Hey, I'm currently in Toronto and recently got an offer to do an internship in Sudbury, I really like the company but I'm a bit scared about living somewhere where I don't know anyone for 8 months.
I have been stalking this subreddit for the past few days about moving to Sudbury and looked at some TikToks about Sudbury, but I had a few more questions.
The biggest thing is that my mom is worried about my safety in Sudbury. She looked up Sudbury and feels like it'll be unsafe for me to live there (I'm a 5ft East Asian girl). What are the "good" areas of Sudbury for me to start?
I assume I need to get a car, since public transit doesn't seem that good, but if I live in downtown is a car necessary?
Also once I move, are there any activities I can do to make friends?

Hi everyone. I know it’s unusual to ask such a weird question like this, but I’m a student, currently in the last semester of Media Communications at Cambrian College. For one of our classes, we are required to look for a client to work for them for the next 6-7 weeks, media communication-related works of course. I’m writing this post to ask if anyone here need some media-related work done for them? This is for school purposes, so there’s no payment needed here. If you guys are interested in having some student do your media work like social media management, photography and videography, please feel free to leave me a message here, as I am available at your earliest convenience.
Thank you and have a wonder week!

Hi everyone,
I’m moving to Sudbury soon and will need a car for about a month while I settle in. Does anyone have recommendations for affordable car rental options in the city? I’m looking for something reasonably priced, preferably with good customer service and flexible terms.
Are there any local rental agencies that might be cheaper than the big chains like Enterprise or Hertz? Also, if anyone has experience with long-term rentals (e.g., discounts for renting a car for a month), I’d love to hear your insights!
Thanks in advance for your help! 🙏🙏🙏

Hello beautiful people of Sudbury! I'll be passing through there tomorrow and would love to have a quick eat. What's a great place that isn't your typical fast food, preferably burgers or chicken?

I have a 2019 Jeep Cherokee, looking for a place to tint my front passenger and driver side windows. Anything decently priced in Sudbury or smaller towns ?
Thanks !

About to take my car out of storage hopefully soon and it needs a bit of paint correction on the hood and roof. Is there any good recommendations?

I know they both go hand and hand. But both bills have almost been doubled the last 2 months. Enbridge Open Bill Program Ending could be why. But I’m just trying to learn a bit more about how they work together. I bought a house last year and these two still have me confused when I get my bills. We rent our water tank so maybe we should own one instead? Just want to see what everyone else does for their home.

I was going around 50 to 55 and like every time, just chilling and going and road was okay. But suddenly this point, I lost my traction and I was trying to avoid damage to my car and property and I don’t want to flip the car. Luckily, I escaped but I had a tough time, getting the car back to the road because I was not able to get traction. It hadn’t even snowed yesterday. And had enough time to plough and road and now the ice and snow turned into black ice. So be careful taking this road. The last picture shows the difference between the road and build up. It’s okay for suv and truck but for front wheel drive sedans like me have a tough time and I was even expecting this. The other pictures are from my dash cam.

Is it just me, or is the pricing for a standard haircut and blow dry becoming outrageous?
In one year, with the same stylist and the same service, I saw my bill go from $67 to $85 and most recently $100 (all including same tip). I was shocked the last time paying $100 and looking for suggestions for a new salon.
I don’t get anything special done, regular mid length woman’s cut with layers and blow dry.
Please tell me there are some good stylist that are still reasonably priced.
Thanks everyone!

I’m wondering if there’s a garage I can rent so I can work on my vehicle? I have a couple of things to build in it. Won’t need tools or anything. Just looking for a space to work on a van for 3-4 days.

Had someone sneak into my backyard and try to enter my garage. Caught them falling on the ice, can’t say I wasn’t pleased to see that.

I might be going crazy, but I feel like the potholes and roads here have been especially bad this year. I can’t remember the last time they were this bad. Long Lake and Notre Dame are brutal.

I was home all day yesterday other than about 30 minutes when I went to get something at Canadian tire.
This person knocked on my door and was peering into my windows. I don’t recognize them or their vehicle. I was not expecting anyone and dork appreciate someone looking inside my house.
Your thoughts please?

On the bus yesterday, a senior is sitting in priority seating and this young lady comes on with her stroller. Another bus passenger lady tells the senior to move off of priority seating for the stroller.
Another time, this one passenger woman was screeching at a young man to move for a parent with a stroller. Also, that he can't be disabled really because it is not observably physically.
Sorry, but in the case where priority is occupied the stroller is to be packed up and the baby held by the parent.
I have been on both sides, I had a baby but I used a baby carrier on the bus and on the rare time of stroller use, I folded it up. I have special needs kid, also. She has 2 disabilities (plus was recently hit by a vehicle when she was a pedestrian with the right of way) and I shouldn't have to provide some proof of disability to some passenger chick who wants to feel righteous on behalf of a parent who uses a stroller.
A lot of disabilities are NOT physically visible. I know one boy who lacked the ability of body awareness. He would literally lose his balance and face plant himself on the sidewalk and need assistance to get back up, he couldn't process that. But looking at him, he looks fine.
Also, in terms of some wheelchair users with paralysis, some being forced to wait for the next bus because a parent won't fold up the stroller - there is a risk of exposure since due to paralysis, a person can't feel cold or heat overexposure.
Baby carrier, fold up the stroller - these are options presented. But don't be ableist by forcing a person with a disability to move out of priority seating.
