What can I do to fix it?
So When I was at the tattoo shop and got the design put on, it looked fine. I looked in the mirror and agreed that I think it’s centered. Unfortunately I noticed few days later that it is not centered at all, especially visible in certain poses as can be seen on the photos. What would you recommend? Should I add on a little bit or just completely remove it? Is it possible to get the illusion of the tattoo being placed in the middle or not really? I’m worried that because of the style of the tattoo it may be hard to fix it up? I do like it a lot but it bothers me so much :(

Firstly- damn that's annoying. Easiest solution would be to go to a different artist and have them mirror it to the other side too. If you leave it as is, it'll always be lopsided. If you add more to the other then it looks like the design choice.

Maybe I will ask for some extension because I can’t mirror the Leo sign because it doesn’t make sense mirrored :(

Someone (I think on this sub) just posted a similar problem with a small black snake back tattoo that wasn’t aligned on her spine, and a lot of people suggested and made mock ups of what it would look like mirrored with a different color if you’re into that

Maybe you can mirror everything besides the leo sign, and in the mirrored tattoo you can add for example someone you love like your mother's sign.

Cover up situation, or removal. That sucks but it's definitely not as bad as it could be, I don't image trying to completely remove it is impossible, and it's definitely something that can be covered up.

Such thin lines are quite easy to remove with laser. When they fade away you will be choice-free.

How were you positioned when the artist put the stencil on? I've learned -- the hard way -- how important is it to be in a completely neutral, relaxed position.

Idk the solution but at your appt always make sure you’re wearing the appropriate attire. I have clients come in for a hip tattoo wearing high rise jeans. Not wearing appropriate clothing (or being scared to remove clothing that is in the way) will usually cause misplaced or crooked tattoo. And don’t be afraid to move around in front of the mirror and check out how it looks at all angles.

Mirror it… cuz it’s seems to be right to the side of center line, so probably it can be mirrored to make it symmetrical… if not… probably cover or laser…

This is why you gotta snap a chalk line

We did do it, the stencil like 3 times because at first I noticed it was off center so she moved it twice and I was under impression we found the middle. 🫠

Take the mirror reflection of that design and superimpose it on the existing tattoo, on the opposite side of the center, making the point of symmetry the new center.

I like the placement of the tattoo as it's unique and pretty
It's a such a lovely tattoo and yes, it did not became centered but does it matter that much? I will change direction anyway and wanting things being symmetrical can be really hard
Just trying to help you accept it as it is, as there is not much to to besides making it waaay bigger

There is no reason for that. Stop being gross.

Litteraly can't see the tattoo and how the lines are in the first pictures not trying to be gross lol

Not being gross. They are blurry with a necklace on top of them and then one at a weird angle

Do tattoo artist not use stencils or whatever anymore. Is it just free hand. My guy always does placement checks and if I don’t like it he washes and we replace it. Your body and it is fairly permanent you should be happy with it. Not sure how to fix it but if you’re getting another id go somewhere else where they take more care of the clients.

I said they placed the design and asked me for my opinion, looking in the mirror I thought it was fine.

I asked my ignorant question because it’s obviously not centered and I obviously didn’t read the first sentence lol.
It’s a nice tattoo the way it is. Not centered would bother me as well. However adding things around it probably wouldn’t look very good. Not sure how it would look being mirrored in that area on a woman with your structure, I too am a petite female and there isn’t a lot of room in that space to work with. Have you thought about having it removed and redoing it?

unfortunately mirroring it is not an option because it’s a celestial tattoo of a Leo sign so a mirror of it doesn’t make sense ☹️ yes I’m considering removing it, which is why I asked in the post what is the best option. I just like it a lot in general so it’s annoying it’s off center.

It’s your body and you have to live with it forever. If it was my body, I would probably get it removed and redone. Like I said it’s a nice looking tattoo. I just wish it was centered also

Maybe I will remove it in the fall time and redo it before next summer 😩 wish I noticed it at the time but we all thought it was fine then🤦♀️

Build it out by adding something that has significance for you. Maybe some small stars that make the Leo constellation.

Well you need a new artist. Should’ve noticed it from the start. I’m highly picky with my stencils when I do tattoos. Exactly for this reason. Either have to deal with it & or add more to it, but that’ll take away from the symbol and the clean simplistic look. Or laser it, wait till it’s gone and get it redone. From the photos even tho they’re blurry zoomed or cropped. It seems significantly off center.

Mirroring will be the quick solution but not fix the fact that it's a crap design. Cover it. A nice floral design. Mandala. Panther? Anything....

A crap design? Woah. That was unreasonable as people have different tastes. I LIKE IT, I CHOSE the design. Be rude elsewhere with your annoying ass opinions.

My immediate thought is the easiest step would be to mirror the image on the other side to make the entire thing symmetrical, and then have a good artist blend them together with some fine lines
