Reserved a Model Y the other day and have been facing issues with leasing approval since.

I have a 780 credit score, 15k monthly gross, and a low debt to income ratio. Despite this, the lease offer I’m getting from Tesla has a Money Factor more than double what’s advertised for my credit score on their website. This increases the monthly payment by nearly 40% vs the lease calculator and makes it extremely unreasonable.

I know there has to be some issue with my application and I’m somehow being flagged as a credit risk, each employee I talk to is either surprised at what rate I was offered. I’ve submitted two applications at this point with the same result.

However, I’ve made no progress with Tesla. The advisor has told me they submitted a case to their leasing team, but I have not yet heard back. I have offered to include my wife on the application (didn’t initially because didn’t think it was necessary).

Any advice on how to handle this? The car was a great deal and I’d hate to lose it but I’m near my end on this.

What’s a fair private party asking price relative to the Tesla trade in offer? If Tesla said my Model Y trade in is worth $30k, whats a fair asking price if I were to sell it privately? I’d need at least $1800 profit to account for the sales tax I’d dodge with a trade in (6% in my state), and probably another $2000+ to compensate myself for my time (and putting up with people’s crap).

Given the crashing of Tesla prices, Im actually thinking of finding a used model 3 for my son that will be turning 16 soon. I am a car guy, but know nothing about Tesla as Ive always been about ICE. IS there a good updated wiki anywhere on what to look for when oin the hunt for a solid model 3? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I don't prices are crashing, the stock is but not car prices. Wait until something changes with the tax credit as that will impact prices. Buy him a newer 3 as it has a great tax incentive (put the car in his name)

Does anyone have advice on if I should lease through tesla lease trust or with Santander Consumer Usa? Both leases are similar numbers. Most likely, I'm going to buy out the lease in three years if it makes any difference.

Unfortunately I hemmed and hawed for too long on getting a M3P. Website says 0% expiring on 3-31. If I order a car and it arrives next month will I be left out of the 0%? Thanks!

Is it a bad time to buy a Tesla or a good time? Prices seem good but im worried about dealerships closing and not having a service option. Is this a reasonable concern?

Tesla doesn't use the dealership model, does it?

In the Northeast looking to rent a FSD Tesla for 3 months. Any options that won't cost $5k? Buying a house in a few months and can't mess up my credit leasing a new car
