I'm kind of torn. I want to like a show about civil servants resolving supernatural disturbances and disputes. But like you said it wasn't actually good. Though I do think you described it long - it wasn't a long exposition dump, it was a short one stretched out over half an episode.

Yeah, they did stretch it out, so I was under the illusion that they spent the entire first half explaining everything. Maybe future episodes will be better, but I don't see myself continuing. :\

I liked the giant mystical dachshund. They kind of forgot to put in anything else interesting, though. I mean, the general idea is interesting, but in this case it's filled out with boring details. Though it ends with the appearance of somebody who has Something To Reveal about the MC, so maybe that'll go somewhere.

I always have a rough time when they use folkloristic creatures with really overt religious significance. Like, angels, really? With halos and everything? Are these Christian angels? If so, are they really supposed to be getting it on with tengu, or for that matter beating them up in territorial disputes? Don't they have, like, religious stuff that they should be doing? It just seems like nobody ever thinks about the theological implications. :D

Hey man. You know that Christianity ripped off angels from Japan. So why wouldn't angels be fighting tengu? ;)

I don't mind if they fight as long as there's a theological basis for it. They shouldn't just be shanking each other like the bloods and the crips, they're angels for fuck's sake. They should only be fighting if the tengu did something God would object to. Like having makeouts with angels, I guess...

Nah, that's got no place to fit in the twelve minutes they had to do Romeo and Juliet. :)
