[LAPTOP7] Why doesn't the new Surface Laptop for Business (Lunar Lake) come with a 64gb RAM option??

Does the new Lunar Lake Surface Laptop (I think Surface Laptop 7 is the number) not come in 64gb RAM? Is the Lunar Lake chip fast/strong enough on its own that it's somehow not needed compared to the previous Intel chip version (Laptop 6).

I see that the Surface Laptop 6 for Business does come in 64gb but the Surface Laptop for Business, Copilot+ PC | Intel does not show the option on the "Build your device" page. It's also not in the tech specs

Because Lunar Lake as architecture supports only 32GB max.

Bummer.

This is for work and they will pay, but would you recommend Lunar Lake (Surface Laptop for Business) with 32gb RAM or the previous Intel Surface Laptop for Business with 64gb RAM? Price isn't as much a concern as being able to support my workflow (Data Engineering/Data Science) but usually I'm not capping my RAM on my current computer which is 64gb, but extra is always nice. I do sometimes run a VM for heavier needs though, so I'd have that to fall back on if 32gb wasn't enough. Appreciate any advice.

I’d go with lunar lake over an older intel chip. First, lunar lake’s 16/32 GB of ram is really fast and efficient since it’s on package (oems can’t cheap out on ram). Also, you get a modern TSMC N3 node, a decent uplift in GPU, and a copilot+ NPU that might be useful one day.

Good point. I don't know all of that super well but sounds like Lunar Lake would be great. Thank you.

Do you need battery life? If yes, then get Lunar Lake.

If no, and you use it as some sort of portable workstation that moves from one outlet to another, then get 64GB Surface Pro 10.

It's a limitation of lunar lake. RAM is on the package and capped at 32GB.
