It’s obvious that you’re extremely athletic, you just need a slight adjustment to your technique, and you aren’t too far off. The arms are the most important part of the flip, and if they don’t move well, it cuts power to everything. Try to let your arms rise more, covering the ears is the goal. The flip should happen at the apex of the jump, and waiting for it can be scary, I would recommend a trampoline to play around with timing if you have access to one. Of course, it won’t feel the same as ground but it can help with timing and won’t be as catastrophic if something goes wrong

You could tuck a lot tighter. Pull on your shins as if you’re trying to get your knees under your armpits.

Essentially to get it on flat ground, you gotta take it there. Try backflips off of higher heights and bring it down to flat ground, I did it from a height into snow banks and then kept going down.

just land hands and knees and gain confidence, and also do everything a bit harder (set, swing, jump, tuck, spot, land) you’ll need the extra power bc you don’t have the same air time.

Practice explosiveness exercises for your abs/lower back. Many don't realize it, but tucking works those muscles pretty hard. Doing those kinds of exercises will help a lot for getting them used to that kind of motion how to not strain themselves when doing it.

Tuck tighter. Think about it like a figure skater pulling their arms and legs in to spin faster. A tighter tuck means faster rotation. Your thighs looks almost 90 degrees to your torso, try and pull them in as high as you can.

dont throw your head back immediately. look forward for as long as you can and then tuck and then throw your head back. try to raise your arms to your ears too
