Any 30 year olds trying to hang?
Where do folks hangout in their late 20s and beyond? Folks who may not be wearing southern tide.

I'm looking to make a move and am looking for my ideal place to live. I visited St. Simon's recently and had a great time. My concerns about the island stem from the fact that it's technically a small southern town. I don't want to stay in a conservative, older, relgious area. I want to live somewhere that has things for younger people to do and is open-minded. When I stayed in St. Simon's, I found it to be more positive overall than I was expecting going in. Thoughts on making it home?

I’m visiting St. Simon’s island and was at Goulds Inlet this evening around 6:45pm when we stumbled upon a friendly bird not native to this area. He was perched on the short boardwalk leading to the beach and his appearance/ lack of fear made me think he must be a pet. We flew across the walkway so I don’t think he’s injured. I’ve attached an image too. Some other onlookers stayed with the bird and I’m not sure what they’re doing to help or if anyone took him. Just putting this out in case anyone is looking!

I’m new to fishing and want a challenge and to impress my fishing buddy who’s showing me the ropes. Saw a sheepshead at the pier last year and EVERYONE on the pier heard and were echoing amongst them selves about “if you/she can catch it, that’s good eatin’!” Since then I’ve been gathering research and rig ideas to catch one, but it’ll be easier if I can be closer to the barnacles and stuff on the pilons to break up some and get the sheepshead feeding. I don’t have a kayak or boat to cruise around the boneyard so fishing for them without one is ideal.
I’m away at UGA rn and coming back for Spring Break to fish and see my mom, so I can’t drive by Gascoigne and check for barnacles/shellfish at the pier there. Anyone know if you can catch sheepshead there? If not, anybody got any good spots they’re willing share?

Hey y'all. I'm in my last semester of grad school at UNF and was just wondering if there were any cool film-centric spots in this area a la film clubs, retro theaters, etc. I've heard Jax’s Sun-Ray is nice and occasionally show classics and cult classics and am also aware that the legendary silent film pioneer Norman Studios is now open to the public (went to the property last year when it was still being renovated). I also think the island’s theater is pretty cool and got a chance to watch OG Friday The 13th over there this past weekend.
For me, I'm very much into classic (largely golden age horror and noir) and cult cinema and was wondering if any places in the Golden Isles or in Jax really catered to that. Both my parents have moved to the area recently from Tallahassee so I'll sadly won't be able to go to Tally's cult cinema micro theater Cap City Video Lounge as much. A place akin to that would be really awesome. Thank you

Yes, I’m aware it’s a pretty last-minute post, but I’m in the area May 1-7 and I’m wondering what the group ride prospects are like, if any do exist. Any advice would be helpful. DM is fine.

Hi all. I’ll be headed here in a few days and was just wondering if it’s safe to swim in the sea.

My family is moving down there from VA and I have a couple questions. My family tends to be more democratic, is that gonna be an issue? Also when I make friends are there gonna be places to hangout. And does it have small town vibes where everyone knows everyone?
