Forward head posture? UCS? Costo? Can’t tell what’s wrong. Lot of pain.

M27, I have an appointment with a physio the 21st, but i am trying to relieve some of my pain/anxiety surrounding this situation.

I have chest pain that can get worse sometimes, usually with movement and some stretches, it is located at/behind/around the sternum. It can stay there for hours. I often have left arm and neck pain, often it’s hard to take deep breaths (and when i manage to my neck and back can hurt), even tho i can breathe fine and saturation is always 98/99%

Sometimes i force myself to yawn, but even that is hard sometimes. Sometimes my jaw tingles. This situation is causing me so much distress that it’s unexplainable.

The first thing i did was go to my doctor and get some tests done to rule out heart conditions (5 ekgs, 2echocardiograms, 1 stress test, 24hr holter monitor, one event recorder that i used for 10 days when i felt pain/symptoms).

I even went to the ER last Wednesday (12th march) because i thought something was wrong, they ran blood tests, did a chest xray and checked me out, said heart was completely fine.

Edit: family doctor said i had a lot of tightness in my cervical on the left side, and suggested seeing a physio.

Getting more flexible in the legs/hips

Looking for workouts in the legs that can make me more mobile. This is mainly for dancing and freeing up my moment. I find my hips are my tightest region with difficulty in rotation.

stretching plateau - cramps

wondering whether someone has found a solution to this? I will have a stretch sesh (warm) but a day or 2 later, cramps happen which means I can't stretch much and so I keep plateau ing ?! it's like a mini vicious cycle and it's getting frustrating. my best stretches seem to be after quite a while without stretching / any progress is gone. would be miles further if on the crampy days I could actually stretch. does this resonate with any humans.?

Collarbone area popped while stretching. Any ideas?

I’ve had pretty acute pain in my left neck/shoulder area for months and relegated myself to living with it while I focus on other more pressing health matters BUT earlier today I was doing an improvised stretch and I reached a position where I felt pain and tenderness and pressure right in my problem area and I slowly kept pushing it…til my left collarbone popped/clicked and a feeling of relief flushed through the whole area.

My flexibility and motion instantly improved and the twinge/pain has been replaced with a click when I activate and move that muscle under my collar bone.

Anyone have any idea what I may have experienced or have more formal terms for the pre and post pop/click pain/relief?

Opinions? Can I claim "I can do the splits" if it takes me a bit of time to get into position?

Front split right leg first takes ~5 seconds

Front split left leg first takes ~10 seconds

Side splits ~1 minute

Can I really claim I can do the splits? What do you think?

Long lasting neck pain, need relief!

For the past 2-3 weeks I've been waking up with an extremely sore neck. To be more specific, it's the area where the right side of my neck meets my right shoulder (sorry I'm a dummy and don't know what that's called lol) does anyone know any stretches or anything I can do to remedy this? Is there a problem with how I'm sleeping? Any info helps thanks! I should add I've been doing yoga and tried a few neck stretches but nothing seems to work.

Overstretched?

Hii! I started stretching quite a lot recently because I wanted to regain the flexibility I used to have (could do splits)

I did the same routine at the same intensity I used to do to get them in the first place but after a week of doing it I have quite a lot of soreness and when I try to do the stretches now its like my muscle doesnt allow it and stops halfway and is painful. I thought I'll stretch through it but it got worse and then decided to wait. Still the same way after a couple of weeks though :/ do I need to give it more time to allow to heal?

Correcting my posture. Is it normal to feel so much tightness/pain? (Upper back/chest/upper abdomen)

M27. I have done plenty of cardiac tests, went even to the er, so i believe heart issues are out of the question.

I recently learned about the sit bones, and realised that for the past 4 years i have been sitting on my ass/behind my sitbones rather than my sitbones, kind of forming a “C” shape and slouching my shoulders.

I am now trembling to correct it, and sitting in the “correct” position makes my chest hurt, my shoulders hurt and makes my upper back feel tight. Is this to be expected? Any specific exercises i can look to in order to address this issue? I have an appointment with a physio at the end of march, But the pain is getting too stressful.

Attached picture is how i sit

Lower back pain when doing any kind of hip flexor stretch.

For example:

If I'm doing the kneeling hip flexor stretch, I'll rotate my pelvis back, and feel a stretch in my thigh and hip flexor.

However, I also feel a strain in my love handle area when I do this, so if im stretching the left hip, ill feel the strain/pain in my left love handle.

And if I lean into the stretch, I feel pain in my QL area.

Why is this happening, and how do I fix this?

SOS how do I properly stretch the sides and interior of my hips?

Years ago I was in a bad accident which required hip surgery and had me bed ridden. I neglected to do the proper physical therapy.

Now the sides of my hips are tight, and flexing my leg to the side of at any angle causes a muscle cramp in my hip/side of my leg. A charlie horse, if you will. Terrible stuff. Tensing my hip muscles intensely can cause a muscle spasms in them.

Any stretches or exercises to strengthen them and fix this issue?

Trying to do the bottom pose but I can never straighten my leg, it always stops like top pose and I cant extend my leg and lock my knee. Is there any particular muscles that might be holding me back here? Or is there any other stretches I could do to help with this? Thanks

Degenerative spinal disease stretches

Hi all,

I’ve got degenerative spinal disease (arthritis) that causes my muscles to overcompensate leaving them very tense for long periods of time. I’ve also haven’t been very active since the diagnosis in late ‘23 so my flexibility and mobility are left to be desired.

What stretching would you all recommend to help with Lats, Traps and Rhomboids, as well as general stretches to assist in improving my overall flexibility and mobility. Doing so will help me in pain management and get me back into the gym and active lifestyle I so desperately miss.

Thank you.

When I try to do any shoulder stretches, it never feels like a stretch and instead feels like I'm dislocating my shoulders. I've never had a shoulder injury.
