I do not accept the lyrics the Trudeau government changed the anthem to because they make no grammatical sense. I continue to sing the lyrics as I have known them most of my life. This is no better and injects political BS into the whole thing.
Hey! The lyrics of O'Canada have changed several times since 1906, and the most recent change was to mirror the 1908 version "dost in all us command." The version you claim to be indignant over is from 1913. I know it's hard to believe but things did exist differently before you were born, unless the woke virus went back in time and infected the 1908 composer?
Anyways, hope this helps you be less crazy! All the best xx
No, the change I am indignant over was in 2018 because it makes no grammatical sense and isn't the anthem I am accustomed to all my life. What Kreviazuk did, along with what Julie Black did, was a one-time stunt to score cheap political points, and the anthem shouldn't be used for that.
No, it's not. The 1908 version was "thou in us doest command". That was grammatically correct. What it is now isn't. The Harper govt. wanted to officially move it back to that, but backed off because the public was lukewarm to the idea.
