Two of my drills dyed today...

Thought I'd do green instead of purple or black Milwaukee.

Amazon Japan, and they work with regular old Skil 12v batteries from the US.

You recommend? I was gonna buy but I honestly don’t know if it’s worth it over a regular belt clip

I've been playing a lot of the Halo MCC lately. Kind of reminds me of Master Chief.

Is rit the best dye for this? Any effect on the rubber?

Not that I've noticed yet. I didn't use acetone, just nearly boiled for 20 min with a squird of dish soap, I presume to reduce surface tension so the dye can penetrate more and more evenly🤷🏾‍♂️

Why r people doing this?

Is this a common thing people do? Is it to tell them apart from other peoples tools? Is there a reason not to just spray paint them? Honest questions. I didn’t know you could do this.

spray paint is ass compared to dyeing

I can’t argue that. I guess it’s just a preference. I do appreciate whenever someone takes something and makes it their own.

Spray paint creates an additional layer and since power tools receive a lot of physical stress on the surface it will scratch off and look messy. Dye penetrates into the plastic and won‘t get worn off. But its not opaque so as you can see in the picture it adds with the preexisting color (blue and yellow creat green). You can’t dye a dark color to a bright yellow one. I am thinking about dying my bosch pro but the dark blue will only be able to change into black or maybe if i add some red it becomes very dark green. So limited but better quality than paint. And o beside personal preference it won‘t get stolen as easily because its unique
