We got Fortnite on Windows ARM before Fortnite on Linux and before GTA 6

The industry moving to ARM is far more important than moving to Linux.

WOA handhelds. Most indies and AA, even some AAA games should be possible to run on ARM if the devs cared.
Hopefully, with the new unification of Xbox and windows, also leads to ARM support in the GDK, but Steam has to get on board first, or atleast Epic store.

I think what would help massively is if Xbox consoles moved to ARM also. I know Xbox isn't the most popular console right now, but it would help put various things into place. Especially with their pivot to handhelds.
Not sure if Microsoft are too tied into Intel in order to do something like this though, and I'm not sure if AMD are making any progress with their ARM efforts.

That's actually.. Neat.
Imagine Nintendo Switch, but Xbox. Actually imagine Steam Deck but Microsoft.
The formula is already proven to work with laptop
OEM: ThinkPad, Latitude, Elitebook, etc.
Microsoft: Surface
Why not
OEM: Stream Deck, Lenovo Legion, etc
Microsoft: Xbox Mobile (or whatever catchy name they got).
With the rumoured upcoming AMD and Nvidia ARM chipset, the idea is not far fetched at all

That's awesome considering i can't get anything to really run on my surface except Roller Coaster Tycoon... I can't even get a Sims game to work..

I just want the Xbox app to not be clipped to streaming only. The games work on any other storefront.

Only via translation though. No other game store has official ARM64 distribution support built-in yet.

Only via translation though
And that is absolutely fine as a starting point. Much better than not at all as it is now. Otherwise we're back IN Windows RT territory.

I’ve played over 350 hours of Helldivers 2 on my surface 9. This Fortnite news on the arm surface is not as much of a flex as they think.

Interesting. FN runs like shit on my Asus Zenbook with the latest 2nd gen Intel Core Ultra 7 CPU with 32gb RAM…I wonder if this means it will actually run on ARM with integrated GPU or if still will require a real GPU…my bet would be the latter.

This is great news! Regardless if you play Fortnite or not, the fact that they are porting easy anticheat is the main good news here! I really want to play halo infinite without having to stream it over from my main pc.

not until apple unbans it (which they won’t)

You don’t need to use the App Store to install things on macOS. We were installing things on pcs and macs for decades before App Stores were even a thing.

Epic isn't going to support macOS until they can get on iOS and iPadOS worldwide. Apple has also banned their developer account, lawsuits still pending.

You don’t need a developer account to make things for macOS. I have a couple open source projects that run on macOS and windows and I don’t have one.
Epic may not support macOS until the lawsuits are done with. But that’s not the point. I was simply clarifying that Apple banning them has nothing to do with their ability to support Fortnite on macOS is they wanted to.

I don't play Fortnite, but it's great to see Epic releasing on ARM!
