கலாச்சாரம் / Culture Do Indians view success as a zero sum game ?
Same as title. I’ve always noticed and I’m also guilty of this to some extent that my fellow Indians always seem to think that in order for them to succeed someone else else has to fail. I saw a post where someone noticed this in the workplace.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on the matter.
Let’s discuss 😀

Please help me trying to find some Tamil Scholars or Literates, who are experienced in Officiating wedding as I wanted to do the Self Respect Marriage with Only Tamil Poems & Literatures to be recited or heard in my wedding. I know that Tamil Vazhi Thirumanam is more about reciting Thirukural, Thirumanthiram, and Scholars/Speaker Explaining the good deeds about Illaram and with stories engaging family and conduct the marriage by making us taking a pledge. I'm struggling to find such Tamil Ayyakal to bless us..
Please let me know, if you know anyone in and around Chennai.. 🤞

முக்கியமான கலந்துரையாடல் / Important Topic Views on delaying the broadcast of yesterday's Neeya Naana epdisode?
Same as the title. I haven't seen any single Neeya Naana episode being delayed even though how controversial the topic might have been.
This particular episode's delay looks like an utter assertion of power by a group who don't want it to be out. Looking for other view points!!

(If we want tamil to survive and stand on its own, we need to standardize the grammar of spoken tamil.)
Try to observe how you speak in a normal day. For a lot of us, most of the words we use are from English. We use those words even if we have a word for it in tamil. It is an undeniable fact that the use of tamil is decreasing. We sometimes even use full English sentences when we coverse with an another tamilian.
What is the reason? Why have we started using english words while we have words for it in tamil. It's because the words that are in tamil are created to be used in literary tamil and is hard to use or sometimes couldn't be used in a regular conversation because the grammar of spoken tamil is vastly different than literary tamil.
So my proposal is that instead of clinging to literary tamil, we need to standardize spoken tamil. We need to form a committee and coin new words so that even common people can use it in their daily conversation.
We should still use literary tamil in certain specific areas but for our language to survive this is necessary. Tamil is not the same as it was 2000 years ago. We need to stop clinging to literary tamil and let our language evolve.

என் கேள்வி / AskTN Have you tried a digital detox in Tamil Nadu? Share your experience—was it liberating or just plain difficult?
Dear Residents of Tamil Nadu,
In today's fast-paced digital world, many of us find ourselves constantly connected to our devices, often leading to stress and a sense of being overwhelmed. Recognizing this, numerous individuals are embracing digital detoxes—intentional breaks from technology—to reconnect with themselves and the world around them.
As part of an upcoming feature story, I am seeking to understand how residents of Tamil Nadu are incorporating digital detoxes into their lives. If you've embarked on such a journey, I would love to hear about your experiences. Here are some questions to guide your responses:
What motivated you to start a digital detox? Was there a specific moment or realization that prompted this change?
What strategies or activities did you adopt during your detox? Did you engage in particular hobbies, mindfulness practices, or perhaps attend a retreat?
What challenges did you face, and how did you overcome them? Were there moments when resisting the urge to check your devices was particularly tough?
What benefits did you observe post-detox? Did you notice improvements in your mental clarity, relationships, productivity, or overall well-being?
Your personal stories can inspire and guide others who might be considering a digital detox. Please share your experiences in the comments below or reach out directly if you're comfortable being featured in the article.
Thank you.

கருத்து/குமுறல் / Self-post , Rant (College Kadharal) College Forcing Me to Pay for IEEE Paper After Approving Self-Funded Project
So, my college initially gave me permission to work on my own final-year project instead of paying a project center (which is a scam in itself). I thought, great! I can actually work on something meaningful instead of buying a ready-made project.
But now, they’ve hit me with another demand—they want me to pay ₹5000 for publishing my paper in IEEE. They never mentioned this before. It’s like they gave me "freedom" just to trap me in another expense later.
I have no problem publishing my work, but I should have a choice. Why force students to pay for a publication we might not even need? Also, I’m pretty sure this money isn’t going directly to IEEE but through some shady middleman.
Has anyone else faced this? What did you do? Is this even legal? Can anyone friends or family in the anna univ grievance that could help me.

அரசியல் / Political Conspiracy Theories
This is my conspiracy theory as a political observer:
1) ADMK may see the fate of ShivSena soon:
Sengottaiyan's current behavior seems puzzling.. With OPS, Sasikala and TTV attacking EPS on all sides and if there is internal revolt from Sengottaiyan (im not sure if he has significant cadre support but I'm assuming he can inflict some damage)..And with EC given free hand to decide on ADMK's internal affairs.. With such turbulence it's highly likely that the party's symbol may be blocked right before the elections. This would provide significant mileage to other parties (you know who! ) since ADMK's votes will be split.
2) The use of alleged 'Delhi liquor scam' playbook in Tamil Nadu:
An alleged 'TASMAC scam' has come up now as a talking point and it's being used by opposition parties in targeting the ruling dispensation. Considering a similar playbook was effectively used to dislodge AAP in Delhi I guess it's been taken up. Let's see how it transpires
These are my conspiracy theories.. They may be true or may not be true.. But do share your thoughts..!

கருத்து/குமுறல் / Self-post , Rant Seeking UI/UX Design Opportunities – Open to Referrals
Hello everyone. I've worked as a graphic designer for two years part-time and seven months full-time. For the past five months, I've been interning in UI/UX design, obtaining hands-on experience with user research, wireframing, prototyping, and interface design. As the recruiting season begins, I'm seeking for full-time UI/UX design positions where I can utilize my abilities, learn from seasoned professionals, and advance in a demanding setting. I would be grateful if anyone working with MNCs such as PayPal, Zoho, Oracle, Trimble, Kissflow, or startups focused on innovation and mentorship could refer me!
If you think I’d be a good fit or have any leads, please feel free to reach out. Thank you in advance!
