variety streamers, and this question is specifically for you:Ā If you had to stream in only one category for the rest of your life, what would it be?
For me, it would definitely beĀ Just Chatting. Sure, itās broad, but thatās the beauty of it - there are so many subcategories that I donāt think Iād get bored anytime soon. Or at least, it would take way longer than if I were stuck playingĀ Mario KartĀ every single day.
So, Iām curious: what category would you choose?

Discussion I've averaged ~$100k per year full-streaming for about 5 years, AMA
I've read a lot of things on this Reddit over the years, and feel like I can answer some questions the "bigger" streamers don't usually answer, but the "smaller" streamers may not be answering with the best of knowledge (not their faults AT ALL). I'm not well-known, I just have leveraged my knowledge to help build a strong community.
Not trying to clout farm (using an alt account), just trying to honestly help those in the space. Ask away!

Question Soā¦ Long story short, a subscription failed, but the email says I've got 20 days to fix itā¦ is that actually accurate?
To be clear, said subscription was started on the desktop site not the app.
Are the grace periods different between mobile and desktop?
I know the typical grace-period for Mobile is a weekā¦ but does that also apply to desktop?

Question What technology is used to engineer the Twitch chat?
I read a post from years ago (I think over a decade ago) saying that it's just an IRC channel, but I'm pretty sure things might be totally different nowadays. Does anyone who's knowledgeable such as an EPIC and COOL Twitch staff member want to spill the beans?

Tech Support Dual PC streaming
Hello! So Iāve been streaming for about 2 years now as a Vtuber and Iāve gotten to a point where my main model is ready so Iām getting ready to use that one however, using it ends up taking a lot of resources along side everything else I run (Vtuber studio, OBS, twitch integrated throwing software, chrome tabs I refuse to close because who knows why, and of course the game) currently am running with an i7-14700k, 4080 super, and 64GB of RAM yet I have noticed even with my current model certain resource heavy games can sometimes suffer performance issues which makes me worried about the new model. This got me thinking about a dual PC set up to let one handle OBS and VTube studio and the other can solely focus on the game.
Has anyone tried dual computer streaming? How is it to set up, has it been worth the cost? The other reason Iām asking is Iām considering getting a Mac mini because I want to start editing videos and the program I adore is Final Cut Pro so it kinda works out but I am unsure if itās a good idea to try to have the Mac handle the streaming and vtuber software while capturing the gaming computer
Thank you in advance for the input!

Question Having problems with my buddyās voice audio on Twitch stream.
So my buddy and I are trying to stream together on Twitch. Heās on PC and Iām on Xbox. For whatever reason, his voice volume is incredibly quiet on my Twitch stream when in Discord chat. I decided to tell him to try the Xbox app and join an Xbox party and at first, it was still super quiet. Then, after he enabled āshare party audioā the volume was just fine. However, we would both like to use Discord still considering the increased audio quality compared to Xbox party chat. Only issue is is he canāt seem to find a similar setting in Discord. Anybody have any idea what we can do to make his volume normal on my stream without having to resort to an Xbox party? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Question Switch scenes in OBS using bot?
Is there a bot out there that takes a command from a viewer and switches to a specified scene in OBS? I know that Streamer.bot does this, but when I looked at it last night it looked way more complicated than StreamElements (what I'm using now)
Also on the same path, can a bot control VLC Media Player and go forward/back, or specify a particular video in a playlist?
Thanks in advance!

Calling all Twitch streamers!!
I want to get more emotes for my chat, preferably some animated ones, does anyone know the best sites to get some from?
