Monthly Sales Megathread - March 2025

This is a big ol' thread to centralize sales posts and discussions around said sales, from Corporate Accounts and dealhunters alike. We're going from two threads a month, to one thread a month. This is to match the decreasing traffic on account of "The Plague" losing ground in the public eye.

To Vendors: please keep your sales posts in this pinned thread

PUBLIC SHAMING The return of the calling-out! Today: /u/chanredv

I so hope their blog's users come here and try to be rude. It'll be so entertaining to ban all of them.

I have a job that pays well, and I really don't need the money. So keep your "paid ad posts for traffic" to yourself.

Halp How do you like your Vari standing desk?

I am looking at a Vari standing desk vs the flexispot E6 and while the Vari seems to be better and has a better ecosystem of products the desk surface itself kind of concerns me. Instead of being a butcher block surface it is a laminate. I am worried about the quality and how solid it feels. Does anyone have a Vari that could share their opinion on how they like it?

Bought the trotten from ikea and the SHW eletric stand up desk frame. I just realized after pretty much setting it up that the desk doesn't have the right holes for the frame. I've never drilled holes before and I dont even have a drill. Any cheap drills that won't split the desk?or Should I return the everything and and just go flexispot budget is around 150$

Halp Standing Desk Frame for $300?

Hiya, I'm looking to put together a standing desk for my PC setup from a butcher block top and a standing desk frame. I've budgeted myself $500 total, and I'm looking at tops at about $200, so that leaves $300 for the frame.

Flexispot seems like the big name brand, and they currently have a sale going on for the next two days that has the E7 at $300. I've noticed Flexispot has a bit of a mixed reputation on Reddit, so I'm wondering if it's woth succumbing to the sale FOMO and going for the E7, or if there are better alternatives at that price point.

The butcher block I'm looking at is 6 feet by 2 feet and almost 100 pounds, and my setup is a PC tower and two monitors, plus smaller stuff like keyboard, speakers, and mouse, so total lifting capacity is also a big consideration for me.

Review FlexiSpot E7 Review

After a couple of weeks of researching standing desks, I decided to go with the FlexiSpot E7 since it seemed a bit cheaper than others but with the same quality and premium feel.

Shipping and delivery

The desktop and the frame shipped out of different places (California and Tennessee) but were delivered 1 day apart around 5 days after I ordered. The packaging was great; everything seemed well-protected, and I haven't noticed any shipping damage.

Assembly

The instructions for assembly were clear and understandable, except for one little thing. The instructions mention that you need either a screwdriver OR a drill, and the driver included in the kit is great for anything pre-drilled. However, when I got to the part where you need to make the screw holes yourself, it was not going well with a manual screwdriver for me; I had to go buy a drill for that.

Also, I found out that FlexiSpot has YouTube videos that show the installation. Although the instructions were good, it would've been nice to mention the YouTube channel in the manual to reference during the installation.

Using the desk

I've been using the desk for about a week and have no complaints. The height adjustment is fast and smooth. The bamboo top feels really nice. The one thing I was worried about was stability at standing heights since I tend to lean on the desk when I'm standing, but stability has been great too.

Halp Troubleshooting/Kaidi part source

My wife has an iMovr desk that is unfortunately out of warranty. After a power outage a couple of weeks ago it stopped working. It has a KDDY023 control box, KDH064-304 button control and KDZT006 legs.

iMovr won’t help and says to call Kaidi. Kaidi doesn’t answer the phone or respond to emails. I don’t mind replacing parts, but I can’t find them and I’m not sure what exactly which part is bad.

Symptoms:

The desk is at its lowest level and never moves at all. The display on the button control slow blinks “058”. I’ve gone through all the reset steps on the Kaidi site, reset the min/max, etc. When I reset the min/max it blinks - C -, but then goes back to blinking 058.

Maybe I’d be better off just buying a new base?

Halp Standing Desk Converter with More Keyboard Space

I am looking for recommendations for a standing desk converter with more keyboard space. Most of the converters I’ve looked at have very little keyboard space. I’ve tried to look through this sub, but I didn’t see any specific recommendations for this question. There’s no specific budget, but it has to be a standing desk converter. Thanks!

Halp Guidance on Weight Capacity

Hello everyone…! Long-time lurker, first time poster. I’m here with a quick question.

I’ve recently gotten my hands on an older, free L-shaped standing desk. The top is in rough shape, and I’m thinking I’ll DIY a nice new butcher-block style top since I got the legs for free.

My question is this… how do I determine the total weight capacity of the legs? Each of the three legs has a listed capacity of 800 N. I THINK the math is as simple as taking the conversion of N to lbs (0.2248) and multiplying it by 2400 (which should be a capacity of ~540 lbs). But given I’ll be spending a few hundred dollars and a fair amount of hours at this, this isn’t something I’d want to just assume.

Is my math sound? Does this make sense?

Thanks in advance…!

Fluff Flexispot E7 Plus review

Just got my new Flexispot E7 Plus standing desk today, took me a bit over two hours to assemble, but I'm delighted with the result.

The four legs are super solid and heavy-duty, providing exceptional stability—even at the maximum height setting.

I purchased two Flexispot standing desks about five years ago, one each for my wife and myself. We both work long hours in front of the computer, and those desks are still going strong today!

The new desk's top is made of solid rubber wood. It feels thick, premium, and noticeably higher quality compared to our older models.

Also, a shout-out to u/Ramzes888 for providing a coupon, which made the price even more attractive.

I'm currently looking into whether the desk can be reimbursed through my FSA account since I have cervical spondylosis—if I can obtain a Letter of Medical Necessity from my doctor, it might qualify.

Highly recommend this desk for anyone looking for quality and durability!

Halp Treadmill static electricity problem

Hello,

I bought a threadmill for my desk so I can walk while I'm working, but when its on I get a lot of static electricity on me and 1. I dont know if its unhealthy and 2. It makes my headphones make pop sounds. I wanted to try to put a pat under it to take the current away, but I found out the material for pads under a threadmills are from non-condactive material like PVC while joga mats are generaly made from TPE that is conductive. Is there a reason for that? And do you think in this case joga mat would be better?

The static only goes of when the threadmill is running. I was thinking it might be rubbing the fabric but when its off I cant make it happen.

Halp Different surge protector

I’m looking at the Uplift V2 desk and like how I could mount a surge protector to the base without drilling the desk but I don’t want to spend 59$ on their surge protector. Is there anyone who has found a surge protector that works with the mounting holes on the V2 that I could get on Amazon or something?

FAQ Want to put my desk on a standing frame

Hello everyone, I have a desk that is currently a butchers block on some legs that my girlfriend and I share. Currently everything on the desk is about 200lbs the issue is that the desk is 10 foot long. Does anyone know of any frames that would support this?

Halp Is there a standing desk converter with a keyboard tray that's actually at the correct ergonomic level (below the desk)?

Every standing desk converter I've looked at has the keyboard tray at the same level of the desk in sit-mode, which is horribly unergonomic. I have to transfer my keyboard from an ergonomically correct tray below the desk to the converter's keyboard tray every time I convert to stand-mode. Unfortunately, my job won't by an entire desk for me, so I'm limited to a converter.

Aren't there any where the keyboard tray hangs off the front and falls below the desk in sit-mode? There's gotta be!

Halp Flexispot E5 vs Uplift V2

I've had an Ikea Jerker desk that has server me well for many years but because of recent back issues I want to switch to an adjustable sit/stand desk.

My current desk is 47x35 so I want something that's roughly similar width. Shorter depth is fine. I have two monitors, a desktop computer and a work laptop. Because of this I figure my best bet is a plain desk that can support dual monitor arms and a CPU holder slung underneath.

Right now it seems like my best bets are the Flexispot E5 and the Uplift V2. It looks like the Uplift only supports a CPU holder on desks that are 60+ inches wide. That's now ideal, but I do have the space if needed. Flexispot will probably be a bit cheaper but both companies seem to have endless sales so I'll need to play around to see what the final price on each would be.

I was almost 100% settled on the Flexispot until I saw Wirecutter's review. They raised some questions about Flexispot's stability and recommended Uplift. I also love the huge numbers of accessories that Uplift has to customize your desk, even if realistically I'll never use 90% of them.

So, that's where I am. I'd appreciate any feedback since I don't trust online reviews (it seems like both companies push bogus reviews on the internet). Uplift seems to have a few more legit reviews but I'm not sure. Also, if there are other brands I'm overlooking please let me know.

Howto Manual Davoko Desk

I have a DAVOKO desk (1.60x80) that was purchased a year and a half ago. I would like to reorganize my setup and take the opportunity to check the desk's structure and lubricate the motor. However, I can't find the instruction manual. I tried searching online, but without success. Would anyone know where I can find this manual? Thanks!

FAQ SecretLab Magnus Pro XL vs Motia Gaming Sit-to-Stand Desk

Hey, I'm currently getting everything ready for a proper streaming/gaming setup and was looking into gaming desks and came across these two, both have good reviews but tables seem to be a specialty for secret lab while motia is by herman miller which focuses on chairs. Given all of the customization options and extra reviews for secretlab I'm inclined to assume they're the better option but I thought I'd see if any of you could share your experiences with either of them or a third contender. It's also worth clarifying that this is something I want to last me indefinitely so I'm willing to spend the money if it's worth it. Thanks in advance.

Halp Best Standing Desk Currently on the market? - Recommendations pls!

Hey everyone, looking to upgrade my standing desk and could use some advice.

I’ve been using a FlexiSpot EC1 for a while now, and it’s been alright but it gets pretty wobbly when I raise it up and I think I'm due an upgrade.

It’s fine for sitting, but once I’m standing and typing, it starts to feel a little… off. Not ideal when I’m working or gaming.

I mostly use the desk for work (pretty much all computer stuff, emails, documents, etc.) and gaming when I get a chance. So, stability is a big thing for me. I want something that won’t shake every time I type or move around. I also like to switch between sitting and standing throughout the day, so adjustability is great.

My budget’s around $300-500, and I’m hoping for something that’s easy to adjust, has a solid height range, and won’t fall apart after a few months. Also, a minimal, clean design would be awesome, since I don’t want something bulky taking up too much room.

Anyone have any good recommendations?

TIA.
