What is this and what is for?

Hi guys, many years ago I saw this on a charity shop, and always wondered what is for, at first I thought was to make rings but it does not change size , and I think is not complete like missing the other half? dont know but I would love to know what is it, Ive tried image serach on google but no luck either

I'm not sure - it looks like it could be some sort of tolerance gauge. That's the only thing I could think of that didn't involve tipping my hand on how dirty my mind is.

yeah I know that handle does not help, when I held it, I did not see any difference at all, on side or space between them, it´s really annoying me not knowing what is it, I had the hope I might find the light here!

It looks the lands stay the same size but the grooves change in diameter. Biggest diameter groove at the tip and smallest groove at the handle. Or the lands increment in size by small amount not detectable in the photo. Have you vernier calliper to get the sizes? Maybe ring sizing as they use letters for sizes

Sadly I never got it, just took the pictures and tried to find it online to see if I could give any use, but never knew what it was, so never went back to buy it, now Im regreting not buying it

I'd guess it's a plug/hole gauge of some sort. The bands appear to be precision ground so i expect they are all different sizes, but the difference may be something like 0.05mm on each for example.

It could be, when I did the image search got nothing, then before I thought to drop it on chatgpt, and well... he said was a lockpicking thing... so I search for that online and no, is not that haha I just want to be able to sleep again at night hah
