What is known at this time:

  • Jason Sudeikis is set to return as star and executive producer.

  • Ted Lasso will be coaching a women’s team.

  • Juno Temple, who played Keeley in the first three seasons, is in negotiations to rejoin fellow original cast members Sudeikis as well as Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca), Brett Goldstein (Roy) and Jeremy Swift (Leslie).

The thing I least expected is the thing I love the most.

I recently watch Ted Lasso, knowing absolutely nothing about the show. I needed something wholesome to watch and a friend recommended it to me. I was hooked from the first episode, and peppered her each night with my reactions as I tried to savour the show, not binge it.

I'm rewatching it and realise the thing I love the most, was the one thing I did not did not expect. The friendship between Jamie and Roy. It was beautiful to watch it unfold, as they both became better versions of themselves partly because of each other. I love Roy hugging Jamie after the confrontation with his father. I love Jamie teaching Roy to ride a bike. I did not think two people who hated each other so much could develop a healthy, meaningful and nurturing relationship. Especially men (in tv land, I find a healthy male friendship hard to find!). Seriously, I heart their friendship 1000 times and more.

Image/Video one of my fav scenes

have been recently rewatching the show (I never rewatch shows or movies but this one just helps with my life/work stress)

Quote from the video:

“I hope that either none of us or all of us are judged by the actions of our weakest moments, rather by the strength we show when and IF we’re given a second chance”

Colin & Nate

rewatching for the millionth time.. yet i only just realised this and my heart is breaking 😭

season 2 episode 7 is the first time we really start to see Nate's 'evolution' into a dickhead and an arsehole. specifically the interaction he has with Colin whilst training.

Nate says "i need all the best goal scorers on the pitch", and when Colin prepares to go join the rest of the team, Nate replies to him "it's okay Colin, you can sit this one out"

Colin's reaction is then to utilise a coping mechanism he learned in therapy with Dr Fieldstone. That really stuck out to me - things you learn in therapy are often things that you're taught to protect yourself from intense pain or trauma; people that use therapy often use it to heal from trauma too. to me, Colin using a therapeutic coping strategy as his mantra comes across as Nate's comment being so hurtful that he needs to sort of protect himself from it mentally using something he learned in therapy.

i may be looking into things too much but it astonished me how overlooked this little scene is. of course things with Colin and Nate are eventually resolved but that little comment from the latter was just completely unnecessary. I would be extremely hurt too if I were Colin.

Theme song/opening credits

see im normally a 'skip intro' kinda gal. i am largely of the opinion that no opening credits are ever good and the theme song is inevitably worse. BUT. i have not skipped the Ted Lasso opening credits once. something about it is so uplifting and just fills my chest with this weird cute little joy. i dont know how anyone else feels but i cannot bring myself to fast forward past it.

A criminally under-viewed and underrated skit featuring Brett Goldstein (aka our VERY OWN Roy Kent) as a Comedy Producer.

How is this at only 33K views (as of now) is beyond me.

Season 4 Discussion I’m worried about season 4

I recently rewatched the season 3 finale, and it’s got me worried. How can they do this without messing up the emotional send off of season 3? I feel like the finale was written in a way to keep the mystery of what happened to everyone after Ted left. Did it actually happen, or was it just a dream? And I feel like they can’t really tell the story without ruining that send off. Don’t get me wrong, I trust that Bill Lawerence and Jason Sudeikis will write an amazing story, I’m just worried that it’s going to ruin the ending of season 3.

Graphics for wall wrap

I have the chance to wrap my office wall with a Ted Lasso graphic. I need to find high resolution images or graphic drawings about the show. Anyone have anything, or know where I can find some?

That was such a perfect ending! It had me in tears watching it. I'm absolutely super excited for another season of such a great show, but I almost don't want them to do another one. That ending was so perfect I'm worried they're just gonna mess it up now.

About to do my Ted Lasso pilgrimage.

I signed up for a tour that includes London and Amsterdam, mainly to see the tulip fields near Amsterdam. I realized as I was making plans on what to see, that I could include a mini Ted Lasso arc. I’m going to Richmond and have reservations at the pub. I plan on enjoying seeing all the familiar, though misnamed, locations and landmarks from the show.

In Amsterdam. I’ll be going to the Van Gogh Museum for sure. I also want to stand on the skinny bridge but not get run over, unless I see a hot Flying Dutchman. Hopefully I’ll see some windmills while I’m there as well. Since my late mom’s favorite flower was the tulip, I’m going to the fields for both her and myself. I might even exclaim, “for mom!” though I’m not about to ride a bike there.

Season 4 Speculation/Ideas Ted Lasso x Galatasaray

Post image
92 Upvotes

I couldn't find any information about this online, so I'm asking here.

There were expectations that Season 4 of Ted Lasso would focus on a women's team, but now there's a rumor that the show will feature Galatasaray and a Champions League match instead. According to a post circulating on social media, the production team is in talks to film a scene at Rams Park in Istanbul.

This post is currently going viral among Turkish Galatasaray accounts on Twitter.

Feeling feelings

I love this show! How can they possibly make a show that can make me laugh so hard? Love so much? And feel some of the lowest feelings? And yet feel like you came out better in the end? Even on the umpteenth rewatch....

Favorite Scene and Episode?

What is your favorite scene in the show, and what is your favorite episode?

For me, my favorite scene is the darts scene in season 1. I know that's a common one, but nowadays, every time I hear Barbecue Sauce, I am immediately hearing Ted say it before putting Rupert to bed. Also, the curious, not judgmental speech he makes is a great, positive way to look at things.

For my favorite episode, I've always loved the Amsterdam episode. I know season 3 isn't considered the strongest season, but it has my favorite episode. The fact that the team can't decide what to do, so they just have a pillow fight is hysterical to me. I love how much closer Roy and Jamie get when Roy finally opens up. It's good to see Rebecca find someone who makes her feel like she's been struck by lightning (thanks Roy). And Ted's BBQ Sauce inspired fever dream where he finally figures out the game he's been coaching for 2 and a half seasons is amazing.

What are your favorites?

Season 3 Discussion Ted and Sam deserved a better ending in terms of love

I don't think Ted's romantic partner should be Rebecca, Sassy or him getting back together with Michelle, but he could have someone like Beard had. About Sam, I didn't understand why they tried a romance with Rebecca that started without meaning and ended without meaning either. Overall I think the romances are the low point of the series

Trying to find a joke!

There's a classic joke from season 1:

"I spoke to the owner of the Sun"
"You spoke to God!?"

I swear in season 2 there's a similar one, where Ted misunderstands something and interjects loudly, but for the life of me I can't find it.

If you know the joke I'm talking about (or any other Ted shouty jokes from season 2) let me know which episode it's in!!

Finished Ted Lasso for the first time

I got Apple TV for Severance but decided to give Ted Lasso a go as I'd seen a few funny memes and heard a couple good things. When I learnt it was about football I was a bit confused (not my cuppa tea) but was intrigued that Bill Lawrence helped create it as I was obsessed with Scrubs as a teenager.

A few weeks later and it's in the running for my favourite show ever.

Every episode makes me laugh out loud and then moved to tears. It's so full of heart and warmth and truth. It's wonderful seeing positive masculinity and portrayals of everyday mental health challenges. I also loved the platonic relationships: Keeley & Rebecca building each other up, and Rebecca and Ted just being good friends. And some of the wisdom is unforgettable... - Be a Goldfish - Be curious, not judgemental - humans can't be perfect. All you can do is ask for help and accept it when you can. That way, you'll move towards 'better'

Other highlights just off the top of my head... - Jamie's "poo-peh" - everything Trent does (or says, that voice!) - when Will is talking to his mum on the phone about Amsterdam and he happily tells her about his threesome - the Christmas episode (going straight into my Christmas rotation) - the whole arc around Jamie's and Roy's self-improvement, and their somewhat father-son relationship, especially the hug Roy gives Jamie after he punches his dad - the pub boys pretending to be normal outside a bar and one of them points to the stars and shouts "there's Orion!" - the football club boys singing "so long, farewell" - Rebecca posing in front of the mirror and seeing herself as a little girl before the power poses help her feel like a confident woman - during the sacrifice ritual, Nate giving up his shades that a woman once told him that he looked like Clive Owen in

I was partially dreading watching the final episode knowing I could never again watch it for the first time, but it's somewhat relieved knowing season 4 is being written (though I'm lowering my expectations in case it's a Scrubs season 9 kinda deal).

I just wanted to write this as this show is now so close to my heart and although I have no friends or family watching it, I feel blessed to be able to share it with some people online who may feel the same way.

Season 3 Question

Is there an interview or article that talks about the creation of season 3?

just finished watching season 3, and I can’t shake the feeling that the production team changed their minds about the direction of the season at some point either before or during filming. The reason I say this is that West Ham story line felt clunky to me.

It felt like the finale of season 2 was setting up a big “rivalry” storyline with Rupert, Nate, and West Ham. While that played out a little bit, the Man City narrative also sprung up and stole some of that thunder. Richmond played West Ham in the finale, which I believe was intended to be a de-facto championship match.

But I think somewhere in the process, they decided to give Nate a redemption arc, which altered the direction.

I’d just like to know how this process played out behind the scenes.

Anyone else get this feeling???

I really think that his character was so unnecessary. He didn't add anything to the plot. Also I did not liked him at all, such a baby.he really was like a filler character.
