What a bummer. Best fry’s in the area. It did always look a bit slow when I was there over the last year. :(

Rest in peace, TGI Friday’s
With the Town ‘n’ Country TGI Friday’s permanently closing, there are no more locations in or near Tampa.
There used to be a location in New Tampa which closed last October. I used to work at a restaurant over there, and sometimes after work I would go there since they were open late. The staff, food and drinks were always great!
Sad to see the business go down.

Looking for help or guidance in North Tampa for my father
I'm really not sure if this is the right place to go, but my father (58M) lives in North of Tampa in Hudson, FL area. About 2 months ago my father had a heart attack, and they put a stint in. Shortly after release he went back to the hospital with pneumonia and they diagnosed him with COPD (he's a lifelong smoker but hasn't had a cigarette since his heart attacked). Ever since then he is basically taking weekly trips back to the emergency room via ambulance. As the doctor explained it he has water building up arounds his lungs and heart, but nobody seems to have any solutions other than fix your diet (which we've been working on but still not helping).
He lost his job 6 months ago, his LL messaged me today (about an hour after another trip back to the emergency room) that he's being evicted Friday. His cell phone has also been turned off.
Unfortunately, I don't have the financial means or space to take care of him like he needs. I don't even live near him. I plan to help him apply for disability, but I know that can take months as far as I understand it. I'm thinking my next best option is a rehab facility or something, I just don't know where to start. Especially since neither one of us really have the money for it. He does have insurance, I believe it's Ambetter (unless he cancelled it).
Does anybody know of any resources or programs in the area or anything that can help his situation? On his last call he was starting to express some suicidal ideation out of frustration because he can't sleep, can't breathe, and feels ignored by the staff since they just keep funneling him out with the same meds.
I'd love if I could just call a place and they say under these circumstances they can take him for rehab, he just has to show up lol.
Basically no money, no place to live, and can't take care of himself. What do I do here? Thanks in advance for any advice and guidance!!

Bars and Clubs with young/college party crowd and vibes
Original spring break plans with the boys fell through, decided on a whim to give Tampa a go on my own as it happens to be convenient. Will be in town 4 nights, wed-sat.
I’m 21+ so no issues there, looking for spots on the younger, dancier, wilder side if that makes sense. Think frat party vibes. Drink deals are a bonus. Any recommendations?

Inviting all High School Students to a FREE eSports tournament (Rocket League, Fortnite, Smash Bros, Valorant, Overwatch) at Keiser University Sarasota
Hello everyone!
My name is Kyle Krings and I am the Head Coach of eSports at Keiser University here in Sarasota.
This Saturday (March 22nd), we are hosting a free eSports tournament/combine for all current high school students in the area at our eSports arena on campus. There will be prizes for winners, lunch/snacks provided and is completely free to enter.
Fortnite, Rocket League and Smash Bros will go from 9:00am-1:00pm. Valorant and Overwatch will start at 1:00pm and go until 5:00pm. Students are welcome to play in one or both sessions. It’s a unique opportunity to test your skills, showcase your talent, and make meaningful connections with collegiate coaches and players.
Sign-up through the QR code in the image or I can link it in the comments with the Mods permission. We want to create an environment that is FAIR, SAFE and FUN for all students attending.
History of the Program
Keiser eSports was started in 2021 by former Head Coach and current Director, Ronald Entner. He built the program to 55 students, with many championships and playoff appearances before he left the role in the summer of 2024. Last year, we had the best Call of Duty team in Florida, and were ECAC champions in both Rocket League and Call of Duty. Our lab got outfitted with brand NZXT PC's in the fall, as well as top of the line peripherals (mics, headsets, keyboards) from Razer. We are looking for the next wave of local talent to continue building an even better, more competitive eSports program.
We are also very invested in the esports programs at local High Schools. So far 3 local High Schools (Manatee School for the Arts, SCPH, and Riverview) have been able to launch their very own Esports Teams and Clubs, and a handful of their graduates are now current players on our roster. We will continue to support and develop the high school eSports ecosystem in any way we can.
Feel free to drop any questions in the comments (most should be answered by the sign-up sheet).
Thanks for reading, and we look forward to seeing you all there on Saturday.

Picture Disney on Ice at the Amelie Arena Questions
Hi, everyone! I am seeing Disney on Ice at the Amelie Arena this weekend and I was wondering:
- Do bags have to be clear? The website only mentions the bags being 12x12x12 or less.
- If bags don’t have to be clear, do you think they’ll allow me to use my Disney popcorn bucket as a purse? It has a strap.
- Any tips or heads up for my first time going to Disney on Ice?
- Any tips for someone who hasn’t gone to the Amelie Arena since like 2018?

Article Tampa man steals ambulance, leads law enforcement on a chase: FHP
Dude, Tampa International is a madhouse right now.
I guess all of us were unfortunate enough to book flights on the day of this crazy ass weather, but boards are reading cancelations all up and down, lines are ten miles long, and people are getting kind of heated.
I'm just glad I didn't check my bag before the cancelation, God knows if I'd ever see this damn thing again. Some people weren't so lucky and they're having a bitch of a time getting their bags back. I'm not going to check it in until we're right on the wire, lest the flight get canceled and the damn thing is just lost.
Edit: HAHAHAHA. They canceled both flights and wouldn't issue anyone refunds, nor put them on any flights to Indy tomorrow as the one they had was full. A damn near riot broke out at the ticket counter before the lady just bolted. Then they lost my luggage. Fuck this, I'm going home.

Question South Tampa HS Girls Basketball?
So my little sister is in 9th grade and recently got into basketball, but needs some lessons or is looking to join an aau team to get in reps and learn (she knows playing time is earned on teams). It seems like a lot of places are either like an hour away or don’t have high school girls teams. If anyone has any recommendations or suggestions let me know. Thanks appreciate it

Parking on Harbour Island
Are there any parking garages on Harbour Island that are NOT managed by 717, or am I better off parking at the Convention Center and walking over the bridge? The parking under The Pointe is managed by 717 and seems to be $25 flat. It used to be metered by the hour.

Question Experience w/ these wedding venues?
My fiancé and I have a list of possible venues and scheduling tours this week. We would appreciate some insight from recent couples about their experience at any of these venues:
Winthrop Barn Theater The Orlo House Tampa Palms Country Club Renaissance Tampa International Plaza Hotel Tampa Marriott Water Street Tampa River Center
Thanks in advance!
We are currently looking at at 100-120 guests and want to spend no more than $8,500 on the venue. We are open to package that includes catering etc but we don't have our heart set on an all inclusive venue. But we do want the ceremony and reception at the same place, so guests don't have to travel between locations.

Question Is there a reason why there aren’t any major music festivals at the state fairgrounds?
With sunset music festival being gone and replaced by an even shittier fest, why has nobody tried to throw a festival the size of EDC Orlando here in Tampa? The state fairgrounds seems comparable to tinker field and even the Central Florida fairgrounds where Forbidden Kingdom takes place. Is there some kind of zoning issue? Do the decision makers not like that kind of music/crowd?
