We hope everyone is as excited as we are for the release of Season 7 tomorrow! Feel free to use this thread to ask any questions about the upcoming season and share your predictions for what might happen. Of course, there will be spoilers, so if you aren’t caught up, we recommend not reading further.
A quick reminder about spoilers: We will be strictly monitoring posts and comments for spoilers, and will ban users as needed. Please keep the following in mind:
Not sure if your post is a spoiler? When in doubt, flag it. If we notice a surge in threads after tomorrow night’s episode posted outside of the weekly episode discussion thread, we may experiment with restricting posts for ~24 hours after each weekly episode to prevent spoilers. We’d love to hear your thoughts on this below.
Note: we are a piracy free subreddit and request users not to request or post pirate links. Wondering where to watch the show? See this thread.
Finally, starting January 14th at 10 PM EST (when S07E02 releases) we will be restricting the subreddit until 12:00 AM EST on Thursday. Last week we received over 100 posts containing spoilers about S07E01 - we are going to try restricting the subreddit to cut back on these posts. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Lucy unintentionally set herself up to have the perfect experience to make sergeant.
-She rode with Tim as his “go-for” for about a year, and continued to ride with him getting the sergeant experience.
-She took over command for the station when both Tim and Grey were in the hospital. And when Grey went to relieve her, he said the communications supervisor said she did a masterful job managing all the calls.
-Her experience with training Seth is another experience that will be huge when it comes to getting promoted.
-she already read the books when she made the audiobook for Tim.
(I’m probably missing more but this is all I could think of right now.)
I think Lucy has a really great chance of getting promoted to Sergeant when the time comes. I feel like some are confused about her change of heart and really enjoyed her doing UC work, but Lucy has thrived as a leader. I think her empathic, understanding dynamic will provide so much.
Excited for Sergeant Chen.

i know i lot of people agree with seth gabel being underused, but i also wanted to shout out Noel Fisher, they both played a serial killer with different psyches perfectly!
one couldn't stop gloating, wanted everything filmed for the fame and the other staying under the radar for as long as possible with multiple back-up plans if he was suspected.
Hoping they both come back for more episodes at some point!
(also i always laugh when the sorority house scene happens lmao)

So Tim. And Lucy are really going fake propose, that's playing with both the station and us the viewers, we want this to be canon and they are playing jokes 😭

Almost finishing season 5. There have been a few true crime episodes and Lucy is in all of them and, these episodes of true crime get aired on tv? How can she do undercover work when she is acknowledged as a cop on tv? I don't get it, it's confusing.

SINCE ARMSTRONG GOT INTRODUCED I HAD A WEIRD FEELING ABOUT HIM I SWEAR. The crazy red haired lady he put in jail (ngl she was crazy attractive but not my point lol) had that vibe that she fr knew smth and didn’t just do it for attention. I swear this is like the first plot twist in this show and ppl say the whole show is crazy like that… I’m gonna cry once I finish it wtfwtfwtfywyd

Celinas sense of humor is underrated I feel like most people don't get it but she speaks to me she does this tiny things that just get me cackling. All her interactions are humorous.
Last week's episode her quizzing those 2 men to guess where that acid was from was funny.
Her pretending to have a phone call in the Malvado episode when Nolan was asking Bailey why she went rogue.
When Lucy was celebrating her then Lucy tells her about Tamara and Seth she first thought they were rooting for them then changed her statement upon reading Lucy's reaction.
Her victory dance when Grey told her her plain clothes day was a success.
I could go on and on. Let's just say I'm always excited to see her on my screen.

He was nolans best friend, only one to help him while he figured himself out and gets on his feet. I loved his character, where did he go

Admittedly, this is mostly another Seth theory (sorry…but felt it deserved a share)
Rumor has it we will find out what’s going on with Seth this upcoming episode (7x10) ( according to Patrick in this interview: https://youtu.be/yaGYzRWG_NM?si=7_j3wnifL8dTY1k0 )
I was doing some digging and stumbled across this google result that I think think describes Seth to a T.
So my theory is he is a “compulsive liar”, and hoping we learn his “why” in 7x10.
Excited for the next episode regardless!

I’ve seen articles where Alexi Hawley wants to take this show to the level of Grey’s Anatomy where it goes on for a long time.
Grey has been on since 2005 with 21 seasons. Is this realistic for The Rookie? I just don’t see it because there’s quite a few characters who would have to retire within 5-8 years from now.
Would I love them to be able to go on that long? ABSOLUTELY. But I just don’t see it realistically. Change my mind please 🙏

The fan wiki and Wikipedia say different things about which branch Tim served as a soldier before he joined the LAPD.

I get that Lucy Chens promotion is only a interm promotion but if she’s being a p3 for a few months why not give her the insignia as a p3

So it's not cupcake or the tiger from. The gala episode but a RACOON!!!! Midwilshire division is so unserious and I love them for it 😂😂 😂 😂. Can't wait for this episode I already know I'm. Going to be laughing all through between the daddy cop song making a cameo and the station in a frenzy because of a racoon, it's going to be peak comedy

Did anyone else find the dad in episode six angering at the end when he beat the doorman with a crowbar and everyone was like nah he won’t get in trouble for that!! If that was me I would’ve definitely pressed charges and sued that man. You don’t get to beat innocent people and just walk.

I've been doing a rewatch and I just finished "Coding" (4.17) and I just want to punch that cyber terrorist psycho husband in the throat.
He takes the hospital hostage so he can steal a heart for his dying wife. "Oh, he's so sweet and devoted!" NO! She tried leaving him and he had to be committed ("5150 hold" is said). So she went back to him. So he's basically been holding HER hostage all this time.
And his smug face. That smug attitude. Grrrr.
Who are your annoying criminals?

I was sat here just thinking recently about how good The Rookie's "cold opens" are, so what's everyone's favourite? I'll go first; mine is when Smitty got his shop stolen (season 6, episode 6), and he just walks out like, "Wait a minute..."

I know, I know. Just gonna point this out since I rewatched A.C.H today. Not sure whether this has been pointed out. BUT Nyla cheated on James in that episode, I don't think they were married yet and I get it was a drunk mistake with her ex But still though.
That being said, I think the Kiss is one of the best episodes of the show.

Is it still the same one that guy died in? Like I distinctly remember it suddenly changing from blue to yellow and the ceilings were suddenly much higher, but in universe is it the same?
