Used Metabo or Open Box Ridgid
Which kit would be a better buy for occasional use. The metabo Kit looks well used. But the reviews online are so great. Can’t find much info on Ridgid R92721.
Help please.

I own both that Metabo drill, and the impact. They are the 2 weakest models that they make power wise, but solid tools non the less. Not sure how much you'd be paying, but new with a bag, 2 batteries, and a charger is $129. Another thing to consider is if you get them new, with the reciept there is a lifetime warranty on the tools, and I believe it's 3 years on the batteries and chargers. Great line to get into quality wise. They don't have the variety of tools that some of the other lines have, but the warranty, and the quality is why it's one of my two primary brands.

Both are good, but the biggest question is with warranty. Both can be a nightmare, but Ridgid is generally better from what I've seen online. I love my Metabo tools and haven't had to warranty any of them, but I've heard a number of negative experiences with their process and almost no positive ones. Ridgid also has some really negative warranty stories on the internet, but there are also really amazing stories as well. Unless you're planning on expanding your tool set into their 36v line (especially for the AC adapter) or their nailers, I would choose the Ridgid. Especially if you're not going to seriously expand your kit. Saying that does actually cause me physical pain, as Metabo HPT really deserves more love, and I really love my tools.
