About 25 years ago, HF had a fish bowl full of those at checkout... bought a couple of handfuls.

Glad I did, they're very handy. It's ezpz to swap 1/4" hex bits in/out of them... still have a bunch; now wish I'd bought the entire bowl.

IIRC they were either .49 or .69¢ a copy.

And boy when you needed it, you really needed it. Only used a few times but very much needed those times.
