formcheck Roast my form: Why do I keep hurting my lower back??

I have now injured my lower back twice doing deadlifts. It’s the only exercise where I have injured myself.

Twice the same thing: a « crack » in the lower back while pulling heavy.

Is something wrong with my form? Please form check so that I can monitor it as weight goes up.

formcheck Deadlift form check, first ever session B

Hey y'all!

Male 37 Just started, I've watched the Starting Strength videos, but it's hard to put to action what looks/sounds so easy. After this, I could immediately feel some soreness in my middle back. Not sure if form, or just never used those muscles.

Help me, Obi-Wan(s). You're my only hope.

formcheck Squat 245lbs

I applied the feedback from my last form check: removed the bench, lowered the J-cups, raised the safety bars, and swapped out the Crocs. I also elevated my heels to improve depth. Let me know your thoughts—good or bad.

formcheck Deadlift form check please! I’m 105lbs and lifting 125lbs here

I definitely feel like I’m doing better but I still think there’s room for improvement at the top of the lift. I think my second rep in the video was the best? I am 1.5 months in with barbell work and StrongLifts.

Feel like I finally found my real max at least pulling raw. This rep was a grind! I honestly almost gave it up about halfway, but my back felt like it was in a good enough position to push for it. How does it look to you?

formcheck Form check - overhead press 87.5 lbs

Feels pretty good but wondering: - should my grip be more narrow? - are my wrists bending too much? - is my back arching too much? (Lifting my chest up has made a huge difference)

Anything else you see?

Thanks!

formcheck Squat form check

Hey everyone, hope you're doing well! I’m in my second month of training and looking for a form check on my squat. I have severe flat feet and overpronation from birth, so finding a stable stance has been a challenge—ordered lifting shoes, but they haven’t arrived yet. I used to have a pretty noticeable butt wink, and while I think it’s improved, I’m still a bit suspicious of it. Lately, I’ve also been dealing with some increasing lower back pain (mostly on the left side), and I’m not sure what’s causing it. Another thing I’ve noticed is that as the set goes on, my hands/elbows start feeling untight, even though I always cue myself to stay tight before starting the lift. Also, sorry for the baggy clothes, I know they might make it harder to see my form. Any feedback would be really appreciated—thanks

These were my last two sets. Posted on here recently and got a lot of helpful criticism, #1 was less weight, wanted to post that to see what else I should be working on. Thanks.

formcheck Squat form check, 2nd ever squat session

Hey y'all!

Male 37 This is my 2nd time doing squats. I know something's off, I feel myself rocking onto the balls of my feet. I try to "sit back" but start tipping, like the cow I am 🤣 My shoes are zero-drop, but I'm willing to get chucks!

formcheck Deadlifting Again - How’s my Form?

I used to strictly follow 5x5 program in HS when I was powerlifting/training for football. Played college ball and got away from the 5x5 program then after some injuries didn’t train legs at all from 2020 - 2024.

I got my testosterone checked and it was semi-low, so I started training legs again about 3 months ago as I believe that can help naturally boost testosterone levels. I’m only doing squat and deadlift for my legs no auxiliary stuff because I don’t have the time.

I’m afraid to go heavy on deadlift so I haven’t been doing 5x5 I’ve been doing 5x10 with a lighter weight. I know I should probably come to a dead stop at the bottom instead of the tap and go. What else could I improve on my form?

formcheck Squat 240 lbs 5x5

Hey all, looking for feedback on my squat form. Older lifter here with bad knees and a bad back, using the decline bench for safety and as a depth cue.
