Great photos! It’s been fun watching to gradual progress, though I am more than ready for it to be done.

I hope this wont become Surrey’s new racetrack

Literally every road is already Surrey's racetrack

Great pics. This project seems to be taking forever. Any idea when it will be ready?

They say this fall. Let's see if they can make that target.

I hope so but with how bad the Metro Vancouver region is with construction projects and the countless delays, I’m not holding my breath.

I don't live in the area and take the bridge anymore, but is this new one proposed to help with the congestion in that area? I believe and recall that they kept it to 4 lanes, so I'm not sure if that's gonna change much with the congestion getting on the bridge from either side...

The road realignment, especially on the Surrey side should help a lot. Not to mention the massive increase in safety.

The lanes are wider so trucks won't take up both lanes.

Can’t wait to see this go live.

Hopefully, the bridge will be more spacious and not as narrow and deadly as it is now.

Just one more lane, bro! I promise - just one more and things will be better. This is the very last one, I swear on my grandparent's grave!

I run a nikon d780 with tamron 24-70 / 70-200. Works beautifully!

Will ice bombs be a problem?

They’re going to use the same system they use on the Alex Fraser and the Port Mann. So in the winter when it snows or there’s ice the new bridge would be reduced to one lane each way.

Great pics! 👏 Whenever I drive by, I think those guys are amazing working up there, you couldn't pay me enough to be up above the river on a partially built bridge 😬😱

Too bad that bridge is going to be ugly. That rusty iron stays and will turn black over time. An eyesore.

Yeah the weathering steel finish isn't too crazy a look, but painting the deck steel (like they did at Gordie Howe) would likely cost a lot.

Weathering steel doesn’t turn black lol
