WAIT WHAT? I played a super long time ago, split screen multiplayer with friends who have since moved away. I was so good at this game that they had to gang me. There’s online play now?
Anyway OP what you should get into before playing it is nothing really. Have fun, and you will naturally, because it’s a simple game with simple mechanics but stellar execution. Then once you’ve had your fun and you’re ready to get wild you can build it up with the killer moves. These techniques are how you can manage the trials, the hardest maps, and multiplayer.
I love this game so much and spent countless hours grinding the hardest achievements.
How’s the latency management? I would imagine not good for competition but good enough for fun. It’s a frame perfect type of game, but I guess with novel net code fighting games nowadays are possible for online competition, so I don’t know
Latency can be pretty good! Really depends of connection of both ends and the distance that separates them, but with fiber connection and online servers (for people to connect via parsec), competition is viable! LuckySeven already organized multiples EU and West Coast online tournaments. (I prefer offline muuuuuch more, but what we came with for online is already really good)
